Hi everyone!
There are a lot of App Ops installer in the Play Store and I encourage anyone not familiar with flashing to make use of them. However, what these apps do is install the App Ops apk as a system app and the device still needs to be rebooted for the user to be able to start using App Ops. I made this flashable zip for constant flashers like me who will keep losing App Ops with every new flash since the system partition will be re-wiped. i take no credit for this and in fact use the following apps to make this:
App Ops by Lars Team
ZipMe by JRummy Apps
Both apps are free from the Play Store and anyone can do this on their own that's why I feel like I can share this legally. If I am mistaken, let me know and I will remove this immediately.
Before flashing the attached file, please take note:
I have tested this in AOSP ROMs without any implementation of App Ops in their settings menu
I discourage using this in CM or AOKP-based ROMs since they have their own App Ops implementation and this might cause conflicts
Always make a nandroid backup before applying this or any other mod
I assume no responsibility for whatever happens to you, your device or your cat after flashing this. Flash this at your own risk.
This is just my way of giving back to the community. Hope you guys enjoy it. A simple thanks is enough. Cheers, guys.
Noice!!!
Nice mod broooo...

I found a supposed "safe" list of stock apps to delete and foolishly started firing them in the bin only to find that the messaging icon had not only vanished from the home tray but the option to replace it with a new shortcut had too.
I guess one of the apps deleted was responsible for that. Can any of you boffins figure out which i need and where to get it? The dangers of rooting sigh.......
I use handicant messages so perhaps a 3rd party applications could suffice. Next time either make a nandroid backup or use titanium pro.

You would always make a backup before you uninstall lol.
But I'll look through my apps stuff and find something about it.

Thanks for replying but im sorry. Maybe im a noob. I did make a nandroid but a couple of months ago and i wanted my system the way it was the other day. Dont know how to use ftfs or how they would particularly apply here. If i was to extract a copy of the current system id still be missing the messaging app wouldnt i? Is there not simpler apk method maybe or something that doesnt involve code/commands.
Just go on the market and download go sms or handcent

Using Go Sms and its a massive improvement. Thanks for the help everyone.
Pretty cool app I just found - it's called "Aniboot".
Free install:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5zb2NhbGRldnMuYW5pYm9vdCJd
Just install it. Select your resolution (1280x720 for me) and it shows you dozens of boot animations. Just click the one that sounds interesting, then click on "preview" to see what it looks like. Then click "install" if you like that animation.
The app is fast & easy to use.
If you guys find any boot animations it doesn't have already, then just send the developer an email to ask him to add it!
EDIT 12/29/12:
The Aniboot app requires root.
EDIT 12/29/12:
If you're on the new 4.1.1 JB official release, you might be having trouble using this app again? If so, then just flash the attached zip in CWM or TWRP and after doing so, the custom boot animations should start working again. Thanks go to user "Anbech" for the zip on his thread here:

I'll give this a shot. Rom toolbox is what I've always used.

Tried this just now on stock rooted bell and it won't work for me , says its installed but always the factory boot animation , any ideas how to fix that ? I tried a few from the list on the resolution you suggested
NM!

Sorry, I should have said it's only for root users. I just assume everyone at XDA is rooted, since it is a "developmental" forum.
Fantastic app. Some great choices in there, and it's free!
this also doesn't work for the S3 if the ROM you use has touchwiz.
Great app. Provides great ba's. Great for those that are sucks of the gay unicorn on aokp

Hello everyone!
Most of you are flashaholics and you always want to try something new.
But it is always a pain in the ass when you have no internet connection or just want to install one app.
That's why i took some apps who almost everyone uses daily to create an aroma installer(around 80mb)
Btw these apps are all free so no donated versions.
The Following apps are included:
Android Terminal Emulator
Chrome
Es File Explorer
Facebook
Firefox
RomManager
Twitter
Whatsapp
Xda-Developers app to download new roms, and
Z-Archiver
Some of these apps are maybe a bit old and some are latest version.

good idea buddy , this is an useful AROMA zip with all required apps when you had flashed a clean new ROM .
i'll thank you for the idea and the action you took for it
Thankyou christian for your response.
If I have time tomorrow then I will make tomorrow a gapps aroma flasher with gapps from 4.1.2-4.4 and with the option to wipe wrong installed gapps.
Then like the gapps core basic files
I will add later titanium backup to the package if anyone has suggestions just say it

good idea... i will try .... thanks
i would like to see how many people have dowloaded this already it sucks that google drive doesnt have that far as i know so many views and a couple responses lol but i am happy i could help some people to avoid bricking with odin flashing and with users who dont want all that google apps to spare some battery

So I just rooted my Nexus 7. I am not interested in changing the ROM, unless I really should, since I really like the Stock ROM. What are some good things to do while rooted?
A side note: I called Google before I did the procedure and they said unlocking the bootloader would not void the warranty. So, that is interesting.
... now you search and find cool things to do with your rooted tablet.
I'll toss you a breadcrumb though- Xposed. The rest is up to you.

Second that - once you've fiddled with a decent number of Xposed mods, there is no turning back  :good:
I'll toss you three other subjects related to Xposed - MoDaCo, GravityBox and App Settings You'll come a long way with those!
Also, the first things I install after updating firmware are ROM Toolbox, Root Explorer and Xposed. Then you can do anything!

Run Linux on it in a chroot ?
Do some hacking to see how the device works
Install busybox once you rooted, if the root process did not install it.
I have a version of busybox (1.21.1) compiled using the android-ndk
As some of the google search pages do not tell you, that if you don't use the ndk it breaks busybox's wget, traceroute, ping etc.
I know their are apps to install busybox, but they want a "donation" which usually I don't mind doing, but not for something I can compile on my own.

A small tool which makes the installation of xposed an easy process.
-I support only 5.0.x stock. If ot works on other versions - good.
*** I am NOT the author of xposed ***
The XPOSED AUTHORS original thread is here
make sure you thak to @rovo89 for xposed and his hard work.
--IF anyone else is to be added to the xposed dev list please pm me so I WILL add it. Thank you---
I'm just putting everything together so you can install it via 1 click
What does this tool do ?
BUTTON "INSTALL"
-Installs the complete xposed which includes the installer which is also copyrighted by it's authors
-makes backup of LG crucial files which would force close if we don't remove them (for now)
-deletes the mentioned files (smartcover, lgweather)
BUTTON "COMPLETE UNINSTALL"
-removes the complete package of xposed
-restores LG files (smartcover and lgweather)
-makes sure the permissions are the right one
The 3 dot menu contains:
"ABOUT" ---- Please read this...you need to read this as it's important
"DONATE" ---- support the further development etc
"EXIT" ---- EXITS the app
"UNINSTALL" --- This uninstall is only for those who have manually frozen the files and just want to uninstall xposed so they can unfreeze the apps later.
Req: a rooted LG G2 and TWRP installed.
An alternate build will also contain the files for those who just deleted the files and now want them back.
Please read this thoroughly so later there are no headbangs..

Haha...yeah...but it helps more than you know...this tool will probably prevent at least 100 noobish help i installed xposed and everything force close threads and posts
thanks @bender_007
Mate, I have to ask why. This is such a simple process if you have root, changing the update script and binary you open a new can for bugs... what's wrong with the official zips?
So is this not supported by non stock ROMs?
nice tool. altough I allready installed xposed manually an frozen the apps it will be usefull for unistall process if needed.
FYI do not try without custom recovery. I don't know wtf I was thinking, but I tried without custom recovery. Failed to completely install, but it booted up again. Then tried to uninstall whatever may have installed, rebooted. BRICKED. TOTing back lol. I am such an idiot sometimes.
I had smartcover and lgweather force closes on ls980. I didn't realize it happened to other variants! Thanks this is a nice tool!
The Play Store Link does not indicate a need for TWRP. Is that just an oversight, or does that version not require it. Rather be safe than sorry.
You need TWRP. I bricked my phone and had to tot back. Make sure you have custom recovery.
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
It does require twrp. Playstore rejected the app 3 times so I had to change text not to include some brands etc.
I know it seems I'm beating a dead horse but, any luck on a non recovery version yet? My tablet feels lonely without xposed!
When it's on testing I will send it to you . But get also a kdz of your system os if needed.
Hi, a silly question if I have uninstalled LGSmartCover and theses kind of LG apps that will cause FC, there will be some problem like the installator crashing because can't find LGSmartCover and lead to a bad installation....?
