Enable FULL Gesture Control on the Note 3 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I picked up a cloned Galaxy Note 3 For 375.00, then found out it was a fake and got another one from T-mobile. I found that the clone had full gesture control over everything that allowed you to swipe, (turn a page). The T-mobile Note only let's you use gestures with certain programs like email and the gallery. Is there any way to enable global gesture control on the T-mobile Note? The clone also has the screen sensor global, which let's me hover over the edge of a web page and scroll the screen up and down without coming into physical contact with the phone. I can also hover over the back button and menu button. Is there a custom ROM or setting that globalized those sensors?

If the clone was so awesome why give it up?

I didn't say that...it's missing a lot of features, too! No GPS, no eye tracking, very little development, no 4G lte, etc. I'm selling it as a clone on CL for 250.00.

AOSP ROMs stylus gestures

Hello, I am currently using vanilla root box, which is an amazing ROK, which has been my daily driver for quite some time. Manuel, the amazing developer of this ROM for our phone has recently added spen gestures as one of the settings. I was wondering if there was any way to set one of them to take a screenshot. Thank you for your assistance!

There is no way to do that as of yet.
Use vol down + the power button for screen shots.

It works perfectly with AOSP ROMs. I'm using with Paranoid android. You can assign a function or app to activate when you detach /attach the spen.

Yeah the last update that allows you to set what happens when you remove SPen and put it back put it over the top. I have owned it for a while. I set it to launch transparent pad then I made several gestures and double tap to open camera, I write a "X" to open XDA or Tapatalk, etc. Oh and write a "P" and it opens Papyrus. I dont use SNote at all anymore

Here's the actual thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2351974
This app does not make hovering work. It just uses the proximity sensor at the top to fake it. There are other apps that do this better. I mainly use the sensor to turn off the screen when I close the cover.

Proximity Screen Off Pro by SHAILESH is the one I use - I tuned it up with the Dev and it works really great if you have the Samsung integrated cover case. But there is one secret to get it to work - the cover does not trigger the the sensor - in fact you can touch the cover and activate things on the screen if the screen is on. So to fix this problem I double sided taped (you can spot glue as well) a card made of paper stock on the inside of the cover and bingo works perfect. My wife had some cool card designs so it actually looks really nice a customized when I open the cover.
There are some tweaks to the timing you need to make as well:
Preferences:
Screen On/Off Modes
Flip/Cover Mode: ON
Timeout 1.5 sec
Enable Screen On using Gest - This lets you wave your hand over the sensor to turn on the screen - nice.
All Settings:
Enable device admin - this is a really nice feature- it allows you to have it unlock your phone when the app is active. It has a widget that I use to turn the service on and off. At home I use the cover, away I do not and the phone locks.
Flip cover fix - No Recognize Delay - ON Delay is 3 secs.
Disable call handling - On
Enable Schedule Start Stop
These are what I found works great for me.

How to disable hand touch when S-Pen is out

I'd like to disable the hand-touchscreen when I'm using the s-pen.
Is it possibile?
P.S.: I'm rooted
I also wanted to do this (make the handwriting pad default) and was told my Samsung customer support that it was not possible.
good feature

Yeah, I was just thinking about this yesterday.it would be nice if there was a Google in the notifications panel where we can just disable touch control totally and just let the pen do the job.it will be excellent for sketching.

Do you have pointer option in SPen settings turned on? When it's on and S Pen is close to screen(when you can see the pointer) hand control is turned off.

It's not enought for me. I don't want hand touch disabled only when S-Pen is near the screen, I want hand touch disabled even when S-Pen is far, so I can use Note as more similar than a real paper sheet.

S Notes and Ez pdf (several other apps do this as well) both have palm rejection which it basically what you want. Your hand will only work at the very top edge and bottom edge of the screen. You cannot enable this on the system as a whole though.

use GMD S Pen control. It has a gesture that disables finger input system wide though I map my Own gesture to the action. This even disables the capacitive buttons until you re-enable touch. CHEERS

I set gestures multiple times to ensure recognition. When using gmd gesture control I have tusker set to pause the gestures when I remove the spen so. they don't interfere with it. I'll make a thread on my setup

Strange your ROM must not support it. I am running the ML1 and it's there so you should flash that. I also had it on the American MK1 SO You Could try that or Clean Rom as well.

Switchr perfect for note 12.2

I have been using switchr on my mega for ages as it's such a fluid way to switch between apps by sliding in from the right or left. It makes even more sense on this device rather than trying to goto the bottom buttons each time.
You can get switchr for free from play store there is a pro version but you can try it out.

Will try
Thanks for the heads up on this application. I am looking to purchase the Note Pro and this might be just what I am looking for to cycle between Power Point, VNC, and the Whiteboard.
No worries how this is not baked in I don't know it's such simple and useful you can choose by arc like in screen shot tab swipe in a row or like windows 8 by sliding apps in from left or right many customisable options

This is awesome! You're right, with the sheer size of this device it makes so much sense to use this rather than the physical button.
Thanks for pointing this out.
Your welcome

In addition to Switchr, I'm also using (and highly recommend) Button Savior (non-root).
Button Savior adds a small tab that pops out with back, home and other function buttons. (Paid version is highly customizeable). I was finding it annoying to also have to reach so far for the back button, but this is a nice solution. Now with Switchr and Button Savior in tandem theres no reliance on any hard buttons.
Funny I was thinking about the back button would be handy I'll check this out I did email the dev of switchr to be able to pin back button to the arc like you can with the home button. This may do thanks

Is swipe down to close working for anyone? I'm using Flow setting and although I get the visual red feedback at the bottom the application I'm attempting to close does not close.
As much as I'd like to use Arc it's just not enough icons for my taste.
I may go back to Swapps even though development for it is dead.
The note has this built in. at least the 10.1 2014 You can move it wherever and it has home back Zoom notification Shade etc. pretty cool plus no extra apps installed

He mentions in his thread that he is updating swipe down to close as it broke in last build he normally has updates once or twice a week

Nice. Thanks for pointing this out. The Note PRO 12.2 has this as well. I just wish it could be customized. For me, the trigger is way too big and it's slow. Sticking with Switchr + Button Savior combo as they work perfectly.

Yeah, I gave up on Switchr a long time ago.
I now use GMT Gesture Control which is much better for me. I've got a bunch of gestures set up to launch apps or do things that I want to do.
