try using the autoroot
in extras there is an option to reboot to download mode
Make sure you charge your battery first.
If it is less then 20%, it will not work.
It's functioning as designed, so that you do not lose power when flashing in download mode.
After you charge your battery for a good hour, with the phone off, try again and it should work.
HIT MY THANK YOU BUTTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW to the other posters above, DON'T POST IF YOU DON'T KNOW (thinking you know does not count). People like you piss me off when I Google for a solution and find threads filled with your utterly useless gibberish...
I will try auto root so far fd05 is eating battery and acting flaky

Sorry buddy you're bricked, same thing happened to me. Take it to Sprint, don't let them find out it was rooted and you'll get a free one in 2 days from Samsung if you have warranty.
Not bricked but recovery is not working right will need to go back to fd02

If he can't get into download mode or recovery, he is bricked.
OP are you relating everything that happened?
This is the first ever I have heard of a successful flash of an ODIN or ODIN OneClick where you cannot go back into ODIN DL mode.
Pull battery, then as you press and hold Power+VolDown, reinsert battery.
If it is too difficult a sequence, go into extra options of Auto Root, and select Reboot Download.

oops forgot the volume down. in my post earlier. Thanks Sfhub.
Autoroot worked and i went back to FD02 but recovery is still not opening right. FD05 did something weird I might just do a full restore with KIES then go back to FD02. Pulling the battery and hitting power and down while putting battery in worked once.

Have you tried contacting AT&T warranty center? I did a bad flash on my S3 and fully bricked it. AT&T swapped it out without question. I was even able to drive to one of their local offices (not stores) to replace it without waiting for one to be mailed.

+1 Solid USB is a must for this type of work
+1 Odin recognition - if Odin recognizes the device, you can generally save the phone.
Okay so I have a cool CM11 from maclaw.pl on my S3 Mini, my roommate saw it and wanted me to install one on his Ace 2.
I did, rooted his and Ace 2 and CM11 booted and all but the phone couldn`t connect with the phone operator, so he wanted the stock firmware back.
At this point, I have flashed (through odin) about 6 different stock firmwares, each one doesn`t boot.
the proper one is
I8160XXLL2_I8160PLSLK1_HOME.tar
didn`t work so I also flashed:
I8160XXMG2_I8160OXXMG1_HOME.tar
I8160XXLL2_rooted.tar
I8160XXLK6_I8160OXXLK1_HOME.tar
I8160XXLD8_I8160OXXLD3_HOME.tar
I8160XXLD8_ready_to_root_ANT.tar
also tried flashing CWM recovery but the boot wasn`t unlocked so I also couldn`t do that.
It doesn`t go further than "Samsung GALAXY Ace II" screen in any case.
The phone originally had Gingerbread.
Please help us.

Just flashed I8160XXMG2_I8160OXXMG1_HOME.tar (once again).
Recovery mode still unavailable (VolUp+Home+Power does nothing).
Now what?
Flash JB xxmb4 with pit file, or flash GB with pit file (there is only one GB firmware with pit, you can find it in a guide on xda named : how to revert on GB or something like that ).

Hi, Im new to this forum . I have this problem on my note 2 , I have updated my phone to 4.3 then the phone start hang after a minute on home screen so I had to pull the battery . Then I uninstalled certain app and it work great again. Then came the 4.4.2 ,after update through kies my phone boot up properly and I'm able to use the phone for about 2 days then it bricked overnight after I leave it to charge. I pulled the battery again and on the device and stuck on the samsung logo. I try to hard reset(volume up+middle button+power) but all it show was downloading.
So i follow the guide to flash back the stock rom through ODIN and use stock 4.4.2 tar.md5 from sammobile.com but it didnt work
. The phone still charge well. If i plug the charger while the phone is off the green led is light on and screen show battery animation.
Here's the results .

Try to install original rom(from country you buyed the phone) with odin.Is 2 reason if idin fail to instalne: is phone was unlicked from a carier or country and only rom work is from home country and 2: you mess up partition and you need a pit to install a new rom(searh in dedicated forum aria).Good luck.

I tried flashing it already and tried even the 4.1.2 stock firmware but all fail to no avail because the odin failed with no pit partition . I even to try to repartition it using the pit file for n7100 then even the repartition failed .

That was dumb of me . Here's a thank from me for replying(for sarcasm ). I indeed had already followed the guide to flash stock rom through odin and I have tried every version of it 4.1.2, 4.2.1 and 4.3 and 4.4.2 also ODIN need samsung driver to get the phone flashable so of course I already installed the driver.

You need to pull the battery and put it back in then hold the home button, volume down and power it on. Should take you to the bootloader. From there load odin and flash a downloaded firmware.
