Nope this is lame..
I remember it reset like right after my cycle ended and I paid my bill but it came back a couple weeks later.
... Bump
Go to settings - apps - all tab , and select data usage. Force stop, and clear cache and data. Reboot and see if that fixes it.

Have you tried checking the limit mobile data and alert me about boxes, and then use the slider on the graph to set the limits to something unreachable?
What rom are you on? Stock or Custom and if custom which one? I notice your dock bar and app folders are different but that doesn't tell me much.

Yup and that doesn't do anything either. The only time it went away was when my monthly cycle ended then it went away but then came back. I read online about quiet a few other people having this issue on 4.3

I would back up sd card. Then do a factory reset. Something is buggy. You could also just wait for kit Kat and see if it fixes it. Should be this week hopefully for the update.

Hello everyone... I come to you with a rather annoying problem. I am running Calkulin's latest GB rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332837 and it happens at the lock screen. My phone's screen will be off and then every so often it'll randomly turn on. It doesn't do it constantly, but enough to be obnoxious. Does anyone else have this issue? I use WidgetLocker Lockscreen (paid for), but it does it with the standard lockscreen as well.
Thanks in advance!
Try uninstalling widget locker and see if the problem is still present? It could also be a setting in widget locker!

I uninstalled WidgetLocker and rebooted my phone and it hasn't done it just yet, so we'll see how it goes. Thanks. Too bad though, I like that program D:
Edit: It's doing it again without WidgetLocker :\
Try wiping cache & davlik. If that doesn't work, then try fix permissions in recovery too.
Edit: Could be an app waking the phone too. Have you tried turning off sync or freezing apps yet?

Not yet, I'll give that a shot if the wiping cache, davlik, and fixing permissions doesn't work. Here's hoping! I have titanium backup pro so I can freeze apps... I know a few things sync like google calendar.
EDIT: Still does it ;-;
Which apps should I freeze?
It might be overkill, but you could just back up texts, calls, and apps, then reflash your rom or try another. Just do a fresh install, don't restore data with your apps. It might be the quickest means to an end. Also, if it does it on multiple roms, it's possibly an issue with the power button. Give her a squirt of canned air before you go running off to the sprint store. Good luck!

Going to give this a shot, I don't have anything to lose. :x I don't have the zip file at work, but I'll download it and see how it goes. :3 Thanks. I'm trying my restore point from before I ever installed a custom ROM to see how that works first, though.

I had to reflash and reinstall without data restoring on all my apps. I restored a few key apps data and now it's not doing it again. Too bad I had to go to such extreme measures thoguh.

My wifes phone started doing that after I installed ad away... My guess is every time it blocked an air push ad it momentarily woke up. We also thought it might be a locker app or a recent update but removing ad away did the trick. Shame cause it works at killing ads.

Most of the rom developers will implement ad blocking in their rom build. I know for a fact that Calkulins' use it. So you don't need to install anything else.
Sometimes they list that info on their OP.

It has a setting where it will turn the screen on everytime you get a text like the iphone does. It doesnt sound like that is your issue though considering the way you say it happens randomly and you didnt mention anything about it happening when you get texts.

Ok, I had this problem with my sgs3, sgs4 and now my galaxy note 3. I have noticed that every so often my phone data connection will turn off by itself. This can be located at settings/more networks/mobile networks/mobile data check marked. I am completely confused on what could be causing this to happen. I am jailbroken running 4.3. I used the vega rooted method. Thank you in advance.

This may sound dumb but go into recovery and clear the system cache it usually fixes bugs like this where settings don't stick. Likewise you could also do a hard reset.

Simply enable a 30 second or so delay for the settings to kick in after a reboot. If your settings will make the phone unstable you have time to alter them/disable TricksterMod after a bootup.

After having terrible battery drain with the newest update, I tried everything to fix it.
Here's what worked for me.
1. Clear the cache through recovery and reboot.
2. Disable consistent WiFi scanning and unneeded location services.
3. Disable security and bug reporting.
Step three was the most useful for me. I now have 4-5 hours of SOT like I did pre-update.
They're located in settings-about device and settings - security.
Disabling these will stop any diagnostic logging from being sent to Google and Samsung. I initially though this was the issue when my Android System battery use was through the roof and "Silent Logging Service" was on top of the list.

In my data usage, the unified daemon has only used 20kb or so. Is this app responsible for something else?
It is used with location reporting. The Samsung weather widget will not work if the unified dameon is disabled. Other weather widgets and location reporting will still work though.

Nice. Thanks. Got it disabled and will test to see if it makes a difference in the battery life.
#3 makes sense because it's likely pinging the database all day long even when in poor reception areas so it burns battery
#2 is a decent idea but I bet that was enabled before the update when you had excellent battery

O yeah for sure. Will report back.
I think the culprit is actually the enhanced 4G LTE services. Once I turned that off, my battery started to resemble what it used to be before the update. If you go to settings -> data usage -> mobile data -> uncheck 4G LTE services.
Been having horrible battery after update, trying all of the following and will report back:
- Disable Enhanced 4G LTE
- Clear the cache through recovery and reboot.
- Disable consistent WiFi scanning and unneeded location services.
- Disable security and bug reporting.
Will update soon!
