Hey guys can't remove superuser after rooting device I have tried every thing I used superboot r3 to root device originally
Any ideas how to fix
Thanks
If you are using a stock rom just use fastboot oem lock.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
You need to flash the stock image from Google and then fastboot oem lock
I don't have the Nexus, but on my OG SGS this was as simple as flashing back to a stock FW using Odin...

This! In the gsm dev section look up chainfires 4.0.2 odin image. Then see if you can use fastboot to relock bootloaders.
You don't need to use ODIN at all, you can do it via fastboot with the Google 4.0.2 image from here:

I agree, but odin is another option...
Thanks for your comments guys but I have flashed to stock using fast boot but has not removed to root. Ie superuser as it's still rooted
I have read all dominations of solutions without success

Thanks
Check out the guide here

what the problem is that by just flashing, stuff is leftover. U need to do a full wipe, including the system partition in cmw. Then flash and all should be fine. Just for future reference.
Sent from something, using something, from somewhere!
PS post if they say anything about it still not having warranty. On the Xoom, it still says it not warranted after u get it relocked and back to stock. Hope it doesn't apply to the nexus.

Hi, I ask that because the "+"volume buttom of my phone was broken, so that my phone can only boot into the Odin mode/download mode.
Also, my phone can't boot normally becase I flash something wrong so it got a bootloop, so how can I get in the cwm if I just have the Odin mode/download mode? Thx!!

You can use the galaxy nexus toolkit to boot it into cwm recovery.

No he cannot.
@OP: There is no way to get to recovery (that I know of) without either a) being able to boot into Android, or b) having access to the bootloader.
EDIT: You can try an Odin flash to flash all the stock images, and then go from there.

You can try removing the userdata image from the odin .tar. Assuming your bootloader is unlocked, flashing the other images should leave you with your data intact. Note that you will need to wipe data from within CWM if you flash a version of Android (without the userdata image) via Odin that is different than what you are currently running, otherwise it will not boot. But at least you will have whatever is on /sdcard.
No guarantees that it will not wipe /sdcard (as I have never tried it), but based on what I know, it shouldn't.
Yes, Odin will wipe everything. I have the sane issue currently with my volume down key, but luckily no software issues.
I'm wondering if this busted volume key thing is a common occurrence, or if you and I just got lemons. Gonna have mine looked at tomorrow.

It should NOT wipe everything IFF: 1) your bootloader is already unlocked, AND 2) you remove the userdata image from the .tar.
So now I download the stock images from google and flash with Odin MODE?

No, the images need to be packed into a .tar so that odin can flash them. What version of Android are you running?
Chainfire has IMM76D images here, and there are some JRO03C images as well somewhere. In order for you to be able to boot without wiping, you need to flash the same version of Android that you are currently on, or add CWM to the package (renamed to recovery.img) so that you can wipe data. Otherwise, you will not be able to boot. Follow the instructions carefully -- make sure you do not have re-partition checked.

You need to make a .tar using the boot and system images from JRO03C. I don't think there is one already pre-made.
1) Download the JRO03C factory image corresponding to the build that you are running (yakju or takju), and extract the system.img and boot.img files.
2) Download CWM 5.5.0.2 and rename it to recovery.img.
You should now have 3 images: system.img, boot.img, and recovery.img. Next is to package them for use with odin. This needs to be done either 1) on a linux box, or 2) on a Windows PC running cywin, or 3) on your phone (I believe).
Code:
tar -H ustar -c system.img boot.img recovery.img > ODIN_JRO03C.tar
md5sum -t ODIN_JRO03C.tar >> ODIN_JRO03C.tar
mv ODIN_JRO03C.tar ODIN_JRO03C.tar.md5
Now you should have one file ODIN_JRO03C.tar.md5 which you can load up and flash with Odin. Follow the instructions in Chainfire's thread that I linked to earlier.

If you want to be completely stock without losing data....
First odin flash cf auto root for stock recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980644
Then download supersu again
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ce=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=supersu
Then download triangle away
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwyLDEsImV1LmNoYWluZmlyZS50cmlhbmdsZWF3YXkiXQ..
Run triangle away as root
Then go to super su and full unroot
0 flash counter
Stock recovery
Unrooted
Profit.
If your device Status is Modified.... Factory Reset will make it Official.Soooo Unless you need to return your phone, leave it alone.
Always make a stock rooted backup whenever you root and you can revert back to stock in minutes without factory reset
This took me 2 hours to figure without losing apps or data. So hit the thanks if it helped

if you use TA under root, doesn't it force an auto reboot? How do you get the SU to do full unroot then?
Yes, once you do TA it reboots in a recovery and warns you tge resets counter. Does not factory reset just restarts and clears counter.
Under supersu if you scroll down to the bottom of options ut wilk say full unroot.
Id show a screenshot but I unrooted already. If you see it can you post a screenshot.

easiest way. once you run the TA app, it'll reboot, once you press 'vol up' to clear and when it's done (screen goes blank), pull the battery, go to DOWNLOAD mode, it'll be 0.

Make sure all rooted apps are uninstalled then go to settings. If it says modified like mine then there is still a rooted app installed. Your picture is correct, shows everything stock.

One quick question. ..
Okay so if I DID make a stock rooted nandroid backup before I flashed custom rom and kernal and I wanted to just completely unroot and go back to stock everything, then all I would have to do is just flash back to the nandroid I made, then run triangle away, delete any root apps, then click unroot in SuperUser and I should be good to go if I have to take the phone in for warranty? And will it be in that exact order? Or should I just run triangle away then factory reset and flash official stock rom? Is that basically the same? Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks

Run cf-auto root (for stock recovery)
Run triangle away (to clear counter)
Unroot with su app
Factory reset (optional)

I am trying to unroot my phone before I send it out for repair. I am running CM10.1 with TWRP recovery. I reset the binary counter with triangle away but I can't find a link for a flashable stock recovery? If I flash the stock rom, will it replace the recovery as well or do they have to be flashed seperately. I've heard that going into a custom recovery will trigger the binary counter so there's no point of me flashing a stock rom only to trigger the binary counter again...
I have the GS3 T999v with Wind Mobile
Thanks in advance!
I'm pretty sure flashing any stock rom will not affect the recovery. You could try flashing stock firmware or the unrooted stock rom.

I meant to say that I have the unrooted stock rom ready to roll. The issue is that I'm not sure if it will replace my recovery to stock as well, or would I have to flash the stock recovery before I flash the unrooted stock rom.

The recovery in your sig says it's for t-mobile gs3 or does it not matter?

Go to the firmware thread linked in my sig. Download the correct firmware for your model/carrier.

Thanks
EDIT: Ok I am following this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2323847 and it says 1) Reset binary counter 2) flash stock recovery 3) go into stock recovery and perform a data wipe....I cannot data wipe from custom recovery since it will reset the binary counter! This is why I need the stock recovery, do I not? Won't flashing the Offical Non-root Stock ROM on top of CM10.1 without data wiping give me problems??
Sorry, I must've misread, thought you already reset the flash counter. In that case flash the root66 firmware instead of the official stock. Once done, you csn now use triangle away to reset thr counter.
Next choose full unroot from the supersu app. Then factory reset.
Done!

You're supposed to flash the stock firmware (not rom) in Odin and it'll return everything back to factory. But in your case you should do what doc says and flash root66 for your device so you can then use triangle away and unroot the phone.

Thanks Doc. Well, it kinda worked.
The odd thing is that I flashed the root66 (which also restored recovery from TWRP to stock) and i wiped the data from stock. Now the device status is listed as "Normal" (So I guess my device isn't rooted) so I guess i don't need to do anything else. I'm even downloading an OTA update right, I'll let ya know if I run into any problems.
Thank you very much for your help
