hey guys, I don't really know much about rooting and all that stuff. i rooted it once out of curiousity but quickly went back to the stock firmware and reset the counter. months later (now) I recently started getting all these sim card errors I figured i installed the firmware wrong or something so i tried to redownload the stock firmware and upgrade from there
I launched odin 1.85 installed OUDHS-Recovery-jfltetmo-1.0.3.3 into the phone, ( it passed) and then i installed ROOT_M919UVUAMDL after it rebooted i started getting this
"kernel is not se android enforcing
set warranty bit: kernel"
I can still access cwm touch req0very v1.0.3.3 but I dont know where to go from here, i just want my phone back
Are you still getting sim card errors?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
lol well it wont go past the galaxy s screen. it stuck there and it gives me the error, also i believe its because the stock rom i got was android 4.2 but it was running 4.3. i dont even care what os runs as long as i get my phone running. i tried going through all the posts in the other threads but I dont understand some of the procedures to get them running. cyanogen mod looks nice and simple
I got it to boot up with a nexus rom, its really different from touch wiz it still gave me the kernel error when i booted it but it ran fine afterwards, i was also checking out the rom and it said that I only have 1.2 gb of ram when ireally have 2 gb. slowly but surely i'm starting to dig this changing of the roms, haha. can anyone hook it up with a link the latest firmware of stock touchwiz? i kinda want to get it running good by the weekend. thanks in advance
There's nothing wrong with the message at boot up, you tripped the Knox counter so that's why you get that message.. You can just flash a stock ROM if you want to go back to touchwiz
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
well, it looks like i'm still getting the sim error message, could it be because its running 4.3 still? how do i get it back to stock and reset the counter so that i can exchange it at tmobile?
It's because you tripped the Knox bootloader. I usually just flash the stock ROM that came with the phone when exchanging.

You cannot reset it.. All you can do is flash the stock 4.3 firmware with Odin if you're thinking about doing an exchange

Not in my experience. They just have stuff like Knox and the flash counter, so they have the upper hand in a dispute.

well, i got the replaced but guess what, it still has the sim card issue, i'm' a 3rd sim card so it seems like these phones are factory defective. looks like I will have to call samsung and try to get it replaced again.

So I got this phone the other day, I had the galaxy blaze, was lucky enough to sell it for 300. I talked the dude down on my s2 because it had scratches on the bezel and back door and I know I can get the 3 piece kit for $30, so I gave him 260.
Anyways it seems the phone has some software issues, it constantly freezes, sometimes tapping the text to open the keyboard it takes a couple taps to get the keyboard up. When I shut the phone off it stays at the "goodbye" screen so I have to pull the battery, same with restarting. Should I try to flash the factory software or something? I'm currently stock rooted (rooted it myself but it was the same crap before I rooted).
If so what does do I need? Already have Odin and drivers.

Also, is it normal when I go to menu - about phone and click software update it doesn't do anything but says "no firmware" ?

That's normal. It means it has the latest OTA update. If you are on stock GB and you want to go to the latest ICS, you can use kies or Odin. I recommend Odin back to stock or flash Jedi mind trick. That's one solid ROM!

I'm supposedly on stock ics. Should I Odin back in case the previous owner has it effed up, then re root, then flash the Rom? Is there a way to Odin the stock software and keep root, or should I start from scratch?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
I already have Jedi mind trick downloaded from the other day, I tried it out and nandroided back to stock ics, but I'm thinking about getting jmt back.just not sure if I should flash the stock files first for fear of something is hacked up

I'm running into the same thing with my GTab. I've done a whole mess of flashing and now when I Nandroid back to my stock HC backup I'm getting nasty side effects. I'm thinking of flashing stock firmware to just start clean all over again. Seems to me if you ever think you've got less than expected stuff happening and you've done everything right, flash factory and start over...
That said I'm probably in for it here with my S2 soon LOL
I'm wondering if it will even make a difference going to a clean slate then flashing jmt. Not sure if there is any prerequisited files that got messed up (flashing the wrong radio or img files)

Just checked for updates as described in other threads and it found the latest 4.3 update. I have read both positive and negative responses to the update. Some found things they used in 4.1.2 that are being taken away. Some like the new features in 4.3. It will vary from person to person whether the ROM is better for them or not. Fact is, all devices (current and future) are moving forward.
Should I just install the update? Should I make a copy of my current setup with one of the recoveries, then odin back, and run triangle away?
Strange. I went ahead and updated. Even after doing two complete resets, I still have SU app from 4.1.2. I guess it carried the program during the upgrade process?

it basically dirty flashed the new update over your 4.1.2. I honestly didn't care much about the KNOX boot loader since my warranty is already over. but, I find not having to flash devil kernel so much easier w/ less lag.

Hopefully someone will develop something that resets the KNOX counter. Triangle worked for 4.1.2, but does not work in 4.3 for me.
BTW, what 4.3 ROMs do you like, since we have the new bootloader? I just installed TWRP and trying to decide on a ROM.

exactly why I didn't care much for the T-Mobile ROMs. it works spectacular. w/ the new boot loader you won't have to flash devil kernel to get WiFi working. and there's no data drops. + we get the N3 features.

I am installing DN3 and am in their installer. It asks me whether I want the N7105 version... or the i317 or i317M. I read to install the ATT version, but what's the difference in the M and non-M version?
So I have a question I hqvent been on in a while and last I checked the newest update came with a locked bootloader. I know it did for the s3. I liked the newest software on the s3 but I jus5 cant stand all that bloat and not having full control of my phone. That s3 was killing me. I just got my note2 back from samsung with a nice new screen and of coure they forgot to send the spen with it. Not that I use the stupid thing anyway but still come on. Anyway is the bootloader locked on this one also and how hard is that to get around?

theyre for different companies i believe. as how ours (T889) also has a T889v ( i think thats the right letter) version as its for a different conpany. I installed using the ATT one. there's really no difference because you're just going to flash a tmobile modem over it.

yes the boot loader is locked. I don't believe there's a workaround it yet. but I'm even sure. you can scroll around through the threads and see if there is. what I did was just update it anyways and tripped my KNOX boot loader to ox1. I didn't have warranty anyways so I'm not tripping over it. and then I just rooted it, flashed cwm and started to flash ROMs.

Thank you. So is the root process the same? Usually i flash twrp with odin then install su permissions then I flash away. Or do I have to use another method? Really all I want is the modem software so I could just wait till someone pulls it out they usually do. I always liked c heckin out the latest stock rom but always changed back to aokp.

I wrote instructions on how I rooted. there could be other methods to. this is easiest for me! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2562994
if you're going to end up on aokp, you should just stay on the 4.1.2 boot loader. the update to me is really only for TW roms because the stock ROMs are working just fine w/o the new boot loader.

I'd prefer one that doesn't involve KNOX
The best thing to do is flash back to stock MG2(if you're on Boost/VM) or MD4 if you're on Sprint, via an Odin Tar. Before you do that, if you're rooted, run triangle away, then flash. That will wipe everything except your sd card, including root. There are tars of both floating around. Try android forums if you can't find them here. Good luck.

Use a full restore as it will crash constantly since you are coming off cm or aosp. Also remember you will need to be on md4 to flash back to custom once you diag. Is done so its kind of time saving just to Odin the MD4 1 click full restore then just go in.. BTW why are you going in for the diag any way? Don't worry about loading any apps other than what you'll use as I have had them full restore my phones to "fix it"

i can't use the one-click since I have a Mac, so I'm going to have to use Heimdall (always an adventure). I can't receive texts, and Sprint has no clue why, so they want me to have diagnostics run. It's really weird, i can make and receive calls, send and receives MMS, use my data to surf the web, etc. and even send texts, but I can't receive them.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 for T-Mobile. I accidentally tried to root using a method that was for an older version of android and now I am getting the "Kernel is not Seandroid Enforcing." I think I just need to flash the stock kernel for 4.4.2 and hopefully that will fix it, but I can't seem to find a link to download the stock kernel. I have been scouring the forums for quite some time now. Can anyone post a link to it or can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix this? HELP ME!!!!!!!!!! LOL Thanks in advance for any help. Yeah......It's not booting. It hangs at the Samsung boot screen and has 2 lines of text in the upper right corner. One says "Kernel is not seandroid Enforcing." the second line says something about warranty. I would tell you specifically what the second line says, but I can't read it. The text is too small. If I flash the stock 4.4. from sammobile, will it fix everything? Sorry, kind of a noob question, but I am just not sure where to start. I was thinking of just flashing the kernel as i really don't want to lose any pics and stuff that I have on the phone and I think that will happen if I flash a new ROM, won't it? Sorry for such noob questions. Thought I had a grasp, but 1 little mistake and now I'm hurtin........don't want to make it worse. Thanks again for the help.
I'd Odin flash the stock 4.4 image.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I will give that a shot.
Yeah it will fix it, and you don't lose any pics if you flash a ROM, only data if you do a full wipe.. Now it is recommended to do a full wipe, but for the sake of this situation if you dirty flash a stock ROM, it should boot and have all your contacts, apps, and stuff like that.. if you really need them you can back them up and then wipe, or factory reset, or whatever it is you have planned.. Just make sure you flash a 4.4.2 stock ROM if you do
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
OK. That worked. Phone is booting and working properly now. Thanks for the help. I am, however, still seeing the "Kernel is not seandroid enforcing" and the 2nd line of text as well. I see this during boot. I understand this shouldn't be an issue, but is there a way to get rid of that message?
What exactly did you do to fix it? If you flashed a ROM then it probably has a custom kernel and that's why it shows the message.. You can flash the stock kernel, or do a restore in Odin to get rid of it, but I wouldn't bother unless you return it for warranty
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
I have my sisters s4 and it has given me nothing but problems. It was set to stock and it wasn't rooted or anything and I'm still having issues. It freezes and hangs on forever and the background screen turns black even though I don't have a black background on it. After a while it resets randomly. I tried everything I could to get it running. I flashed the stock rom through odin like a million times and it's still having issues. I don't know if it's the phone or the stock rom or what but I just wanna get it running. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you still get issues after factory resetting and flashing with Odin, also try kies as a last resort or flash custom ROM as kriptik stated
