Motorola online order nightmare - Moto X Accessories

Horrible experience with Motorola.
On 1/17 I placed an order for a pair of the wireless headphones in black and a moto x car dock. Didn't hear anything for awhile so I did the online chat on 1/21, and was told it had shipped, and I would get a tracking number the following day. The next day, no tracking number so I did the online chat thing again, and to my surprise, was told the order had not shipped, and it was still in processing. I asked if the items were backordered, and was told no, they all show in stock. He said he would expedite the order and if I did not get a tracking number the following day to call. He did admit that the conversation the prior day was not true, so they did lie to me about it being shipped.
Today I received an email that my order had been canceled. I called and after explaining the order again, I was told all the items showed in stock and they did not know why it hasn't shipped. I was told I was being transfered to somewhere to get my order shipped. As soon as the lady answered she played the whole thing off, saying the items were backordered, and she would call me when the items were in again, possibly late next week, and hung up.
Ffs, anyone else have any problems with them? I do not understand how people who ordered the items after me ( check the thread on here) have gotten them already. Everyone beware, because right now they are a mess.

Oh, that will definitely be an option, thanks for the heads up! Right now I am going to give them a couple of days to get my stuff sent to me otherwise I'm cancelling it all and buying elsewhere.

I had a similar experience ordering my Moto X, and let me tell you that if you end up canceling your order and buying elsewhere, I would make sure that the other place can process returns easily.
I order a Moto X Dev Edition and was told it would ship in 3-5 business days. One week later, no shipment notification. So, I call thinking maybe there was a problem with the payment. The person I talk to says the Moto X Dev Edition is backordered and they did not know when it would be back in stock. I ask if I can cancel the order since it is backordered and the person says that I can.
I start looking at other options for getting a Moto X and find one on Amazon. So, I call Motorola back and tell them I want to cancel the order. This time, the person I talk to says they have over 1,000 in stock and he doesn't know why my order has not shipped. He begs me to let him straighten out the order and promises that he can get it shipped by tomorrow. So, I decide to give him one more day.
Next day, no shipment notification. I call Motorola back and tell them I want to cancel the order. Again, this person begs me to let him investigate the issue and try to get it shipped. I tell him no, just cancel the order. So, he says he cancels the order and I ask him for a cancellation number. He says that they don't do cancellation numbers but he could give me the case number which references our conversation and that the order was cancelled. Fine.
I call back the next day to confirm that the order was cancelled and this person I speak to says that the order was cancelled. Great, so I order the phone from Amazon instead. Three days later, I get an email from Motorola that tells me my Moto X has shipped???
After all that trouble, I really wanted to refuse the shipment and have the phone sent back to Motorola. But, I was really afraid that they would still charge my credit card and I had serious doubts that I would be able to get a refund from them after the ordering fiasco. So, I ended up returning the phone from Amazon, which was simple and easy.
Ultimately, I ended up with the Moto X I wanted, but that was honestly the worst buying experience of my life.

I hear ya. Almost identical to the problems I had. I did get a call from a supervisor today who said it shipped and we'll be here tomorrow. The only kicker is, they couldn't tell me what shipped, all, our part of, my order. FFS, get it together Motorola.

I would like to echo some of the things said. Two out of the three orders I have made were easy and simple, but it was my second one I'm still kinda fighting.
I'd ordered a 32GB from Moto Maker, customized it, and checked out. I had it sent to my work address. They charged my card, made my phone, and shipped it out. I then find out/remember the Dev edition (yay safe rooting) so as soon as it came in I returned the order and then placed an order for the Dev Edition. an hour after that I get an email saying the order was cancelled. I call in, turns out the address they just sent a phone to is now no longer good... They say give them 48 hours to get it fixed. Nothing, Call in and they say another 48 hours, nothing again. Lucky me there was the sale coming up, so I send them an email and say just cancel the order completely.
At least because of the issue I was able to get the phone I want 100$ cheaper, but I still wish I wouldn't have had to deal with it in the first place.

Experience With Wirefly

So I bought a couple Note II's for me and my wife on the day it came out. Wirefly had a special price of $249.99 on that first day.

You had to go to their "Friends and Family" site but it seemed to be the real deal. I had never used them before so I called insted of purchasing the phones online. While I was waiting the price went up to $279.99 and the CSR would not honor the $249.99 price. I was upset but I still wanted to get the phones. So I went ahead w/ my purchase.
My wives phone ended up having an overly sensitive SPen. So we had to send it in for an exchange. The CSR I spoke w/ messed it up and didnt process it right so we had to mail in her phone before we could get the replacement (they are supposed to send you the replacement first and have you put down a deposit).
I wrote a poor review on http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Wirefly and quickly got a response from Wirefly (They actively monitor this site).
The guy from management couldn't have been more helpful. He expedited the shipping of my wife's new phone and got me a credit for the extra $60 I spent. I was very impressed and wanted to let people know what a good experience I ended up w/.
Moral of the story, if you have issues w/ Wirefly use resellerRatings to get somebody from management to help you. The CSRs are useless.
Bought mine off contract over the phone with Wirefly and it took the CSR one hour and 11 minutes to process the order, what a joke. I was ready to strangle the CSR.

Yeah I had bought it from wirefly also a Galaxy s3 and Note 2 and I had a question, called in and the guy was like, let me order for you. I wish I didn't order it through him, he tried to up sell me on so many different products and accessories and it pretty much took like 45 minutes for the order to be placed. If I did it through the website, it would have taken 6 minutes top.

Need opinions, Should I return Gn2 to sprint and pickup preorder 1 from BestBuy?

Just Looking for input pros and cons to the following idea please.
I Pre-ordered my Gn2 through Bestbuy right when they opened on the morning of the 25th, I literally walked in the door as they opened and asked about the availability. The first person in the mobile section had no clue, the 2nd actually did a search. At first she couldn't find it but then after hitting refresh a few times she had it pop up in the system. Then she placed the pre-order right away, So I know I was literally the first person not only at that store but in my general area for the phone. So anyways to the point, I had this on pre-order and in the meantime of waiting I came up on some cash so I just went to my local Sprint store and Purchased one with my upgrade. NOW the Gn2 is available at Bestbuy and reserved under my name yet I am still under the 14day grace period with Sprint. So I could return it to Sprint with no harm no foul(no restocking fee and upgrade stays intact) and get $300 cash in hand. While picking up the Same Gn2(same color) at Bestbuy and drop it on my Bestbuy card(which it is pre-ordered on).
Now what are the Pro's and Cons to doing this for anyone who has purchased mobile devices and activated through their carrier at Bestbuy.
The MAIN pro I can think of is the insurance plan at Bestbuy not only covers more but when using the insurance you get a BRAND NEW phone off the shelf at BestBuy where as with Sprint you get a Refurbished or returned whiped phone.
Now I spoke with BestBuy and tried to cover most of my bases and found that If I choose to which I would after I activate the device I can go to Any ol' Sprint store after that for any reason(as if I purchased from them in the first place).
The only Con I can think of is I run the risk of getting a phone that could have an issue like with the S-Pen or something when the one I currently have is Flawless. And with that if I need to return it I might have to wait due to limited availability considering they just launched it today and will probably be limited for the next week(s). Granted I would obviously deactivate the current one in store at BB then activate the new and try and sit in the store for a decent amount of time and run through trial and error to attempt to uncover any issues in the meantime before I head back to Sprint to actually physically return the item.
I am planning on heading in today so any input as for Pros and Cons would be GREATLY appreciated.

anytime you exchange your product you risk getting a bad one in return, but you could also just return it again. some of the funky spens just need to be adjusted. i posted on the GN 10.1 forums on how to do it.
the only real con you have is waiting in line to return the phone and pick up the others. worst case in my area it would take a few hours to do. you could always call and issue an rma, they'll give you 30 days to return it after you receive the return kit (at least they've done it for me in the past) and it doesn't affect your upgrade status.

Restocking Fee is only for an exchange not a return. If you are returning the device and want out of it, you get 100% back via the way you payed (credit card, debit, cash) and your upgrade remains intact(if you used one which i did). When you are taking it back because you don't like the device and want to swap it for another device say a gs3 then you pay a restocking fee. Which is pretty stupid they are saying if you want to return it and take your business else where you get a 100% refund w/ no penalty attached. However if you'd like to keep your business with them and grab a different device keeping the purchase in house they will charge you $35 restocking fee..
I double, triple checked the above information in store and with customer service because I was thinking of pulling the above mentioned scenario in OP. I mean hell if I can come out on top with the cash back in hand then pay before 6months with no interest or penalty for early pay off.
You would probably have to wait 30 days for sprint to put your upgrade stays back into the system so Best Buy could sell it to you at the upgrade price.
Just to let you know, take your receipt and phone into Best Buy. You don't have to purchase it from Best Buy to get the insurance!

yes, do this. otherwise they'll need to call sprint to PM and you know how long that wait can be. your receipt will be proof of the lower price.
IMO it seems like you've already made a good decision. Your phone is paid for... Your done, no payments, interest, nothing hanging over your head. I'd consider all the time you will spend getting back to where you are now. As they say, time is money! Good luck.

AT&T Note 2 on backorder

i ordered my Note 2 from AT&T on Monday (straight off their website) and apparently it's on backorder.
anyone here have any experience with their shipping system? this is my first time ordering a phone off their website, and definitely my first time on backorder with them. was curious how long i should expect to wait before seeing my phone.
I ordered mine from a Premier phone rep. She said it was back ordered, but it shipped the next day.

i ordered it online because none of the stores in my area had it in stock on monday (closest one that had it in stock was 80 miles away). i called around and asked. guess i'll just have to wait and see how long it takes.
i was checking for the white version, btw. i'm kind of deadset on it, just prefer the way it looks by far over the grey.

I ordered on Saturday the 24th and was told it was in stock, then I called yesterday and they told me it was on back order, I got so mad at them for telling me one thing, and it was not true. Just an FYI the online matched the in store price for me. On black Friday my local att store was having buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 for 300 get the note #2 for 50.00 or a SG3 for free. I took the SG3 and sold it, and called the online division and asked if they would use my upgrade and sell me the note 2 for 50.00 and after getting the ok from his boss I am getting the Note 2 for 50. Can't wait to get it hope it is not on back order to long

I've been checking my local stores 2 or 3 times a week since launch, but haven't managed to get one yet. I did find one in stock last week, but when I got to the store, the line was out the door and I didn't feel like waiting.
At this rate, it sounds like I might as well just wait for the Note 3.

I noticed when i got mine a couple weeks ago they were sold out online, and it showed most stores around here as out or limited quantity, at least with the white one, only one store around here actually said "in stock" and thats where I got it.

well, after my third phone call to AT&T about this i was informed that the phone is NOT on backorder, the fulfillment center has my order in their system and is still processing it.
there is nothing they can do to expedite the process, they said check again on Monday and if it hasn't shipped by then call customer service yet another time.
how hard is it to package a phone and ship it off, seriously?
Walmart Wireless.com Order
I purchased my SN2 from Walmart wireless.com today for $299.99 with a $100 e-gift card and no tax. My shipping status shows awaiting inventory and before I ordered it there was a message saying it could take up to two weeks. I guess I will just wait and see what happens. From my research all of the other retailers in the area have the phone in stock or just got it in stock expect for Walmart. I am sure this is due to the $100 gift card. Anyone else order from Walmart wireless.com?

They'll let you put in your order without issue; there's no wait list at this point other than first-come-first-serve order fulfillment. You may still want to order online to get free overnight shipping; if that's not available, call.

I would recommend placing your order online and just play the waiting game. One, when I ordered mine at 6am on April 29th, it gave me a message stating that my item was backordered and wasn't expected to ship until May 1st, when it actually ended up shipping that night and I got it the next day. And secondly, you want to place the order online to get the next day delivery, even if it is out of stock. But I can't say that you won't get the overnight shipping if you call, not sure how that would work since I ordered mine online.
Also, just as a side note for those who are iffy about T-mobile's service, I've had my wifi turned on ever since I got my phone and the service is top notch... wayyyyyyyy better than Sprint, speaking from experience. Cheers mates!

same thing happened to me, i was told on MONDAY (29th) by a CS representative that they were back-ordered, however i took a leap of faith and order online on TUESDAY (30th) with next day shipping and it said it would be delivered on the May 8th, however they mailed it and i got it WEDNESDAY May 1st . i guess the trick is to order online with next day shipping, and as of right now they are offering free next day shipping. So the trick is ORDER ONLINE and then play the waiting game, if it doesn't ship by the 5th/6th just call back and cancel and get it in store on the 8th. U have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If they charge u for next day shipping when ordering online just call the TMO CS representative and mention to the the free next day shipping promotion and they will adjust the price. (call AFTER you make sure your UPS package has shipped using the tracking #, calling prior to shipping may lead to CS representative pushing back your order...you've been WARNED) From there GOOD LUCK and Enjoy your S4 whenever u get it.

You get taxed on the entire $630. You pay the whole amount of the tax with your downpayment (about $45 in my case). After that, it's only $20 a month (no additional tax).

i was/am and existing customer too. And the offer promotion didnt say existing customers excluded therefore it was valid for exisiting and non existing customers as long as u ordered on or before the 2nd of may they HAVE TO refund shipping, i would ask for corporate as it clearly stated on their website free next day overnight shipping if u order online valid until the 2nd of May. Anything less than a refund would be false advertising. Its really up to u how much effort u want to put into getting your money back and how well u explain it to them, but it really shouldn't be much explaining as the website clearly stated it was free next day shipping and its not your fault they didn't adjust their online ordering system to reflect the "promotion"

When they were out of stock yesterday I called them and got one ordered, said I was on a first come first serve list.
Called them at 10PM on the 2nd
2nd at 11PM said it was processed
10AM this morning the 3rd says shipped.
WOOOO
I ordered yesterday around noon and can't look up the order number... Called and they told me out of stock. But they have my money already

You should be able to. When you log-in to my.t-mobile.com, under Support on the top links, there is 'Order Status' on the very right. Put your order number and zip there. I have to do that since my new orders aren't showing up automatically on the Manage page.

$239.99 @ Costco

Costco has a huge display of these watches and their $10 off normal retail. Going to check my receipt to see if I'm within my return/price match window.

I only saw black. But you should be able to get bby to price match.
I literally just saw this post. I'm going to my local costco now hoping they are still on sale. I got my watch used for $240...
QUICK UPDATE!!! ATTENTION!!!
BBY has changed their price match policy starting 11/1 of this month for all purchases to be eligible for return by 1/31/15. You can call them and ask for an adjustment (they can look you up in their system). Make sure you call the store that you purchased it from. I just had my watch price-matched and am getting $10.67 back.
TOTALLY worth the effort.
FYI - I purchased my watch on 10/16 and it went through. So give it a try, especially if you're within your initial 30 days. The above is Costco's current price and not a BF price (which BBY won't honor).
Just got back from my store and not a single smart watch to be found anywhere :/

these were over by the cameras (in my store). hard to believe its a regional/local thing. that's a big inventory for just "one store". however, i just checked their site and couldn't find it. maybe try using the above photo at your local BBY?

I guess I'll be calling them every day for the next week. I have 30 days that I'm able to return this through eBay.
Return it FIRST.. Got mine on Friday and loving it .
HOW to Pricematch
I was trying to figure out how they do the price match since they don't show the price "officially" anywhere... but I got it.
For anyone reading that doesn't know how to get the price match, you tell the Bestbuy rep to call your local Costco and the sales rep there should say "$239.99".
It doesn't need to be on an ad, I basically trained the Bestbut rep cus he didn't even know how to do it :laugh:
confirmed when I bought one today.

FWIW a picture of the display should do it too. It's worked for me in the past.

No BB sales rep can do a price match without a manager's approval. Even if it were a seasonal employee fresh on the floor, they would still know to contact a manager or sales lead for approval and instruction on the process. No new hire I have ever seen takes instruction on internal processes from a customer. Surely trying to sound cool on XDA cannot be that important to you. And for what it's worth, you simply tell the employee that Costco has the watch normally priced below BB's price and you would like a price match. It's not like there's some secret method to accomplish this. Also, from Thanksgiving day til December 1st, it's BB policy not to price match anyone, so if you are hoping to get this done, do it before Thanksgiving day...or wait til after Dec. 1st. Although, a less busy store will likely do this for you during this time period, but again, it's at the manager's discretion.

The guy who I bought it from didnt contact anyone. But youre right, i was trying to show off on XDA! Not. I was simply posting it to help people, jerk. I went there and they didnt give me it on my first attempt because they had no proof. So I read the policy from their website. So they had to follow. But hey, what do i know, i dont have a cool minimum wage job at bestbuy like you do! Cheers to you man.
Not trying to highjack this thread but, I got it for 224.99 at Best Buy! I went to my local post office (ask the clerk) and got a movers pack. Inside the pack there's a 10% off coupon for Best Buy. Don't know if this was posted.
If you can get a price match AND 10% off that would be great.

FYI - my costco still has a full display of these things. I don't think anyone has taken a single one. I wouldn't be surprised if they're heavily discounted in the coming weeks.
The costco display is just pieces of cardboard. You have to take it to the cashier, then pick it up after checking out. I doubt they have enough stock for every piece of cardboard, the Costco I visited only had 15 or so when they got their stock.
Don't forget their return policy...AT LEAST one year for this, they said at a minimum they would match the manufacturer's warranty period. But I've read they take non-listed items (not computers, TVs, etc) back years later. Plus they are a great company.
Got mine there, and it was in the jewelry case of all places, with the other watches.

Costco MOTO360 now just 169.99
Just bought a 360 yesterday for 169.99 plus tax. It is 239.99 with an immediate manufacturer's rebate. Can't beat this price.
