Hello all,
My phone randomly got stuck in a boot loop (crashing after the black and white galaxy s3 splash screen) last night and is now on its last leg. I'm on stock ATT firmware; I had messed around with rooting a few months back but restored.
Now the phone will crash before entering recovery mode. I can get into Download mode and connect the phone to ODIN, but it will crash before it can begin rewriting the firmware. The phone just won't stay on for longer than ~20 seconds (I've tried with two different batteries). All I can figure is that there is a hardware power issue, but do you all have any ideas? If not, I fear I'll have to buy a new phone.
PS: I initially believed the power button was stuck and opened the phone up to make sure that wasn't the case, it was fine.

Hi everyone,
I am new as a poster to the forums here. Have been a lerker as needed for a year and a half or so now. Anyways, I have run into an issue with my S3. I have not attempted to substitute a custom ROM in place of the stock ROM, nor have I rooted the phone (I know, shame on me right?). When I awoke this morning, after a night charging, my phone now is stuck in a boot loop. It reboots and shows the battery charging spinning wheel sequence but never passes to the green battery indicator (Tested the battery in a friend's S3 and it is recognized and shows as being fully charged). After a moment it vibrates the screen goes black and when it comes back on simply remains in that same location. When holding Vol Up + Home + Power it attempts to start Recovery Mode but immediately fails and restarts taking me back to the boot loop. When holding Vol Down + Home + Power download mode remains on and working without issue. However, I tried to restore the stock ROM with ODIN and though it passed it remains in the boot loop (likely due to the fact that I was unable to wipe the phone in Recovery Mode first). Also, attempted Heimdall but it crashes. KIES is all but useless as it does not recognize the model SPH-L710 according to the error message given after entering the IMEI ID. Also tried pulling the battery, waiting, and then replacing but to no avail. Swapping batteries also does not resolve the issue. Have also remove additional SD card to isolate that from being the cause. So I am now turning to the excellent and knowledgeable community here for assistance. Thank you in advance for the help. Hopefully you can point me in the right direction.
Sprint Galaxy S3 LTE 16 GB
Model : SPH-L710
Thanks everyone,
Merlen
Sounds like it might be power button failure. There have been many reports of it. It's referred to as SDS, or sudden death syndrome.
Hi Wonder if anyone can help?
I downloaded mirror beta from the app store to mirror my Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T210 to my apple TV3g.
Once downloaded i was informed that the device had to be rooted, so I used Kingoroot and followed the instructions. Everything was fine during the rooting process and completed informing me that it was successful.
The problem is after this the Tab is stuck in a constant cycle mode of the Samsang GALAXYTAB 3 boot logo.
I have managed to power it off ( Black screen) but have been unsuccessful in getting the device into recovery mode to try an hard reset.
I have tried all the button combinations I could find on Google but it only just shows the galaxy screen. Any help would be much appreciated since it is my daughters tablet and ill be in a valley of it if I cant get it restored.
Thanks in advance
Have you tried to Boot your Tab into Download mode?
If this working , flash Stockrom with Odin.
I'm in a similar situation with the logo boot loop except I am unable to shut it down. I hold the power button for 10 seconds and it reboots right back to the logo again with no shut down. How can I shut this down?

I got in the same situation trying to root my Tab. I wound up holding the power button down a really long time and then gently releasing; then I booted it into recovery and there is an "unbricking your 10.1 " post on XDA that has a stock 4.2.2 link.
Once you get the thing into recovery, and it took several attempts (like for two days)- I had given up and was thinking I had finally truly bricked an android) I got it into recovery and then used Odin to flash the original stock rom and it worked. Then Samsung almost immediately downloaded the OTA and I was at 4.4.2 stock.
The sd card slot is broken, so I am still trying to get the tab rooted, but for now just having it functioning in stock form is better than that Galaxy emblem slowly flashing every 5 seconds until the battery dies (Itried that too, thinking it may somehow recharge and reboot and something would be different-no such luck)
But I found holding the button down persistently made the difference, at least it seemed to.
Good luck
Hi guys,
I left my phone on charge overnight and in the morning it was off and wouldn't switch back on.
A debrick image allowed me to get the phone into ODIN download mode (i couldn't get into the recovery mode though).
I have tried several different roms and now (i think) its on a stock 4.4.2 rom.
Odin seems to flash the phone without any errors but upon reboot shows "Booting Recovery..." then gets stuck in a boot loop.
I have even tried CWM - Odin seems to flash it without a problem but when it reboots it just shows "Booting Recovery..." and gets stuck in a boot loop (I have tried the Up Volume + Home + Power with no success).
Since it was on the stock rom and has never had a custom rom on it (until lately trying to fix it) it seems likely that the flash storage is dead or has bad sectors?
Any ideas? I have never had a phone die like this before
Thanks
I have exaktly the same problem and i think we are not alone.
Have you tried all usual things e.g. battery pull?

I've had an M9 for 2-3. After the first year I got my phone, I installed a custom recovery and rooted it but later uninstalled root and custom recovery. It has been fine ever since except recently. Last month, my phone randomly crashed for the first time and got stuck in the infinite bootloop. It was as if everytime it tries to boot up, it crashed during it. If I hit the power, vol up, and vol down button, I make it to the screen with the option to go into recovery, download, etc. But when I actually try to go into either bootloader, recovery, or download mode from that menu, it crashes and goes back to the white htc logo. I've have gotten the phone to bootup a couple times by leaving it in the freezer as it tries to boot up but after using it for 1-5 minutes, it crashes again. If I don't use the phone at all, then it usually wont crash. After a day or 2, the phone fixed itself. Then one morning, my notifications got stuck together and my screen became unresponsive. So I took my death sentence and restarted my phone and now my phone has been doing the same exact thing for a week. I don't know how to fix this problem because getting it crashes trying to go into recovery and trying to do a factory reset is risky since it could crash during the reset. If also manage to make it into safe mode thinking maybe an application or virus is causing this but the phone crashed in SAFE MODE so I don't know what the problem is. I doubt there is any saving this phone because is probably a hard ware problem but who knows. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.
Flash back to stock. Stock firmware fixes all sorts of issues.
So the other day I woke up and my S20+ wouldn't power on. I tried every key combo, I even pulled the back glass to make sure the battery didn't somehow get bumped loose. It had sat on the charger all night before it did this. I left it on the charger the whole next day while I got my old Note 10 updated to use until its fixed. Every few hours I would go over and try to start it, and finally when it did, it sent me to the blue screen saying it was flashed with unauthorized firmware and that it was locked. The phone has never been flashed with anything other than OTA updates. I managed to get it into download mode but every flash I've tried from Odin fails. Im at a loss here. I cant get into recovery mode and when I power it down to get out of download mode, it just keeps flashing the Galaxy S20+ screen over and over again, so i have to put it in download mode and let it sit until it shuts off on its own. Does anyone have any input on this?
