[Q] GPS "waiting for location"

There is an annoying problem when I use gps on my Tilt + google map with navigation: the foreground of the screen got stuck with a msg "waiting for location" even though the cursor moves on the map as I drive on the background. This made the gps practically useless.
I have kernel 2.63.25 with Thoughtlesskyle's fat-free build. THe google map + navi beta was downloaded from market.

Sounds to me like you might need a different radio rom. It can get your position by cellular tri-angulation still but it sounds like it was trying to use the gps still.

[Q] google maps navigation not showing start button.

my google maps navigation was working perfect until yesterday.but now after selecting the destination i cant see the start button.only preview button is there which i cannot use for navigation.what should i do>?please help.i am on cm 10.

Phone freezing while using Search

Google App 11.3.7.21
Since March update here's what happens:
- from the home screen I click on search bar at the bottom
- I type search terms and hit return
- I get the search results
- the top search bar contains the search terms
- I click on an item from the search results
- Chrome is opened
- I swipe back to go back to the search results
- the search results page is shown but...
... the top search bar is blank
... the phone is unresponsive for a few seconds (3-5 seconds)
... the top search bar is filled again with the search items
... the phone becomes responsive again
This happens only if gesture navigation is enabled: if buttons navigation is enabled the freezing issue disappear.
I have also tried in safe mode and the issue happens when gesture navigation is enabled and disappears with button navigation.
This happens also in other apps like Amazon. So seems to be a global problem.

Try the April update?

I have this bug after march update too
after April update it fixed.
But I got a more annoying bug
the system UI sometimes freezes while waking up after a long time of screen off

Lock Screen and Waze After Shutting Off Display

Running android 11 on my Samsung s20+. When I running waze I usually turn off the display when I am on the highway to save battery. When I tap to wake up the screen it always starts from the lock screen. Even if I have my bluetooth paired and added as trusted device, I can never get waze to stay on top.
How can I make sure waze stays on top and bypasses the annoying lock screen. In Waze pref I already have stay on top set.

i was having this similar issues. from what i was told theres no way to turn off the lock screen.. therefore theres no way to have an app overcede the lockscreen. if someone has a way id like to know as well.

In the secure lock settings, there is a setting "lock instantly with side key" unchecking this stop the auto lock.

Disable Google Maps, etc from running on lock screen?

I don't want Google Maps or any other apps running on the lock screen.
I'm not talking about app shortcuts, I'm talking about if you have Maps open and navigating and you lock your phone, when you turn it on again (not unlock) Maps and some other apps will display over the lock screen. (Like Uber Driver app).
Doesn't seem to be a permission...
