I love Action Memo functionality but I would like the ability to customize actions. Specifically, I would prefer to send lists of todo items from action memo to a different task manager than the s-planner (ex: Asana, Wunderlist, GTask , etc.). Anyone have any ideas?

I would like to do this, too.
I would also like a different app other than Action Memo to be triggered once the pen is pulled.
Oh how I await the Note 3 ROMs of the future...

Indeed friends, indeed... sign the bootloader unlock in my signature and there may be hope yet.
If OneNote had drawing support then we wouldn't even need action memo anymore..

Experts,
Normally (using TouchWiz), Pulling out the S-Pen will bring the S-Pen S-Notes Page buddy.
Is there any why to enable the same reaction when using Go Launcher.
I can only enable the pop-up S-note.
Regards,
No, you can't. Page buddy is a part of the Touchwiz launcher. So if you use a different launcher, you're going to miss out on the Touchwiz addons. I personally like touchwiz in this case. I plug in headphones, and I have the audio page, the same for the pen.
So... sorry No... It's part of Touchwiz.

I've just run into this same issue. I've really wanted to get a better launcher, like Nova, set up, but I really like Page Buddies for the S-Pen and headphone. I suppose I could create something in tasker for the headphones, but it wouldn't be quite as nice as unhiding a hidden launcher page. The one piece of this which DOES work is that when you do these items with a different launcher, you can still swipe the notification bar down and see the "recommended apps" so that gets you part of the way there, but it sure would be nice to be able to see these without swiping and also add other apps or widgets as you would like...
In tasker you could create your own page buddy with 'scenes'. Tasker scenes are not as beautifull, but it will work!
I'm curious to know what you'd change in the latest version of Samsung's TouchWiz UI for the Note 2. If you could design the next version, what would you add, remove, or tweak? I'm curious to see what the fans, and non-fans, would change.
For me, I would definitely want more functionality from the lock screen in the next revision. Having 5.5' of real screen estate means a lot of space for us to add extra info such as email/message content, info of last dialled/received call, more access to favourite apps, etc. I'd also like to be able to pull down the notification centre in the lock screen and be able to access the relevant notification from there. Lastly, I think the stock icons could go for a revision to give a more high-tech futuristic feel instead of the much cartoonish appearance it has now.
I'd make it look like Apex and just as customizable!
Done.
I would like a 5x5 or 4x5 grid size on the home screen,
Auto correct on the keyboard,
Resizable widgets (like we had on touchwiz 4.0),
Better Facebook integration,
And a few more s pen features
Cheers
Corey

I know I've probably said this before in another thread, but I really think that TouchWiz (and I mean the whole framework, not just the home launcher) on the Note 2 should be, and should have been from the get go, a hybrid ROM with PAD and PAL (per-app density and per-app layout) options baked right in. I mean, let's face it, some UI layouts of certain apps are just simply better and easier to use than others. YouTube and Gmail, for examples, are simply better experiences in a tablet layout.
Another thing that would have been nice to have would be capacitive buttons that respond to the SPen, instead of having to use gestures (just a minor niggle though).
Hello,
I would love to see a scrollable favorites contact widget with direct dial function (like HTC has.. )
I would lose the freaking gingerbread theme is all the Samsung phones....touchwiz and the whole framework is nice but looks totally dated to 3 years ago.

Which is exactly what you would expect.
If my phone was locked, I wouldn't want someone to be able to pick it up and read my notifications without having to enter the PIN/password etc.

A customizable lock screen would be nice, also would love it if I could turn on the screen with voice command.

New UI for E-mail
The black UI on the e-mail is shocking. Can never read e-mails outside. THis should change to white, or atleast have the option to change to white.
I would make it able to lock in reverse portrait mode.

I agree. Tried several others, but Apex is easy to use and very customizable. If it were like this most would never look to change to another launcher.

They should get rid of that ridiculous amount space berween the dock and the app shortcuts. I know theres a mod but they should change that. And ofcourse incread grid size especially with the columns so we can add more folders or apps in a single row. Also add the ability to be able to add folders within the app drawer or at the least allow to reorganize the apps to our liking. Also it would be nice if we could have the option to choose the folder icon background.

I like the TW UI, it's a lot easier and simpler than other branded UI's. Just some things,
1- Bigger grid size options, I mean, up to 8x8.
2- Enabling custom icons.
3- Scrollable dock.
4- Re-sizable icons, including dock.
5- Vertical menu in App drawer (I am not talking about the list view)
6- Not a must, but it'd be cool if they could allow a custom background for App drawer. I kinda like it and miss it from bloated Go Ex.

I would definitely want a Pop Up Dialer which should be designed for use with the s pen! and more pop up optimizations like a pop up calculator and such.
Pop ups and multi windows are different in this case !
Anyone come across a widget that you can write notes on directly? The s note widget is ok but it opens the native app before you can start writing. Was looking for something that I could write on the widget itself.

What about the built-in pop-up note where you double-tap on the screen with the S-Pen button pressed? Unlike the widget, this one pops up a floating notepad you can write on immediately, and when you finish you can save it into S Note.

That is truly a nice feature but I guess we are all looking for a widget that you can actually see what was written in the home screen. This is specially useful for the bigger screens like tablets but surely would work for the Notes as well.
Did you find something? I found go note widget but it works only with go launcher and i dont want it :/.
I would like to know if there is a way to have Nova launcher react differently or at all when taking out the Spen...I would like it to open up Snote or some app of my choosing when i remove the Spen from its slot, or at the very least, make it turn to a screen or quick memo page like it does on stock touchwiz...
PLEASE someone tell me this is possible.
That is a touchwiz feature I dont think you can do that with nova. At least you cant with stock nova. I dont know if someone can hack a way but I think they would have to tap into the spen sensor. Definitly not as easy as 123.
Damnit...so there wont be a mod or app or something I can install making it do that?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
First thing I would do, is contact the nova launcher's author, he might be able to do something.
More realistically though, would be to look at something like the program Tasker and see if you can have it respond to removing the S Pen and then perform the task of opening the desired application. I'm using nova launcher also, and removing the S Pen does initiate a sound, so even though I'm not using TouchWiz, Nova is recognizing the S Pen's removal. I'm no Tasker expert, but this sounds like something it would do.

Contact the Nova dev. Let them know about the SPen SDK and tell them the feature you want them to add.

Thabks guys!! I will do just that! Ill look into tasker for the time being and ill see that hopefully it will work out!

You can get the S Note to open when you take out the S Pen. I this works with ADW Launcher EX, Nova Launcher/Prime, Apex Launcher/Pro, Go Launcher, Samsung's TouchWiz, etc...
From Home Screen > Menu Key > "Settings" > "S Pen" > add a check by "Open Popup Note".
Also remember that you can use the "Quick Command" with S Pen to do lots of things with. And you can customize the "Quick Command" too.
The only thing I find not working with other launchers, like ADW Launcher EX, Nova Launcher/Prime, Apex Launcher/Pro, Go Launcher, etc... is the Page Buddy. Developers out there, we would love to have and even pay for a Page Buddy that works with the other launchers.
It would be awesome if a Tasker app worked with the S Pen. Then you can customize actions to more S Pen behaviors.

And do split-screen features work with alternative launchers ?

If you're talking about multi-window, then yes, it works just fine with nova. I have nova prime and I use multi-window just fine. I also use Tasker and Secure Settings to set my phone up so that when the s-pen is removed, it uses the samsung keyboard handwriting mode, and when the s-pen is inserted, it turns it back to Swiftkey.

On the note 3 we were able to copy a calendar event by selecting the event and then the menu button. With no menu button on the note 4, it looks like this option was removed. I have tried selecting the event and the 3 dot menu to no avail.
Does anyone know how to do this on the note 4?

Have you tried holding down the recents button so that it functions as the menu button? I haven't tried it myself but it should work unless the option was specifically removed on the Note 4

I liked it also. I am currently using my Note 3 on WiFi to plan out my schedules every Monday because of that. Have a lot of similar tasks that are not on a repetitive schedule that this saves me a lot of time by copying and a king small edits.
ACalendar allows you to copy events.
