I am on Tmobile. I noticed yesterday that I wasnt receiving text. I can send them only. I called Tmobile Then yesterday afternoon I got 15 msgs at one time. Then nothing. I called Tmobile and was told to pull the battery and sim card...still nothing. I called Tmobile today and they had me clear my cache, uninstall 3rd party sms app and delete all text....still nothing. Tmobile said they were going to escalate it and would be in touch in 72.
Any help would be appreciated. Btw i havent installed any apps and my phone is stock. It was working early yesterday morning but not since then
Go into the dialpad and punch in *#*#4636#*#*, then select phone info
And take a look at "message waiting" status
In the same menu you can also try tapping the button
"Turn on SMS over IMS" to saying "Turn off SMS over IMS"

hi all,
majo problem has appeared tonight with my orbit.
everytime I tried to send a text I get an error box popping up telling that
"your text message cannot be sent"
I've got signal, credit, and even done a soft reset but still get the same message!!
any ideas??
update...must be a network thing as I can't phone out, can't call in either (but surely it should divert to my answerphone??) on T-Mobile btw
i had the same too. my orbit is still under warranty. sent it back to 02 for repairs. dont know what they did but it works now
Select 'start.settings.phone'
On the Services tab, select 'voice mail and text messages'
Select 'get settings'
you should have +447958879879 in text messages and +447987675380 in voice mail if you are on T-Mobile
Good Luck
Eric
My phone has stopped sending SMS messages. I can type them, with a recipient, but when I hit send, nothing happens. My SIM has not had SMS outgoing turned off, so it is a setting or code within the Dash.
I am running Unlocked Tmo WM6 on Rogers Wireless in Canada.
There must be a setting? Help!
Thanks...
When was the last time you had a successful sms sent out? Have you altered any settings recently? If not, I'd call Rogers and make sure they didn't disable sms from your account and see if they can help get you back up and running!
I had tried resetting a few times, with no change, I eventually fixed it by simply pulling the battery out for 5 minutes...
Thanks!
Help. I am completely frustrated.
My tmobile touch pro 2 all of a sudden can not receive any text messages. When I switch out my sim card to another phone it gets texts immediately so there is nothing wrong there.
I've already tried resetting the phone many times and even left the battery out before doing so. When I send a text message to my own phone number from the phone I get a text back from the system administrator stating that the message was not delivered and that I should check the address and try again.
I've used other phones and texting services to try to send myself texts but nothing comes through. Is there anything else I can do?
Glad to see I was not the only one having this problem. I had to call customer service and they sent me a new phone.

Did you recently install any new apps? I had that problem at one time, and realized that it was the app that i downloaded that caused my text messages not to work. the app that casued the error for me was True Caller. Once i uninstalled the app and soft reseted my phone, the text messages worked perfectly again.
I hope this helps.
Anyone else having a persistent "new voicemail" notification that won't go away?
It's been there ever since I popped in my T-Mobile SIM.
I've looked at some other forums with other phones with the same problem. On a CM ROM, there's a clear all notifications. On some other phones, there's a setting which isn't available in our phone settings.
I remember having the same "problem" when I bought the Nexus S. I'm getting my Galaxy Nexus tomorrow so I don't know 100%, but on Gingerbread, you'd have to go into Settings >> Call menu. Inside there was a "clear voicemail" option, or something to that extent. Again, I'm sorry I don't know about ICS.
Also what you can do is if you have no voicemails, call T-Mo and ask them to remove voicemail from your account altogether, and then add it back. Of course you'd have to re-record your greeting and all that.
Yeah that's what all the prior forum posts said. Too bad that option is not here in ICS.
Well, I'll try leaving a message and erasing it to see if that does anything.

That happened to me just the other day when I got a new sim from T-Mobile since my previous one was ~4 years old.
Anyways, make sure you delete all of your voice mail messages. Then call yourself from another phone and leave a message! Go back on your phone a delete it, that solved it for me
EDIT: ...lol didn't notice that you said that's exactly what you were going to do
Well, exactly what you suggested (as I was doing it) worked =)
ALSO, because I was installing apps and such on the phone for a few days before I popped in the SIM, I ran grooveIP. Probably because of this, all my voicemail numbers were set to the google voice voicemail number (for unanswered, unavailable, or busy). Not sure if that had anything to do with it, since the voicemail notification was from the TMob 805 voicemail #. Regardless, I switched them back to the Tmob one (had to do this manually).
And after calling and leaving myself a message, it resolved itself as soon as it got notification of the new voice mail (didn't even have to delete it).
Thanks all.
Hey all,
Finally got this phone (551 WW) on Friday, popped in a SIM card this morning. All is going fine so far except...
I had a voicemail waiting for me, so I answered it, and deleted it, but the VM notification won't go away. I cleaned up "Telephone Service" app and that got rid of it for a while, until the next voicemail came along.
I checked with my service provider, the only advice they had was to clear the phone app as well (they don't support BOYD's, even though they have a strong "bring your own device" program.
I rebooted as well, that got rid of it (for now), and (just now) set call forwarding (busy and unanswered) to my home line (which I wanted anyway - since that line I get VM's by email), so I shouldn't have the problem anyway.
So I may have a better solution than when I started out - as long as my phone stays on - but it begs the question, how come the notification sticks around?
It would be nice to turn this feature off (as I get text messages from my provider when I have new VM's anyway). I just don't see that option.
