Any answer would be speculation. We don't know.
I heard they were rumored to but it might be a while. Still I like it as is

Sorry my crystal ball is broken.
Seems it is confirmed http://www.phonearena.com/news/LG-t...devices-to-Android-4.4_id51571#2-LG-G-Pad-8.3
According to our tipster, many of LG's devices will be going straight to Android 4.4, skipping right over Android 4.2 and Android 4.3 in most cases. Among the models cited by our source are the LG Optimus F3, LG Optimus F6, LG G Pad 8.3 (including Verizon model), LG G Pro Lite, LG Optimus F7, LG-D315 (unannounced), LG LS740 (rumored to be the successor to the LG Optimus F3), LG Optimus L9 II, LG Optimus Vu II, LG Vu III, and the curvy LG G Flex.

Nothing is confirmed until you hear an official statement from LG.

LG to release Optimus G next month bit.ly/OG82Id

Looks exactly like a bigger Optimus 2X with a different back.
The 4X looks way better in my opinion (still the G looks about 1000 times better than the S3 :laugh
The G will make my June 2012 2gig ram Optimus LTE 2 phone cheaper and far less popular, but technically this phone rocks and I have no regrets. I've had minor problems that have been fixed. I recommend the LTE 2 as a reliable awesome cheaper alternative to a very expensive "G".

S3 is one ugly brick. I love my S2 but if Sammy continues with curvy designs and shiny funky color schemes like S3, I may have to look elsewhere at the year end. From the specs, Optimus G seems to have it all and a killer screen too. Can't wait for it to come to AT&T.
I thought this thing was supposed to be unveiled at IFA, now I wonder when this will be out in the market.
The LG Optimus G will be available for purchase in Sept n SKorea.

I think that is absolutely the most beautiful looking phone out there, without a doubt! Therefore I am so f*****g happy that I am a tester for LG:s phones so I will receive that one for free to test it!
How do i sigh up for that job? Who wouldnt test phones? What are the requirement for the job? Anything special?

Actually it wasn't anything I signed up for or applied, I won a competition LG hosted in Sweden so I received a LG Optimus 4X HD which I wrote a 6-pages review on and also did a youtube-review and kept a good relation with those at LG so they said that I can be a tester for their upcoming phones as well

I am talking with LG Sweden, but if I have any good pointers or proposals they forward them to LG center. In my report that I will send in today I have written about some suggestions to be in the v10g update and I took all the proposals I found here on XDA, I also wrote about that LG should unlock their bootloader.

I have a feeling the release of Optimus G will also be very much delayed like the O4X, seeing that they keep on delaying and moving the release dates of the videos on their teaser site. Maybe you should also write to them about punctuality and sticking to their schedule.
I agree with the release date stuff. LG should be sort of like Blizzard Entertainment. Best stuff...no release dates until finalized.

Tell LG i want a quadcore serial processor with 2 Nvidia CUDA GPUs. One gpu for graphics and another gpu for parallel processing. Offload video and video editing and such to the GPUpu. I dont care if the phone is a bit thicker. I want THIS phone.
The Tegra 3 has 12 cuda cores in its GPU. Lame. I want more CUDA cores.

I have added this to my report that I will send to LG tomorrow, I haven't experienced the delay of release, probably because I haven't been so up to date with LGs releases, but I wrote it in my report so I will se what they respond!

This video released today is the closest thing to the actual design of Optimus G. The phone looks nice and looks like it's better to hold off buying the O4X now. September 19 might be the launch date for this device.
LG : Just like Samsung, LG hasn't issued any official release regarding updates but since Nexus 4 is getting one, it is safe to assume that others will follow suit. Remember Optimus G is very similar to Nexus 4 on the insides. The following LG devices may get updated soon.
Optimus G
Optimus G Pro
LG Optimus L7 2 Dual
Optimus G2

It's just speculation. Going by LG's history, though, updates are the last thing they're gonna give. With LG, it's like, "Want a newer iteration of Android? Then buy our latest flagship." Which is sad, because they make some really good phones.
I think next month Android 4.3 update...

The LG OPTIMUS PRO never received an update. I would like a report from LG LG. OPTIMUS GN2 comes with Android 4.2.2
I called the support in Brazil and nobody knows if it will be updated and when.
Is there any date or timeline?
Thank you

They mean that if you call their call center, they can provide you more details as to what is going on with a possible (if any) Android update.
They don't mean that if you call them, they'll update your phone.
Just making sure it's clear

Do European models of the LGOG come with 4.2.2?
Sent from my LG Optimus G
Nope.
So no update for the OG? Damn....
So far the only official version we have is 4.1.2 for all variants.
Would be nice even if one variant gets 4.4 cause then it can be ported like how the Korean rom was ported and then later the HK one before NA officially got 4.1.2
Just remember, the fragmentation of Android don't benefits the Google... So the company has been trying recruiting all devices eligible to dissemination of SO... Including LGOG... Maybe not in October, but most fast possible.... My opinion

LG would be the saddest smartphone company if they didn't update their one year old Flagship. Take hints from Samsung, LG
Sent from my LG Optimus G
Most smartphone users do not care about software updates. They do not know the importance of it. Just want Facebook working well on a big screen and durable battery. Why in my opinion it would take to update our OG is trying to avoid fragmentation of Android, not the anxiety of a minority of users ...

If such phones like the L7,L5 and L3 will get the update im sure that our G will get it too.
C'mon guys what a comparison L3 vs the G, its more a joke.
LG should drop their own software and form a partnership with Cyanogenmod. Simple as that. No problems with software and they could only concentrate on hardware.
please not!!!!

Weird how LG replies with news of an update, when they ignore everyone who needs support
I'm hoping above all else that we do, but it just seems weird that an LG phone would be among the first to receive an update considering the company's history

I think the Nexus devices would have the exclusivity for at least a month before any other device gets the update.
