You need usb stick plugin for commander. You will need to pay for it and it only works with total commander file manager but it does allow NTFS access....

Hi guys, this is my first post so I hope it will be helpful
If you want your SM-P600 to mount and read NTFS formatted Hard drives you will nee to install the kernel shown here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2615959
After you do that you can install Paragon or USB OTG helper, the hard drive should be mounted and your tablet should be able to show the files on it if you use ES file explorer

[Q] OTG App

Hi,
I would just like to ask if there is a app that will enable the OTG NTFS flash drive? btw, my phone is not rooted and I'm wondering if there is an app for non-rooted device to enable OTG NTFS drives.
Thanks,
Doesn't OTG support NTFS by default? Or is it limited to FAT32? I read that NTFS drives can be recognized properly.
I tried last night my OTG cable connected to my HOX and my 32GB NTFS Flash disk and it's not detected. It says Blank USB.... So I wonder If I need an app or there is an app to support NTFS Flash Drives to connect to HOX via OTG cable?
Thanks
I use usb otg helper for my ntfs 2tb external hdd. I haven't tried it with a ntfs flash drive, I'd imagine it would work though.
edit: I don't recall it asking for root.

U have to be rooted.
so maybe there are no app that can make it without rooting. all of it needs root access.
An ext3 formated drive might work.

[Q] Ext HDD + OTG + NTFS mounting on this tablet - Anyone got it to work?

Has anyone got NTFS mounting to work, specifically from an OTG adapter and external hard drive? I see an old thread about NTFS mount, but the search function is broken on XDA (when clicking on a search result, it just takes you to the front forums page, not the actual thread you clicked on), so I can't read it.
I tried Paragon NTFS+, which works with my hard drive drive & OTG adapter when using my LG G2, but on my Note it fails to mount. Paragon doesn't give an error message, it just tries to mount for a few seconds then does nothing. I also tried NTFS Mounter, which crashes when trying to mount.
I ended up using Wireless File Transfer Pro to transfer a large file because MTP is broken on my laptop with all devices. I've tried everything under the sun to fix MTP, but it's just broken until I reimage this machine.
FWIW, I'm using CleanROM 1.5.

There are a couple NTFS Mount apps on the Play Store, none of them are working as of yet though.
When trying to mount using ntfs-3g and fuse.ko by hand, ntfs-3g stops with some sort of permission error.
My guess is it doesn't work with SELinux on Enforcing yet.

USB Plugin for total commander works.. It's a paid app but it works... Only thing though, you need to Total Commander as the File manager. It will also copy a file, temporarily, to the tablet. But it does read the NTFS 1.5Tb drive I plug in....

[Q] NTFS over OHG

Hello,
I just bought an ohg cable and tried to connect some usb drives to it. FAT storages are working fine, but i cannot mount ntfs drives. I tried tools like "Paragon NTFS & HFS mount", but it seems that the system itself unmounts (USB Safely Remove) the storage automatically, before these tools can mount them. How can i stop the system to behave like that? Phone is a T-Mobile (DE) One M8 on KitKat 4.4.4 (root access).
Thank you in advance.

You could stop it by going FAT32.
Just sayin.....
Why is NTFS so important to you?
Is it just because it's new?
Use what works. Problem solved.
FAT32 doesn't support files larger then 4 GB.

How do i read external hdd with NTFS file system?

Hi.
Android does not support NTFS supposedly, but you can install apps that allow android to read an NTFS file system.
I have an powered otg lead, and it can read fat32 external hdd with no problems, it`s just ntfs i am having problems with.
There are a few apps on Google Play.
Can anybody recommend an good app, I am rooted but my brother in law`s 10.5" is not, so an app that works without rooting will be great.
Thanks
John.

I'm on stock 5.0.2 no root same 10,5" t805 . May be you must upgrade to lolipop or if your brother won't to upgrade , the choice is must be root the tab, or try again to format your flashdisk to NTFS and then pluged again
I have Root and my brother-in-law is on lollipop, this is really for my brother-in-law, so lollipop is compatible with NTFS? , according to google it does not.
Thanks
John.

Yes it's compatible , try it
You can consider to use this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-RAVP...TVHC81D7&dpSrc=sims&dpST=_AC_UL160_SR160,160_
My brother-in-law will be happy to know this, less messing about.
Thanks
John.

My brother-in-law tried his 2TB WD USB Drive and it is not detected on his T800, but if he plugs in an Usb-Flash-Stick the stock file explorer automatically opens and shows the files straight away.
My brother-in-law does not even know hot to find out what files system his usb 2tb hdd is, but i think it must be ntfs.

Usb drive must ntfs because fat32 can't proses file above 4gb, you need usb Otg with additional power because the power from tab s not enough to proses 2tb usb drive

Thanks
John
Ok, A member on the NBR forum, told me how to read NTFS without root for free "Get total commander and the USB stick plug in and you can read and write NTFS without needing root"
John.
Have you tried with ES file explorer?

NTFS Support

I am planning to use my 1TB Seagate Drive with my OnePlus 3. Just wondering is NTFS supported by default or some tweaks needed to make that happen?
I think the official twrp supports formatting to NTFS. No other tweaks needed

My drive is NTFS formatted. Will it work on my device directly when I attach it through OTG?
Oneplus 3 has NTFS drivers built in the stock kernel. By default it detects my drive formatted in NTFS format without any 3rd party softwares.

do your external HDD have an external power source or you just hope that the phone itself will give enough juice to the HDD?

its ok...the 3rd party softwares(es file explorer and total commander) were the problem...uninstalled them..then my external hard drive was shown...
Ok this is strange, this worked. Removed ES file explorer and the hard drive worked.
I love ES though, anyway to keep it and get the drive to work?

Update, reinstalling ES after the HDD was read seems to work. Still the inbuilt file manager works much better than ES
