any help appreciated

Yes, that is the stock ROM. Before running the Ruu, backup everything including the sdcard.
Sent from my One X

where do i find the stock recovery.img??

No need stock recovery, the ruu will fix everything, relock the bootloader with
fastboot oem lock
Leave the phone in fastboot usb. Right click on the .exe and run it as administrator. Let the ruu do the rest. Make sure your phone is fully charged.

[Q] Bootloader version error

I have unlocked my OneX, root it using PaulBrien's method, and then stripped off all the sense stuff. I didn't install any custom rom all these while.
Then I decide to revert back to stock. I do the following
1. flash back stock recovery
2. lock back the one-x using fastboot oem lock
3. run the ruu executable.
It worked as I managed to complete the ruu flashing process, and proceed with the system upgrade OTA to 1.28
then, I had problem with the rooted 1.28 (again stock 1.28 rooted using Paul's version) so I did a CWM recovery back to my rooted 1.26 ROM.
Now, I decide to flash stock rom back to my OneX, I repeated the steps above, and instead I got this error from the RUU app.
Any reason what has happen? I even tried flash the 1.26 signed boot.img prior to step 3, but it still yield the same problem.
Thanks...
Since you updated to 1.28 you need the 1.28 RUU. When you updated it changed you hboot

I didn't know it change the hboot.
can I flash 1.26 hboot over?
strangely, I didn't have the problem the first time round, maybe something went wrong in between.

i dont think so until we get S-OFF
this problem happen for me
you are only download other ruu
only other ruu download and enjoy
You need the 1.28 RUU as you've done the OTA 1.28 update.
If your version is 1.28.707.10, here is the RUU : http://bit.ly/IjzQwM
Else, please let us know your software version no. and someone will point you to the right RUU.

Go back to stock ROM

Hello guys,
I have installed on my HTC One X ARHD rom and now i want to get back to stock because i am planning to sell it. My HBOOT is 1.12.000 and my CID is VODAP001. I dont have a nand backup(my mistake).
After i flash stock recovery and relock the bootloader i try to run the RUU for Vodafone UK but it says BOOTLOADER ERROR
Any idea how to proceed in running stock again ?

[Q] HTC One X, OTA update to Jelly Bean

Hi guyz. I have my HTC One X which was carrier branded to optus. i wiped and flashed a stock rom and stock recovery, which took away the optus splash screen and bloatware. I've realised that optus approved of the jellybean update but its not appearing on my phone. also do u need to lock the bootloader for ota updates? also a basic description of why and what android sdk is.
thanks in advance
Its because you have a stock ROM that's based off another region and not the actual Optus stock ROM which you need, the bloat ware and carrier logo at boot up should be present in order to receive OTAs.
What you should do is download the Optus nano droid backup in the general section and restore it to return to stock.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
ok thanks. im downloading the nandroid backup for htc one x jellybean optus from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
is there a way to get stock jellybean sense rom on my device? or remove the splash screen and bloatware after i flash the optus backup
thnx
Yeah... Install one. Mike1986 has a stock JB ROM.
So, after you return to stock and receive the JB update, you'll be ready to install a custom JB ROM.
ok thanks guyz. i got one more question, im getting the stock nandroid jb rom for optus, do i have to update my hboot or anything like that? befor flashing?
UPDATE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1546970 this is a stock jb rom for one x, can i flash this instead of the jb optus nandroid backup (the hosting site is annoyingly slow). and again do i need to update hboot for this rom, if yes how. thanks
You need a stock rom from Optus and the stock recovery to be able to update the phone. Restore the Optus nandroid, flash the boot.img from the nandroid and flash back the matching stock recovey, then you can update the phone
thats good. but im asking, is it neccessary to update my hboot for the JB optus nandroid backup? and for a stock htc JB rom?
You need to restore the nandroid backup that matches the software number of the phone ! If its 2.17 you should restore the 2.17 Optus nandroid and update officially to JB, the update will take care of flashing the higher hboot to 1.36 or even 1.39. After that you have to flash a custom recovery and flash a custom rom again.
Fastboot getvar version-main
That will say which one you need.you can't just restore the JB nandroid. The hboot has to be updated for JB roms
ok thanks, but i also have the hboot for jelly bean (optus), which i got from here http://d-h.st/users/ClydeB1/?fld_id=8110#files
can i use jelly bean flasher and flash the hboot 1.36. then the JB rom?
the reason why is that i cant find a nandroid for ics optus. so im thinking of any other ways
Yes if the cid matches you can flash the firmware that will bring you to a higher hboot and flash JB roms
I see a Optus 2.17 backup here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
Does it match your cid ?

Rather than commit suicide, could try installing a version of clockworkmod that isn't ancient. I suggest 5.8.4.0.
No need for suicide !

Install better batt stats, and check what's eating your batt !
I did. It shows mostly deep sleep and awake time

As i recall this right you have to check for partial wakelocks. Charge the phone full before you go to bed and leave it off the charger overnight
Update hboot optus001 manually
Hi i was wondering how you flash the hboot as mentions in the earlier post, I to need optus001 2.17 nandroid backup but cant get it unless link is changed to public.
However it seamed that your work around got u there, I have dowmloaded the hboot 1.36 optus zip & the recovery 5.8.4.0 file, I have also downloaded ARHD 18.1 + boot img.. I'm currently hrunning ARHD 9.7..
So were can i get a hboot flasher compatible with optus001 cid & is this all the stuff i will need & is there any threads that may help walk me thru the process's..
Any help would be great, I seemed to have it down packed till i went back to stock & optus updated my hboot to 1.12 after this my stock ruu wont work & i seem stuck. (Reading threads its clear that if i had restarted my phone one more time the JB update would have been there & all this stress saved)
Kind regards
Clemenator
Get your firmware.zip from the download link in this thread (by ClydeB) your cid is exactly Optus_001 ?
http://d-h.st/mBx
then put the phone in fastboot usb mode, lock the bootloader and follow this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
You have to flash the firmware.zip with the given commands in the thread.
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash firmware.zip
All this is done with a locked bootloader and the phone in fastboot usb mode.
After the fastboot oem rebootRUU command the phone will restart and stall in a black screen with a silver HTC logo then you perform the firmware flash. Unlock the bootloader again and flash a custom recovery, then you are ready for JB
NOTE : charge the battery before you start !!!

Confused about Jelly Bean Update.

Hi.
My wife has a HTC one x, which I have upgraded a few months back with ARHD v9.4
Its a vodafone australia HTC one x.
cid: vodap021
hboot: 043
I would like to update it to a curreny Jelly Bean Rom. What is the process for me. In the ARHD Jellybean instructions, it says not to flash if your CID is not on the list,( and my vodafone CID is not).
I also notice Vodafone Australia has released a JB upgrade (which I cant install OTA because I have ARHD..)
So my question really is..
1. Can I install the latest ARHD.. if so how., then If not..
2. How do I go about reverting to stock so I can install the Vodafone Australia Jellybean update? - which as I understand is available OTA.
Thanks for any help.
Do a fastboot command
Fastboot getvar version-main
My guess it will match this number
http://androidfiles.org/ruu/securek...Radio_1.1204.105.14_release_260561_signed.exe
Only your main version will probably start with 1.26 or 1.28. If so you can run this ruu
Put the phone in the fastboot usb mode and lock the bootloader
Fastboot oem lock
Then keep the phone in fastboot usb mode with the locked bootloader and right click the RUU and select run as admin !
Tip : backup the sdcard and charge the batt to full before starting !
hi.
I have run the command.
Fastboot getvar version-main
version-main: 1.26.862.3
still confused on what to do from here.
Do I have to go back to stock Vodafone ROM first so I can do OTA jellybean, or can I flash straight to ARHD Jellybean.
Thanks.
You need to update your firmware. You can flash it directly, or you can return to stock and get OTA.
Run the ruu and afterwards update the phone, when all the updating is done and you are on JB, unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery and make a NANDROID BACKUP ! After that you can start flashing JB roms.
And copy the stock rom backup to your pc, you might need it to have future updates

[Q] HOX freezes on boot (both on custom and stock roms)

Hi to all
well, to keep this short, hox tegra on orange uk (cid orang001) so it's still s-on, unlocked the bootloader using hasoon2000's thread and tool (great piece of work btw, thank you), installed twrp, then installed android revolution JB, after wich the phone got stuck freezing during the htc logo at boot
tried to revert back to stock, freezing on boot still, one of the problems is I can't update the hboot- fastboot oem lock, fastboot flash zip etc. sends back an "failed to write, no permission" error and I'm not sure I understand how to flash a RUU from the recovery or fastboot
hboot is 1.12 still and radio is 2.1204.105.14
some advice as to where I have gone wrong is much appreciated, thank you
Do these commands in order to update the hboot:
fastboot oem lock
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (repeat this command until it succeeds)
Then you should be able to unlock the boot loader, flash twrp and flash the boot.img of arhd.

Thanks for helping me out, okay so on rebootRUU command the phone shows a black screen with htc in silver, that's the mode for installing RUU's am I correct and while in this mode I tried to push the hboot file but it says (remote: 12 signature verify fail), I suppose the stock recovery that I tried is not good enough, at this point I'm a bit lost in the heap of files, would you mind directing me to a recovery I could use?
Correct. It doesn't matter at all which recovery you have... the problem must be your fimware file. Did you take the right one based on your CID?
like I said I got lost in the myriad of files)) okay so I followed your thread "[INFO] Where to acquire EndeavorU RUUs" and I'm currently downloading RUU's from Android Files, there's three of'em for orang001 and I've tried installing the newest but it said that the bootloader version doesn't match, oh, and now my radio is 5.1204.162.29 can I just try running the two left RUU's and see what happens?
It must match
fastboot getvar version-main
Also, you must relock the boot loader before running a RUU (fastboot oem lock)
Sent from my IceCold One X
okay, the bootloader was relocked, problem was RUU version, mine is 2.17.61.3 and I can't find a RUU of that version anywhere, there's a nandroid backup link but it's down I've searched for a "re-upped" post but couldn't find that either. guess "today is not a good day for science"
RUU/nandroid unavailable. Firmware.zip is your only chance.
What happens if you try to flash it? It should say OKAY after 2-3 tries.

can I use this for flashing then?:

cidnum: ORANG001
Download: firmware.zip with hboot 1.36

Saved my life, thank you so much!
So I got it back to stock with hboot 1.36 and radio 5.1204 and also I suppose it's a JB now as opposed to Ice Cream before?
Now if I unlock it, flash twrp and nandroid bkup I should be able to flash it with ARHD 21 JB?
also might you tell me if unbranding it would mean s-off?
and just a small unrelated question, running a wifi hotspot tether on a 2.3.7 is accessible by the pc and an iphone but cannot be seen by Ice Cream and JB, why is that?

Yes, you can flash arhd 21.
You'd need s-off in order to unbrand, which is not available for our hox.
Don't know about the WiFi tether thingy, maybe it works fine on arhd...
