yeah Onex's bettery life sucks , but it should go to 12 hours with wifi , try turning your data connection off , it consumes too much battery.

I get around 14-15 hours of battery life with WiFi on most of the time. Screen on time is about 3 hrs per charge .

I have updated my phone to 4.2.2 with sence 5.battery drain is going very fast.It is about 3-4 hr from full charging.plz help

One X battery fix?

Okay so I presume all of you one X power users have noticed a the horrible battery performance. I only got my one x yesterday and I'm already frustrated with the fact that i yet again have to carry my charger around with me. Is there a fix? I have root and custom recovery. So if there is a fix for this please someone let me know.m
Since I flashed the Revolution HD I got excellent battery performance. Without doing too much stuff (just calling and texting), battery remains > 50% at the end of the day. I would really recommend that rom.
I've just flashed it, going to see how it goes. But I would've expected HTC to bang a beast of a battery for the beast of a processor and massive screen its gotta run. Oh well, still early days, hopefully we'll see massive software improvements.

I'm getting 6-7 on a full charge at the moment, but that's down to me being a power user.

And also you just got the phone yesterday. Batteries take about 10 charge cycles to reach full potential.

Not really, no. Personally I did not unlock device, neither root it, neither installed any fix. And I must say that I'm more happy with battery life than I was with my previous phone SGS2. More then 16 hours here with 4 accounts synchronization on, 3g/wifi on, and sometimes gps + music on (for Endomondo). I'm really happy with my One X.
ARHD Rom, auto-brightness, plain wallpaper, no haptic feedback, no roaming, managing syncing, and a few other tweaks will leave this devices battery life as one of the best.

Yep. Relax. I got 6 hours from first charge, 10 hours from second charge, 12 hours from third charge...
After over two weeks I'm now getting between 18 and 24 hours. Give it a couple of weeks before judging battery life.

I try to use as much as I can the first few days, and time it so that you have about 10-30% charge left when you reach home from work/school and then I let it charge overnight.
I know quite a lot of time was spent idle, but 60% after 7 and a half hours isn't too bad http://twitter.com/Dev_Meltus/status/194082996767309825/photo/1/large
I've not really had a problem with battery life so far.

how did u use it on those 7 hours? idling?
Have been seriously contemplating getting the One X.
My first choice had been the Galaxy S3..... but the One X seems the better choice.... I have had the iPhone 4 for almost 2 years, so now it's almost upgrade time If the Galaxy S3 had no physical home button I would be taking it.
Had been worried about the battery life of the one x but after reading these and a few others it seems worth it and it's available in black (dark grey but darker than S3 metallic blue)
I Just hope I don't have issues with app incompatibility for the apps I use on iPhone.
With normal usgae, I've got more than 10 hours after one charge. Not so happy with it but it's good enough for me.

have you got yourself the One X? if so, how is it compared with your previous phone?
i also want to swap my iphone 4 with One X and looking for different experiences especially with the battery life
I've turned everything off and left my phone on idle, my battery issue has persisted for over 6 months now (I bought it in Singapore on release day). With screen on min brightness, static wallpaper, most apps off, my battery drains fully within 6 hours. If I actually do anything with it like make phonecalls, it drains in hours. The battery phone is constantly hot, when on charge It's almost too hot to hold. If while on charge (AC) I use it to make a call, it complains that it's not receiving enough power. Should I look to get a replacement from HTC? I'm still using stock rom so it should be covered under warranty?
Sounds like the htc amaze battery overheat..
Also get gsam battery app.. it will tell you what apps are using what % of battery.
I also use advanced task manager from play store.. it proved to me how much gmaps Facebook and other bloat was ALWAYS RUNNING!.. I got root and froze it all with big improvements
Some of us who htc amaze w no warranty bought a new battery and that fixed it
e-Sex.. All of the carpral none of the tunnel

Aside from your time travel/exaggeration, I suggest better battery stats, finding out what is causing wake lock, and killing.it.
Your phone is fine, but you have some crapware on it.

[Q] HTC One X - Battery Consumption (How long does it last?)

Hi there,
I am a proud owner of HTC One X ..
TO me, this smartphone is awesome, its fast and i love the design.
I'm ok with the heat, at times it is HOT, but due to its Quad Core processor, well, i can live with that...
BUT battery wise... How long can yours last ?
I'm pretty new at Android and this phone makes me busy because i am trying to keep up with the Android world... And boy... i'm glad to leave my IPHONE in my drawer... No more IOS !!
Is there any fix to the Battery issue?
If there is, have you guys tested how long more can it last ?
I can use for 2-3 hours and i'm left with 45% battery !!
Anyone ?
Please reply.. i would luv to hear from you guys...
I really luv this phone but the battery is killing me..
The problem with the one X:
leaving it unused (full connectivity 3g,wifi,sync) draws about 0.6% per hour.
But once you turn on your screen and start browsing the screen will deplete the battery really fast. (As will gaming)
Once you get used to your phone and you don't use it hours at a time anymore you can easily get 30+ hours of usage time which is way longer that any smartphone I had before this one (G1, legend, Omnia7). At this moment I have 23 hours of battery time with 36% remaining.
Yeah the screen is a massive power user.
I didn't really use my one x much the past few days and it lasted 51.5 hours! That's with wifi on, data on, cellular radio on etc. Only 1 and a half hours of screen time though.
I'm still very impressed, much better than my iPhone 4S could ever have done
Decided to plug it in now as it's down to 3%
Can't post links to the screen shots unfortunately
Tom.
Thee is a huge thread on battery life already here:

Try to read abit before starting a new thread.
I don't think I would be half as annoyed with the One X if it just charged faster. Almost 3 hours to recharge a battery is kind of ridiculous.
Hopefully someone will make a custom kernel with a fast USB charge patch.

Batt life varies from device to device ? Or charge and cycling

Last week I made thread on How phenomenal the batt life was for the hox..Now with my secondary line and 2nd hox I retract the statements
Or maybe someone can help or justify that theese sealed batteries do get better with charges
Got a mint...used white hox rooted stock rom
Last week Battery life was phenomenal 15 hours heavy usage 60% life left at 9 pm. From 6am to 9pm
Gave it to wife got me a new out of the ... BOx 2nd hox
Not rooted stock Rom.
After 5 hours medium use 7 am.to 12noon I'm at 57%
Now this is why I ask my question ..not sure what the gentleman did to the white one x I got Used. But it had way better life and he got it on may6th new from a preorder.
Could it be was a better unit or did batt life get better over time and charging .
I'm pissed the white one...is... better
But my silver doesn't have screen glitch or bleed through or any of the know... Issues
The white one did have screen glitch that's all

The battery drain with a out of box device was horrible (Just my opinion and experience)
Just let the phone settle for a week, u will find a lot of change in the battery drain.
Right now there is no difference in drain in between a rooted and non rooted device.
Charging and cycling has no effect on battery life.

15 hours heavy usage with 60% left? Heavy usage would kill any normal one x in half that time, so it depends on what you define as heavy.
If you can show me screenshots of 15 hours on battery, 10+ hours (even 5 hours!) screen on time and 60% battery left, I'll believe you.

Someone look my Battery Stats (BBS)

I'm using Viper Rom with Stock kernel but i can't change my cpu settings with No-Frills, SetCpu or Voltage Control. I choose em with settings but no luck still Max and Min values are 1500 Mhz. Except Stock kernel also with Franco and Faux i couldnt change em too.
Let's talk about the real issue. My battery drain is really awful. I lost %4 of my battery in nearly 10 minutes Only in homescreen. (Everytime in a new rom i calibrate my battery)
4% in 8 mins is a bit high, but completely undiagnosable because of the short time span. The only thing I can get from it is the screen... Are you on full brightness?

Nope brightness set lowest on Autobrightness settings.
I did HTC Battery Test from HTC Function Test and my battery level was %89 on that test...
http://www.jayceooi.com/2012/04/11/how-to-test-htc-one-x-battery-life/
I'll send new BetterBatteryStats screenshots tomorrow.
BetterBatteryStats Other section
since unplugged:
No Data Connection 1 h 17 m 39 s (4659 s) Ratio %99.4 (Whats that No data connection?)
No or Unknown Signal 1 h 17 m 39 s same ratio (and also what's that for)
Wifi On 1 h 11 m 6 s (4266 s) Ratio %91
Screen On 50 m 22 s (3022 s) Ratio %60.4
When i unplug it battery shows %87 but now %68 nearly in 1 hour.
Here are the new results.
Could be due to bad flash. Try a reflash.
I flashed too much. Before Viper i used Insertcoin Rom and battery was terrible on that Rom too
bad signal?

I use Miui File Explorer due to its FTP feature. I dont want plug my phone everytime when i send something on PC. Thats why i use FTP and its only took 1 min thats not a battery drainer.
My Phone's serial number starts with SH24 (Built in Shangai) I guess that's why its battery life sucks according to Taiwanese Hoxes.
From now Screen only active nearly 1 hour and battery is %45. I played games totaly 10 minutes last night. It drains %100 to %88 in 10 minutes
I looked my mom's Hox 2 minutes ago for 10 h nearly standby 24 minutes talking and 30 minutes screen usage time but battery drain is only %5. Her Hox is HT23(Taiwanese) mine is Orange branded SH24. When on standby my battery drain is %15 for 10 h...

Your Battery drain is as good as my mom's. Which Rom do u use and what's your Serial number? (I mean SH24 HT23 or HT24)
Plz give me some suggestion. I changed my Rom to Renovate and battery drain worst than Venom on this Rom. Also My Hox gets %89 on HTC battery test (1 hour Max Brightness stress test)
I got this problem too, i am getting slowly annoyed by this phone. First i had to send it back because of screenflickering and got it back after 3 weeks, and now i have massive battery probs with this new phone. I got a drain of about 1% per minute, overheating problems, low voice volume while calling and the worst thing is i unlocked my phone and lost the.original nandroid backup i am almost about to cry about this poor quality of this expensive phone and dont know what to do

Well firstly a thread like this, no offense, is pointless.. it often leads to debase about roms which if seen by a developer can be disturbing.
Also we probably need more information. What do you do with your phone when this drain occurs?
What do you have switched on WiFi or how bright is the screen?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
my brightness is very low 30%, yes and I m kinda always connected to WIFI and to a 3g network because i have an unlimited data plan, but for example sometimes I use 2G to reduce the battery consumption but it's pointness...
so is like this for example the battery is 100% percent(with ONLY WIFI on, data disabled.no games, only 3 mins of fb+whatsapp)....and after 3 mins the battery from 100% goes to 95%........if I'm browsing with 3g is even worse...92%...it drops some percents instantly...so do battery drain during " idle " IS OK(perfect) but the battery drain whle using the phone is very bad.. that why I asked that question..
with Android Revolution ICS the battery was good..but the rom underperfrom. in games there was some " low fps/ blocking"
