Hello Folks,
This is my problem.
I rooted by phone and installed CARBON ROM ( using TWRP). WHile backing up I backed up just system information and not my data since I thought I would connect to KIES and update later ( I have a KIES backup) . Now I do not have even google play to download APPs. I wanted to
go back to original ROM ( using KIES upgrade and initialize ) , but it did not work. It downloaded the firmware it showed an error that it is not able to connect to the phone.
Kindly help me out.
I am more than happy to get it back to original ROM and then try the flashing all over again with proper back up. Before that I will ofcourse restore my phone from KIES backup.
If I can somehow connect to KIES and get my contacts etc onto this phone , that would be awesome.
Thanks

I believe you need to install gapps. It should be provided somewhere in the "Carbon ROM" forum thread.

get stock rom from sammobile.com and flash it by Odin get Odin and .pit file from this site too
you have to subscribe to get download link
in the search field enter 9003 to search for I9003 stock rom this is a site to get stock roms for Samsung phones put it in your bookmarks !
Was running a Rotted stock Rom which is flashed with CWM. All was fine until i tried to install Google official 4.2.1 update. That messed up something and now i cant get it to boot. I wiped everything in CWM but nothing. Also been trying to connect it to PC to transfer a new ROM but i dont know why the mount sdcard option is not working.
1) you were not on a 100% stock rom, so dont ever take a OTA
2) the mount sdcard will never work on this phone as there is no sdcard
3) do yourself a favor and follow this (it even has a section on how to root your phone): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
Restore
Try this it has always worked for me and I have bricked my phone many, many times. I find this to be so much easier than all the other ways out there, but that's just me.

Your recovery version is pretty old, considering cwm 6.0.3.6 is the newest...
So is there anyway to fix this ?
Download ROM Manager from the PlayStore and let it install the latest CWM, or download GooManager and have it install TWRP.
So far as the computer, you'll need to be more specific about 'talk to'.
Might need drivers, might need a new cable, can't tell from what you said.
I think if he wiped already he wont be able to download from the play store, if im reading the OP correctly, you already wiped the device, you flashed the 4.2.2 or 4.2 and it aborted..correct?
Step 1. Okay here's what you can do since the PC isnt reading your phone, reboot or restart your pc put phone in odin/download mode and see if it reads it now. If it does Odin a stock rooted rom, then get goomanger from the play store and install open script recovery which will give you the twrp recovery, then you can attempt the flash again of the 4.2 based rom.
Step 2. If it still isnt reading after a pc restart load your old rom on an sd card and try to flash the old tw rom with that older cwm recovery and see if you can get back at least to a tw rom. If that doesnt work then pull the battery out your phone let it sit for 2min, put the battery back in and get into odin/download mode, and see if pc recognizes the device and connection, if it doesnt, download kies and it might help with the connection issue.
Did that help bro. Let me know?

Op stated the he made a full backup. Should be able to boot directly into recovery and restore the backup?
thanks for the info everyone . the operating system is gone so no luck on play store.
mrkevo3000 yes the roms got aborted half way its weird why it would do that.... my phone has always had issues.
just like that as i am typing this my phone is now recognized by odin so i will what you said load up stock and the reflash my backup and then update cwm.
I will try and update and againg to 4.2.2 and let you know what happens.
I have seen so many flavors any preference one somethiong that might work on i747m ?
ill update this after recovering my phone and attempting reflash.
Also for some reason my sd card is not recognized by cwm and it is only looking at internal again never did this to me before thats why i got stuck.
Last time i attempted a update for some reason my apn settings were locked and could not be changed.
I did the same stupid thing myself. Really can not believe I did it but i was rushing and didn't read what it was, thinking i was doing something else. Was not worried as I had my trusty nandriod backup -.- . I guess I can consider myself lucky as i took it to telus hoping they would buy my story and they sent it to the samsung repair center. Worried all week that if they checked it would be clear i had voided the warranty and i would be paying a high repair cost or buying a new phone. Well I got the phone back an hour ago and they fixed it.... no charge. I guess I can consider myself very lucky.

I would use odin 1.85 and odin a rooted stock 4.1.2 rom.. then go to the playstore and download goomanger and get the teamwin recovery, by hitting menu inside goomanger app, and installing the open script recovery which will install the teamwin recovery, you can flash any pure google rom with that recovery, before you do make a nandroid of your current setup and then flash away, get into a habit of doing at least one back and check the md5 hash of the roms before you flash away... download using your pc instead of phone browsers, sometimes mobile browsers corrupt the files.

Please help me out really need the help. let me know if you can. Thank you for even reading my request.
Ok I know I've been a bit stupid and the phrase 'curiosity killed the cat' s more than applicable here:
I was playing round with my newly rooted s4 mini and have landed an issue, all my data is gone after installing the cynagenmod. All of it. I have no contacts, apps anything it has somehow done a factory reset on me. I had backed all this up on samsung kies (not the best I know) beforehand but now samsung kies won't recognise my phone. I would prefer to just uninstall cynagenmod and go back to using the standard touchwiz for a bit so I can get all my data back, any ideas how to do this?
Thanks
flash the stock rom for your device with odin. afterwards kies should recognize your device again.
as junkyde said flash stock firmware of your region with Odin and restore

Hi there guys of XDA,
I have a major problem with my NOTE 2, after playing around with some ROMs, Cyanogenmod 11 4.4 NIGHTLY, 10.2 4.3 and Omni 4.4.1 NIGHTLY. I used CWM to load these ROMs with SUPERsu?. This is the first time i have flashed any ROMs onto my phone.
CM 11 was the first ROM i flashed on my NOTE 2 and that's when it started it couldn't detect my sim, It doesn't show me my IMEI number and my Baseband version. I didn't make a back-up of the stock because i didn't need one.
Now i'm stuck with a phone i can only use on Wifi is there anyone that can help? or if its happened to someone else? how did you sort it out?
Also can i restore this through KIES?

I had this exact issue last week when flashing Kitkat AOSP ROM. Even restoring back to 4.3.1 no network connection was available, except for WiFi. Restoring your EFS will not even work. You just have to re-root your phone.
Not to worry, your phone is OK, perfectly OK. But just quite a bit of work needs to be done. Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032849
1. Download original stock firmware for your country and telco
2. Download mode that firmware back to your phone using Odin
3. Download mode to install recovery, this will re-root your phone above steps will un-root your phone
4. Re-flash ROM of your choice, not Kitkat for now
After all i've gone through, and as much as i want to try Kitkat, i think this issue is recovery-related. Both TWRP and CWM needs updating for Android 4.4. I will wait until then.
All the best!

Thanx for getting back to me at least someone can help. After i followed the things you told me to do. It didn't put the stock ROM back on there so i'm stuck with omni.
After Odin loaded everything to the phone it just keeps going into recovery mode? is that normal or am i doing it wrong because the link you posted up doesn't mention anything about that :-s and i followed everything that link said to do.

Mate, firstly this is the hard way of recovering from "Unknown Baseband" issue. Finally the simple solution was only to download and install an app called SELinux Mode Changer from PlayStore. Then using that app, change SELinux from Enforcing to Permissive resolved everything related to IMEI, EFS, and Unknown Baseband. So hard way I did; i didn't know any better then.
By the way the link is correct. Start from the procedure from the line that says "Installation Instruction [Mobile odin is now have support for NOTE2]"
You must be in download mode (Vol Down, Home, & Power button all pressed together) to flash the Stock ROM using Odin. But where is your status now? If in recovery, can you re-install a ROM? If u r able to reboot back up to OMNI, just install the SELinux app and u will be good to go.
Cheers!

good luck.
"Just sharing my experience in solving this issue. Hopefully it will help solve those who have similar issues.
I flashed a file which messed up my EFS partition. I had a backup and tried to use the available programs to restore my EFS using my backup. None worked. I even brought it to the samsung store, but they said they would change the motherboard and reprogram, and replacement and service would cost more than half the cost of a new N7105. I purchased the phone in another country. The people who had stores to repair phones gave up on my phone. They also offered to replace the motherboard for US$175.00.
My phone was originally under a DMB2 rom (from Singapore I think). I flashed a DMC3 rom, and used this for five months, until i encountered the problem.
I initially gave up and got a note 3. But i could not believe the phone was junk and people in XDA (as I observed) do not seem to give up.
After two weeks, i found the solution below, which brought my phone to working condition.
1. I flashed the stock rom N7105ZHDMI2_N7105ZZHDMI2_TGY from sammobile.
2. I flashed a pit file using Odin. The pit file is found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2137008
This restored the baseband. But IMEI was no longer NULL. However, it was still 0.
3. I downloaded and used the EFS Pro from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1308546
Before using EFS Pro, make sure you dial *#7284# and change the setting of Qualcomm USB Settings to
"RMNET + DM + MODEM"
I will not hurt your phone if you do, but EFS Pro will just not work. If you don't do this, the EFS Pro will display "Phone not responding" or something similar.
NOTE: I couldn't find the option with RMNET, but i used the option that also had an "RM*** + DM + MODEM".
After the phone is read, change back the IMEI to what it was originally.
Dial *#7284# again to change back to "MTP+ADB".
It's all working now.
Hope this is able to help someone. Now i have two working versions of Note.
Thanks to the authors of the program i used, and the people who uploaded the files used.
Cheers!

Nice, thanks!
For all others that might face "unknown baseband" with 4.3 to 4.4 flashing of ROMS, SELinux Mode Changer app from Playstore will fix that problem. Install the app and set SELinux from Enforcing to Permissive.
i hope your problem is fixed.
i'm not too familiar with CM roms, as i have been using stock since gingerbread. but you have to first do a full wipe before flashing from CM to stock. did you do that? perhaps you can go to recovery, do a full wipe, include Dalvik and Cache. Then go to bootloader and flash your rom.
by the way, my chipset is qualcomm yours may be exynos. if so, then i'm not confident about this solution because i have tried this several times, but only on note 2 LTE.
good luck!
