does anybody know which 4.4 rom currently has MHL support?
I just bought a MHL from newegg and to be honest I dont know if the MHL that is not working or the ROM that does not support it.
Im currently on Carbon 4.4 ROM (1/1/14 build) and it doesnt work for me. Can someone please recommend me a 4.4 ROM that supports MHL?
I've heard the beanstock 4.4 ROM supports MHL, although you may run into heat issues with the slimkat kernel that's included (I think it's overclocked). It's based off of cyanogenmod 10.2 which, although is 4.3, will support MHL if you decide to go that route. Besides that, I haven't seen support in any other 4.4 ROMs unfortunately, but I haven't personally tried any either.

Been looking and most of the roms using 4.2 most say nothing about tethering, WIFI specifically.
Although one said, being AOKP based it has all the AOKP bugs. Which Tethering was one of the bugs the DEV listed. So since the only 4.2 based roms right now are AOSP, AOKP or Cyanogen based so unless the most current Cyanogen nightly does not have WiFi Tethering yet then I suppose if its not built off an OTA RLS then no 4.2 roms have it.
So basically does the latest Cyanogen Nightly Support Wifi Tether?
Is their a Mod for some reason (i doubt) that will make it work with 4.2 I dont think thier is because i would think the DEVs would have it in their roms
Read more, flash a 4.2 supported kernel, almost all of them have a wifi tether fix (encrypted as well). and you posted a question on general lol.
Moved to Q&A
now that the thread has moved i decided to bump it to find out if anyone knows if there any 4.2 based rom out yet eith tethering or a plugin that would work???
Thank i appreciate all your time!
WiFi tethering has been fixed in CM, and has been working for weeks with custom kernels.
I gave the answer a week ago...And yes all roms based off 4.2.2 should have the new kernel with encrypted/open tether working.
do any of those roms/kernels support a vpn like 1-click or hotspot shield? anytime i try to run tethering with either of those two, it doesn't work.
i can still access the internet on my phone, but not on my connected device. only rom i know that supports is the paranoid android 2.54
only reason i need this is to get my ps3 connected, because i don't know of any other way to do it
Does hdmi out work on the Galaxy Nexus with cyanogenmod installed? Thanks!
There's another thread where freakb18c1 wrote that it used to work with CM10 (which is based of Android 4.1.*) and doesn't with CM 10.1.* (which is based off 4.2.*). I had the same experience with the latter. I'll soon test it with CM 10.2 ... maybe it got fixed.

well CM and Carbon sure are and once they finished there "stable-ish" 5.0 nightly that's probably when our/the D2LTE Dev's will take a crack at it but they could go above and beyond and make it before them but i would say only if they choose to...and if your wondering about stock TW based roms that will only happen if Samsung updates us to 5.0 TW....
the i9300 and i9350 are getting AOSP Lollipop love via ports http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/rom-namelessrom-t2939673 <---one example but we just have to be patient and see if our Devs make a port or source built AOSP custom rom for us....
I have a question, are any of the lolipop roms working fairly well on the 5110? And if so which ones?
Also if not what kitkat roms does anyone recommend?

Try Cm and Pac.
Both are stable and working well beyond the, "fairly well" level that you are looking for.
I just flash my 5110 w/ PACman Rom. It's ok. A little hiccups here and there.
CM 12.1 has been flawless for me.
Does S-Pen work with w/ PACman Rom?
I know most ROMs are lollipop, and devs are probably focused now on Android M, however I would really like to try some good kitkat ROMs. Reason? need to test performance ?.
so, any good kitkat ROMs that you can recommend, I'd appreciate it... CM preferably but I can also do TW.
cheers!
Me too....I'm running stock 5.0.2 but it doesn't work with usb dacs. I hear the original kitkat 4.4.2 worked great with dacs.
So yeah, any good recommendations for TW kitkat roms. ...or for that matter, any good roms out there at all that support usb dacs?
