What's a kingo? Lol
I'm thinking that's your first problem....I bet it's not for this phone, but a different s2.

Well....Good luck...doesn't seem to work, does it.
I've never heard it mentioned here....for the t989 anyway....so I wouldn't touch it. Rooting the ways that are posted here are extremely simple....it'd stick to the ways posted here.
You are on a t989...right?
Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk

yes tmobile s2

You need to use Odin to return to stock...then start over. This time try the root methods in threads here...And all will go smooth.
If Odin doesn't see your phone, try 3.0.4..that's one I've had the best luck with.

If Odin still won't see your phone, uninstall kingo and reinstall the Samsung drivers....then try Odin.

Stuck after an Odin flash of stock? Did you wipe cache and davlik after?
Weird.

i did wipe cashe and i didnt see davlik

Stuck on the Samsung name can still mean you have no os on there.

how to
it seems i also have the same issue .... my Samsung s2 is stuck in the same loop as yours was seems to be that looks like it is installing stuff on the main screen. My phone can no longer be recognized by PC with usb cable. I even tried a Jigg that i have used before . How did u get to the spiraling Samsung logo. Or even better how did you finally correct the problem. Odin does not even see the phone or even that Kingo software cannot see it . Plaease let me know
Thank you

[Q] Cursor added to touchscreen after chainfire auto-root

I've had my Note II for a couple months, but I just rooted it yesterday using the chainfire auto-root (method 2 from this page). After the root, wherever I touch the screen, I get a quarter-inch diameter white spot that follows my finger across the screen. It's not a huge deal, but I find it annoying. Has anyone else seen this? Is there some way to turn it off?
Should be in settings and developer options somewhere

Uncheck "show touches"
Thanks! I was looking for a setting like that under "display". I should've thought of the developer options.

Did u have samsung keis and drivers installed? Cuz I wanna root that way.
Sent From Land Of Ooo.
I didn't have Keis, but I did install the USB drivers. I'm still not sure that it was really necessary. Without a driver loaded, Odin just wouldn't connect to your phone, so you could try without it. One tip on something that stumped me for a while: I had to pull the battery and put it back before I could get my phone to boot in download mode.
Kies has issues with usb debugging... not quite sure the specifics but I know the compatible issues are true and i think it has to do with the gn2s root folders communicating "properly" with the cpu through USB (or atleast with all present options available for rooting, may be fix someday)

The 2nd option on that tgread is exactly what I used... yes it is the only file you will be odin flashing but again make sure you download the usb drivers as well... another tip I can say is that, at least for when with my attempt is, after your connected in download mode (com port is light blue) and pda is checked with the cf auto root file loaded, I hit start, but after my phone was flashed and restarting, Odin still said the device was in reset for maybe 2 minutes before it says Pass... just wait to unplug your device until it says Pass and dont unplug if it says Reset

[Q] Bricked, computer won't recognize phone in Download mode, won't boot, no recovery

Hello all,
I have flashed ROMs via recovery and Odin plenty of times. I would say I generally know what I am doing and I flash ROMs on the regular. This is my second Samsung device and have been rooting/flashing for almost two years, so not a noob.
I was stuck in a bootloop on my Note and it wouldn't even let me boot into recovery, so I decided to Odin and back to stock and try again... I got the one-click, phone recognized, yellow COM box popped up, hit start, walked away for 10-15 minutes. Come back and there has barely been any progress at all... I could barely see the green progress bar. I figured something is wrong because I've done this before and it only takes a minute at most. What I did next is what I think messed me up...I pulled my phone and closed the Odin dialogue box and tried to redo it. Problem is, nothing I could do would get me the Yellow COM box. The phone goes into download mode but Odin doesn't seem to want to recognize it. I've tried EVERYTHING. When I boot the phone normally, I get the Samsung error screen saying there was an issue with a firmware upgrade and I should try Kies. I download Kies and attempt to upgrade firmware that way, but I get to the last step where it says "Upgrade Firmware" or something like that on the button but the button remains greyed out and I can't click it... I have tried everything. I downloaded the toolkit and installed drivers but each time I do that, the driver install freezes my PC at the end of the install. Same thing happens if I try to get the drivers from the Samsung site directly, the computer freezes. I have rebooted a million times and tried every USB port there is. I have had the computer try to "set up" the deivce while it's in download mode a few times but usually hangs at the end (probably bc drivers not properly installing). Once or twice it setup fine, but still Odin won't recognize. I think the driver thing is moot because it was recognizing the device before this mess just fine and it recognizes and accesses my wife's S2 just fine.
I am at my wit's end. Did I destroy my phone???? Is there nothing I can do to salvage it?
I just aged about five years in the last 2 hours. Please someone help!!!
Longshot, but try installing the toolkit on a different system and try again. I've had drivers from different systems mixed up and it worked fine when installed on a fresh system. Probably not your problem, but worth a try before trying to warranty your phone. Good Luck.
Also try a different usb cable.

Different cable didn't work.
I'll try a different system but I'm not holding out hope.
Will warranty work if in Odin mode the phone says that I have a custom ROM and custom recovery installed???
Am I out of luck here? I always thought that if it boots up, it's not completely bricked. Shouldn't a PC see it if I get the drivers installed???
If no computer sees it and the Download/Odin screen shows Root and custom ROM/Recovery so no warranty replacement, what are my options?

You say it finds your wife's phone just fine and she has the same model? Have you tried installing the drivers manually through the driver update in device manager?
As to other options, if you're paying for the additional insurance Sprint offers, and are willing to pay the $200 deductable (as opposed to the $500 replacement cost) you could always turn it on and drop it in a bucket of water. They won't be able to pull root/rom info from the unit at that point. Otherwise I think it's a matter of luck as to what kind of techs work in the store you go to. I've heard stories about those who were sticklers and those who didn't care (the latter tend to those who root their own phones). All you can do is ask, hypothetically of course.
Wish I could be more help. Good luck.

If you can get the drivers to extract (I know it crashes when you try to install) you could still try the manual update method for your phone's drivers. (can't count how many times I've had to do that for peripherals and my win7 laptop that isn't certified for win7)
Did you try completely uninstalling the drivers before you tried to reinstall them?

Thanks but this is exactly what I tried first and continue to try... The problem is I unplugged the phone while the one-click was doing its thing because it wasn't progressing. The phone still goes into to Download mode but the one-click no longer 'sees' the phone when I plug it in, so I can't try again...

I would download the tool kit and reinstall the drivers from their. I had the exact same problem months ago. took hours of trying to flash different stuff to get it to work. make sure that you try to unplug then replug in the cord and I think you must use a cord that is made for your phone. Mine wont work unless I use the one supplied with it which is weird but I read somewhere that the prongs are longer or something.open the oneclick oden then plug the phone in and let it sit for a min or 2

I'm going to try tonight on a different computer.
So you think I should do the following:
1. install drivers
2. open odin one-click
3. put phone in download mode
4. plug phone in
5. even though yellow COM thing should pop up right away let it sit for a while
6. flash one-click back to stock
I'll give it a shot after work.

I have actually had this happen before. I couldnt get anything to work even the one click. So what I did was use the toolkit to flash a custom recovery with the stock kernel. Then when it rebooted I held the volume up home, and power buttons. Go into recovery and nandriod back to my previous rom and it worked. But my pc did recognize my device.

Mine's doing it too man. Installed the app. Phone is rooted but stock recovery. Let it do its unlock thing and said yes to disable LGE security. Then tried to reboot using the volume and home keys to get to recovery and it gave a "Secure booting failed. Cause: Device Unlocked so boot success!!" message. Then LG logo again then AT&T animation and that's as far as it gets. No recovery menu, no normal boot. Just AT&T.
You get yours figured out yet? We gonna have to LGNPST back to stock?

Are you sure you were putting it into download mode? You take out the battery. Then put battery back in the phone. THen I believe you hold the volume down key and plug the phone into the computer. Then LGNPST should recognize the phone after you change the COM port to I believe 41 or 42
Edit: You hold BOTH volume keys while plugging the phone into the computer. It needs to be completely off when you do this.
Edit 2: Here's the guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660
Switch it under device manager to COM port 41. Now flash tools should recognize it.
I'm honestly bummed that I'm now going to have to re-setup everything again. I just had to flash my phone 2 weeks ago to get rid of 2nd Init recovery to install the value pack. Now I get to do it again, then run the update, then re-root, and put my 200+ apps back on, lol. FML. I guess this just isn't the phone the tinker with. Never had any of these issues on my S1, S2, S3, HTC One, One X, Note, etc. Oh well.

Did you happen to make a backup in recovery? Which recovery are you using?
jrc2

No fastbook/recovery (NOT ROOTED)

I have been up and down all the sites and recovery methods.
ISSUE:
In an attempt to root my Zenfone 2 (2.19.40.22 Lollipop) the tool I was using seemed to get stuck looking for my device. This was after installing a fastboot, or an attempt I believe. After a minute or so I noticed the phone screen was constantly showing the USB Logo.
I can turn on my phone and use it no problem. HOWEVER, I cannot POWER + VOL UP, to enter the bootloader. It just goes back to that USB Logo with the White Bar under it. And I have to power off and ON my phone again to get back to normal operation.
As you can imagine this makes it rather difficult to flash anything or use the ADB Tools whatsoever. Is there anything I can do to get that back, or am I doomed with a phone that can never be rooted?
[The tool that started this whole issue was the TWRPRecovery-Install]
Twrp tool only installs twrp recovery which you need an unlocked boot loader to install, so it should have never been used, can you use adb from the phone in normal operation? Can you get into recovery at all? Sometimes you can boot to recovery from adb shell when phone is in normal boot. Most of the solutions I can think of requires root but if you figure out how to get to recovery you can sideload a full update file to restore everything

And I am not sure if it will work now, but there is a one click root tool for this phone you could try it, but if you have an unusable bootloader it may not work, let me do some research for other options, may not find anything but we'll see

Thanks for the info. I clearly followed the wrong guide. I did try the One Click Tool but again it goes straight to the USB logo. Its odd, if it was broken or deleted your imagine there would be a way to fix or reinstall it.
