Have you tried clearing the log data? It sometimes takes up lot of space on your phone.

Are you using ClockworkMod Recovery?
If so it's your ROM backups.
I am using clockwork mod recovery.

It is your rom backups. Go into rom manager and you will see your backups there. They are hidden when you check in the storage menu
Sent from your phone. You should be more careful where you leave that thing.
I'm sorry it can't be the log data. Have you tried installing another ROM? Maybe another cm version. Or you can try what skipjacks said. OR if you backed up anything using your clockworkmod recovery, you can go back to recovery and choose backup, then delete any unnecessary backups you may have. But mostly I'm thinking its a ROM issue because this has happened to me when I flashed certain Roms. Keep us updated

I think there is something wrong with mine. It's been running a backup for about 10 minutes and still isn't done the dots are pass the htc logo now. I'm using the latest RA it's never took this long and it's not much on my phone to backup. It's been doing this all day been having to do a battery pull. It will restore and flash the right way but my backups arent finishing I'm going to let it fun for about 12 more minutes and if it's not done there is something really wrong. Anyone having this problem?
Here is what I looks like can someone help

I had this issue on 1.8 a few weeks ago, make sure your not plugged in. What I ended up doing was scan disk my card in my pc (found errors) then re partition my sdcard in the phone, then re flash my rom. I also updated to 2.2.1. After all this my problem went away. Not sure if you have to do it all.

How do I change versions without use of a computer?

Yes and yes. Smirkis has significantly updated his script since the last time I used it. It used to be a set of scripts to be run individually to install whatever image or binary you needed. Now, you flash the smirkit.zip installer in recovery along with any files it comes with. This makes it much easier to launch and less likely to encounter any errors, but the overall result of running the script is still the same. The image or binary gets flashed to its respective partition, to stay.
Since the smirkit.zip is flashed to the system partition in recovery, flashing a new ROM, simply overwrites the system partition along with the Smirkit installer.
So yes, you can use Smirkit and not worry about losing TRWP after rebooting or flashing a new ROM.
Smirk it saved the day. Thank you so much for your help

Hi guys..
I bought this fantastic phone one week ago, and I'm very satisfied with it (I'm coming from an lg optimus 2x, you could understand my happiness )...
But I've encountered a big problem...
When I start to flash ROM, after some flashing the phone begins to become very slow, specially when I open apps...and this WITH CLEAN ROMS (and obviously with /data wiped)...
So I've understood that the problem is in I/O operations... It seems that partitions are being damaged...in fact only a flash with Odin solves this problem...
Maybe I do something wrong in flashing ROMs?
My custom recovery is TWRP (or I guess this is the name)..as I said before, every time I flash a ROM , I do a nandroid backup, I wipe data, and then I flash.
Pls help me! Now I have to reflash stock jb with Odin again
Up
Is no one able to help me?
Is this GSM or CDMA? Which ROMs/kernels have you tried?

Mhmm
How are you clearing the data? If you are using the ROM built-in data wipe options I suggest you boot into recovery and wipe all cache system and all others. I have never experienced lag when loading roms.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I'm on maguro...this happens with every kernel and every ROM...
BUT GUYS I THINK I FOUND THE PROBLEM...
It seems my galaxy nexus suffers of the same issue of nexus 7....when internal storage free space is 3gb or less, my phone begins to slowdown horribly....
Now I will do some tests and if the problem will be confirmed I have to open a more important thread on general.
I guess no solution at time thank you for your answers guys!
Maybe your recovery is bad. Try a new download and reflash..

Hello, I have spent all day looking for this answer without any luck so I am hoping someone can answer my question here.
I wanted to upgrade my SII to the latest Cyanogenmod I did the following:
1). Downloaded and used Odin to install StockCWM-EL26.tar (CWM v5.0.2.7)
2). Using my SD card upgraded to CWM v5.8.1.5 (newest version I could find)
3). Factory reset and wiped everything.
4). Using my SD card installed the latest version of Cyanogenmod cm-10.2-20140330-NIGHTLY-d710 (Jelly Bean v4.3.1)
Everything booted fine and worked fine however I quickly ran out of app space. I noticed that my App partition space is 2GB where my S3 phone running the same OS (factory version) has the entire phone's space available for apps (16GB). I figured to fix this issue I just needed to re-partition the phone using a PIT file but I can't find this anywhere. Am I missing something or am I just stuck with a 2GB App partition and no chance of anything larger?
Thank you very much...
Taran.
There is no "option" to change partitions for this phone. Or any device anywhere haha. Its more of a procedure. Anyways a lesson in terminology doesn't help. But yes you are "stuck" with 2 gigs. But I've installed literally hundreds of apps before having this problem. You should look at app2sd or something. No need to partition anything. Good luck ^ ^

oh...
Thanks for the quick response Linux guy. I am sad to hear I can't re-partition the phone but at least I can quite looking around for a way to do it...
I've moved all my apps using the built in "Move to SD" function in the system app menu but still almost out of space. I'll check out App2SD.
Thanks again,
Taran
Here's something else to do. Go to settings>apps and click the menu button to sort your apps by size. I bet you have an app that's being a hog *pictures*

Check the apps that use any type of avi/avatar image...Twitter, Facebook tend to Cache images and sap storage as well, each app selected will show you the cached size

Thanks again for the replies. After a bit of looking around I ended up using Link2SD by Bulent Akpinar. So far that has solved all the issues I was having with space (seems to work a lot better then the built in "Phone to SD" did).
Take care...
So I was attempting the tbackup fix posted here and here and lost my internal sd card as described here
Any help appreciated - text of the last post linked above as follows:
OK - so after re-booting my internal SD card seems to be "lost". A bunch of apps FC including titanium. I can access my external SD card using ES @ /storage/extsdcard but the /sdcard/ & storage/emulated are all blanks. Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm running ezkat 2.0 ROM for Note ii
Am I looking at a wipe/re-flash - might a dirty flash fix?
When I reboot recovery I can see it @ /storage/sdcard1/ and everything appears to be there still
When I usb to PC it loads as as follows:

}
but both show empty when I try to open them.
Note - I also posted this question in the eZKAT Q&A thread...hopefully this is ok?
Thanks in advance,
~snowin
Yes ...try a dirty flash first.
If that does not correct the file path then a clean flash may be needed...
TIBU is a good resource...but it also has risk...in that it may restore file information and data that breaks current installations...
That includes the restoration of tibu paths using the fix...
Try a cache wipe then dirty flash....g

Thanks for the reply @gregsarg . I did try a dirty flash earlier with no success - gonna try right away with wiping cahce after I finish re-packing eZ's zip file with my modem (save some time later). If that doesn't work I think I'll try formatting /system then flashing?
What is TIBU?
Thanks,

Tibu is titanium backup
