This won't be easy and will certainly not work out of the box.
In the standard case the .apk file needs to be installed on the system itself.
But: there is an app to use a secondary partition which is called Link2SD, you need to have a rooted device though.
I found a guide for the process on the Ouya Android-device, which might point you into the right direction: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2345680
Good luck and please keep us updated with your progress on the matter
Hi! That's my first message here
Just got an Xperia M as gift, and being it my 1st android phone i'm still trying to figure things out.
First things first: phone is successfully rooted, and im navigating into it with root explorer
My problem:
i have little free space left (80megs) , and got a pair of big games which managed to download themselves on the phone, but refused to install (dead trigger 2, 250megs)
This mean that when i go on the google play store page of that app i get directly the "install" button, so the game .apk must be somewhere on the phone storage.
Where is it located?
Where does google play store store the downloaded .apk files before installation?
I tried to look at the locations cited in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1699698
but couldnt find anything, so i guess Sony must have moved that cache folder somewhere else on the phone.
Does anyone know the exact location?
Thanks in advance for the answer

Clear the cache of the play store and clear it's app data. Then reboot your phone. Try again after that
i'v already try it :/
I love playing games on my s4 mini, i've used lollipop till' now but i like the Touchwiz UI and i wanna go back on offical kitkat again. But i noticed that when i move a game to sd card ( ex : Dead Trigger 2 ) It only moves 50 MB to SD and remaining 400 MB are still on the phone. Can anyone help me with this issue ?
The app you need is FolderMount. Search about it and you will get what you need
You can also try GL to SD as Folder Mount doesnt work for me again.

U need to install this app from play store. ::: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount&hl=en
When u start the app for the 1st time and grant root access it prompts to fix a storage related issue. Choose yes. Then u can move parts of apps onto sd card.
But if u want to move large games... then u need to install xposed framework and ObbOnSD module. Here is a video on XDA-TV that will help you...

Thanks a lot sir.. It worked. Now i can install more games on my phone
Guys, i rooted my device through temp recovery flashing superSu. I have the updated firmware 7.6.0, after i rooted, i installed app2sd from playstore, and move all apps to external SD card.. It was working well but it happens that i turn it off to charge for a while,. When i came back and turn it on again, all my apps are force closing, like such as google services, FOTA services , it says "unfortunately *apps name* has stopped" keep popping out.. so i flash again a raw firmware through sd download mehtod and succesfully brings back my device like before i rooted it,. I wonder why this happen to my device, should the culprit was the app2sd, but i only move games not the pre-installed apps,.. Any comments and feedback is much appreciated,. Thanks,..
Help me please T_T i really need help regarding this issues.. T_T
up please.. T_T :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: i badly needed some help. .T_T:crying::crying::crying:
Please help me, anyone?
You have to reset tablet to factory settings an don't use Link2SD to automatically link all ditectories to SD but you have to do it manually and also do not link some of system data directories to SD because it may trigger force close that apps.
