I just flashed Omnirom 4.4.2 kitkat. The rom flashed fine, but I lost root. I tried reflashing root from recovery, and it said it worked, but when I reboot and open SuperSU it gives a message that it cannot install the SU binary, and if I just upgraded to 4.3 I should check XDA forums for my device. is there another SU file I can flash that will work? or can I not get root back with this ROM?
Just as always,
There is a program for windows called kingoroot.
Use it and you got your root back.
Also, don't forget to update your SuperSu app to the latest version!
(In future, please search in existing topics or just google it. There are a lott of topics about the same problem!)

"/system/bin/sh: su: not found"
i've installed superSU and busybox before, and update my supersu to the latest version (via google play auto update)
can anyone please tell me how to fix this?
thanks.
PS: i've root my XM single couple times before i flash to 15.1.C.2.8, and it always worked flawlessly. this is my first time facing this problem.

Have you followed the rooting procedure fully? In the forum it tells you how to properly root your phone. With the su binary not being found it seems like when you used framaroot it didn't install the binary (due to the half root it does). You need to keep using framaroot until SuperSU is installed and once it is you then need to use BusyBox pro to install the latest version of BusyBox (this may make the phone reboot, you have to keep going until it does get installed). Then you need to use the root fixer. But go and follow the proper root procedure, it explains it better. You should find it in the general forum.

Hi gamer649, thank's for your reply.
i just reinstall my superSU using framaroot, and the rootfixer finish its job flawlessly.
May I ask, is it possible to upgrade to this firmware then root? Or is it only possible with rootfixer?
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S4 and I tried rooting it using the CF-Auto-Root, but when I open SuperSU, it says "there is SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it." I decided I want to root it all the way but I can't figure this out. How do I root this phone?? Do I have to use the CyanogenMod?? Please help!!

Ok, So my question would be did you use Odin to install CF-Auto-Root? Most I've seen use it and have no problem. Odin installs it then the phone reboots and that's when a special recovery is installed and then loaded and the root process is done. After that stock recovery is again installed. Not positive but I heard there may be other methods named similiar to this that will root phones that have 4.3 and lower.
Make sure you have the version mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294005
Also. if you think for some reason that your phone maybe rooted but SuperSU isn't working right you could always go to the Play store and download Chainfire's SuperSU and then install it. If your phone was truly rooted this should fix SuperSU

I have the SGH-M919 model and yes I used ODIN, but whenever I open SuperSU, it comes up that it has no binary. I already checked and I have the chainfire version.

I'm not exactly new to the rooting scene nut lets just say i'm not that expert at it.
THe problem im now getting is on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2(Sgh-1317m) i had it rooted when i was on DN3 but then i wished to update
to 4.4.2, my root was gone. When I tried to re-root it via CF-Auto Root it flashes successfully no probs. But when i open SuperSU it says no SU binary installed and im not able to access root. Is there any way to get root successfully on 4.4.2 or do i have to get back to DN3.
Get back to me ASAP. :good:
Regards,
xtrmewhacker
Special Thanks To Chainfire who made rooting so damn easy!
Try reloading SuperSU from play store

This is my first post to XDA. I'm brand new to rooting though reasonably competent technically. Wanted to root for access to root-only apps, but wanted to wait for 4.4 in case I ended up unable to receive future updates. 4.4.2 OTA came in yesterday so I tried flashing. Used Odin to install TWRP recovery then used TWRP to load TeamEpic Root From Recovery. When done, root apps said I was not rooted. Loaded SuperSU and it said SU binary was missing and I should reroot. Found CF-Autoroot and loaded it through ODIN. Red-logo thing appeared and system recovered but apps still said no root. Loaded "Root Checker Basic" from play store and it confirmed still no root. Tried to run SuperSU but found it to be missing. Reloaded SuperSU from Play Store. As SuperSU was finishing installing, popup message said something about Root Checker wanting access. I said "grant" and then found that Boot Checker verified root access. So I'm on my way.:victory:
Suggestion to xtrmewhacker: remove SuperSU and reinstall from Play Store.
SuperSU couldn't install the latest binary? I did the same as you, install 4.4 stock, flash cf-auto root, installed supersu from play store.
Supersu then installed via normal (not twrp), disabled knox, and rebooted. Everything was fine after.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I got the same thing with cf-autoroot. I went in to philz touch and applied root there. Reboot and you should be able to dl from the market or do like I did and flash the zip version.
Sent from my Note 3...making all others drool!
I installed a stock recovery to update to 4.4.4 OTA. I then installed TWRP(openrecovery-twrp-2.8.1.0-m8) through fastboot and attempted to install the super SU zip 2.00.
The file seemed to install properly as it gave me no errors, but I did not have root access when booting into the phone. I then tried CWM recovery (recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.8-m8). CWM installed the super SU 2.00 zip without any errors as well, but warned me before reboot that my root access was not found, I selected the option that "fixes" that, but still I am without root.
I like the 4.4.4 features but I don't want to be without root, please help me guys.
Let me know if you guys figure anything out for the stock rom. I just jumped on the latest cyanogenmod nighty till I figure this out.
Do you have s-off?
You should definitely get s-off as it makes everything so much easier.
But in the meantime, I would download the sunshine.apk and run it. It will reboot your phone and ask you to confirm and enter PayPal info. I believe your phone at this point has a soft root. If you now run superSU and allow it to install the binary, you should have root.
i getting this on Supersu
there is no SU binary installed and Supersu cannot install it. this is a problem!
if you just upgraded to android 5.0 you need to manually re root consult the relevant forum for your device!

I had absolutely no problems with root and ARHD 50.2. Flash it again, and DON'T flash SuperSU when twrp ask for it.
If it's still give problems, just flash latest SuperSU for MM and it should work without problems.
