INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Download CF-Auto-Root Android 4.4.2 Package with SuperSU fix (check the link above) for Samsung Galaxy S4 to computer and extract the zip file.
Step 2 - Download ODIN v3.07 which is needed to root Android 4.4.2 on Galaxy S4 I9505.
Step 3 - Switch OFF the phone and boot it into Download Mode. To do so, press and hold Volume Down and Home buttons together, and then tap Power button until the construction Android robot with a triangle icon appears on screen. Hit the Power button again to confirm entry into Download Mode.
Step 4 - Launch ODIN on computer and connect your phone to it while the phone is still in Download Mode.
Step 5 - When the phone connects successfully, one of the ID: COM boxes will turn yellow with the COM port number. This process may take some time. So, leave it alone.
Step 6 - Now select the file that needs to be flashed or installed on your phone, which can be found among the extracted files in Step 1.
Click on 'PDA' and select the file 'CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip'.
Step 7 - In ODIN, enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options. But, leave all other options at their default settings.
Step 8 - Click Start button in ODIN and let the installation process begin. It should take just a few minutes to complete.
Step 9 – Once the root installation is done, your phone will reboot into Recovery Mode automatically and install the root package files. At this moment, the ID: COM box will also turn green.
Step 10 – Finally, when the home screen boots up, just disconnect your phone from computer.
NOTE: In case the device fails to boot into Recovery Mode automatically (as given in Step 10) or cannot root your device, repeat the entire procedure again.
OPTIONAL: If the issue still persists, repeat the entire tutorial. But, ensure that the Auto Reboot option is unchecked. Then after installation (Step 10), do the following:
Step 11 - Remove battery to Power off the phone forcefully.
Step 12 - Now boot the phone into Recovery mode manually by tapping Volume Up, Home and Power buttons. This will initialize the root process on your phone.
Your Galaxy S4 is now rooted on I9505XXUFNA1 Android 4.4.2 leaked test firmware. Check for SuperSU app in your apps list to verify if root is installed correctly.

... Not sure, I should have an answer for you within the next hour or two due to my bootloader already being voided with the 4.3 one.

I made it CWM version ,with removed Knox and Bloatware , works perfect.
For now only problem is that I cannot activate init.d support on stock kernel.

Men we need a modified 4.4 Kernel !!
I spend lots of time to get this rom working as flashable zip
but it's impossible to delete all of knox !!
knox ist in framework and in smali codes
but in a few days i think any devs have a flashable zip
This great for tw lover, one big step ahead for our i9505.
Downloading it now....>:good:
Also, besides a zip, can anyone post screenshots?
Hey people, is it possible to make a cwm flashable ZIP of this without changing anything?
I would like to try to dual boot it as second rom with my 4.4.2 GE rom
Can somebody send me or give a link to download the cwm flashable zip so i don't have to try to make it myself?

I keep getting an issue when i got to flash the Hell Fire jellybean rom for my tmobile galaxy s III. the installation begins but then i receive an error message saying

i have searched the forums for people having the same issue but nothing for the galaxy s III. I do believe this is based on cm10 if that could be causing an issue but im not sure, im new to flashing on samsung devices. any help would be awesome thank you

No I have not, I have flashed other roms with no problem this is the first time ive had an issue
When I got this error, I flashed back to stock then rooted and installed the rom i wanted.
If you're not using a stock rom, the build prop may be from another phone, depending on what rom you're using.

right now im using the frostyjb rom, do you suggest i flash a stock rom then try flashing the hellfire rom like forgot2wipe had mentioned?
That's probably the quickest way to a solution at this point. Or first you could try a different recovery. I'm pretty sure the build.prop in frosty will be fine, so it could be the recovery causing a problem.
Up to you which you try first.

This guide will get your phone back up and running properly.
Doing anything else will just prolong your problems.
This is a easy and sure way to fix your problem - Here is s step by step guide:
After following these instructions you will have the latest official stock-rooted Tmobile T999 Samsung S3 Jellybean v4.1.2 rom
installed then if you like you can flash any of these custom roms found here in this T999 Tmobile threads.
Download the newest pre-rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 T999 Jellybean v4.1.2 rom: T999_UVDMD5
After downloading make a folder on your computer's desktop and unzip the
file using Winzip or 7zip so the .TAR file is in the new folder you just made.
Download and extract Odin into the same folder you made containing the TAR file
Here is the link for Odin: http://d-h.st/Q14
• Download ODIN which is required for flashing the stock rooted firmware (a windows app)
• Download the Odin Flash firmware for T999 Tmobile then copy it to the same folder as Odin
• Run Odin by double clicking the Odin.exe within the same folder as the TAR file you extracted
• Turn off your phone and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE (Volume Down + Home + Power Hold
until phone powers up, then release and press Volume Up to enter Download Mode)
• Once in Download Mode, connect the USB/Charger cable to the phone and plug into the USB port on your computer.
• You should now see a COM** port listed toward the top-left of Odin (under ID:COM)
• Click on the PDA button in the middle-right area of Odin.
• Browse to and select the Firmware you downloaded (TAR file)
• Make sure Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options checked and that PDA is the only other thing checked.
• TRIPLE CHECK your settings and that you have selected the correct firmware for your model phone and are using the correct options.
• If you are using a laptop, make absolutely sure you are plugged in, or if on battery, that it is charged enough and will not go into sleep mode during flash.
• Click Start to begin the flash. This will take a while, so be patient!
• Once complete, in the top-left box in Odin, it will say PASS and the phone should have automatically rebooted.
• You may unplug the phone and close Odin if you wish.
• Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the system to boot the first time and then build its cache!
• (It may seem to hang during boot, this is normal and you must be patient!!!)
Good Luck!

Yes, any rom which is intended to be used with the T999 phones only.
I would suggest that you stay away from any of the CM10/AOKP/AOSP and any of the PORTED roms.
Most of those roms are intended for developers and other people who want and like to experiment with their phones.
If you like experimenting with your phone, then by all means go ahead and flash those roms.
So I would suggest to only flash roms which are based on the Tmobile Samsung Touchwiz T999 Jellybean 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 firmware(roms).
That way you will not have any of those famous error 7's and or a lot of the other errors and issues which so many people here in xda have had.
Good luck!
First, a HUGE thanks goes @garwynn for being my partner through all of this and then to @sfhub (for teaching me how to create Odin One-Click.exe files and creating the original thread I'm using as a template for this one), @agat63 (for helping me get the hang of what sfhub started teaching me), @MoHoGalore for helping test and put together so many of these one-clicks and to everyone else in our community who makes this possible!
This Odin One-Click.exe contains the Stock MK4 Bootloader, Kernel, Modem and ROM for the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (SPH-L900). Yes, that means this comes with the full Knox Bootloader.
There has been no change to the ROM from the initial build released by Samsung.
This will NOT trigger the Yellow Triangle NOR will it increment the Odin flash count.
This one-click resets your whole phone to the stock MK4 experience, similar to a factory restore and it may wipe all data. It also contains the full bootloader and Knox.
Instructions:
1: Backup anything important and Disable any PINs.
During this process your phone's software will be returned to the Stock setup. All system data will be lost. To be safe, it is best to archive your backup off your phone, ie on your PC or Dropbox.
2: Install Samsung USB/Android drivers (if necessary).
Samsung Drivers Download Link
3: Download the MK4 Stock ROM One-Click.
SPH-L900_MK4_Full Restore_UNROOTED (Compressed Archive).exe (Resets user data)
4: Unzip One-Click ROM using 7zip (this package is a self-extracting exe you should just be able to double-click on it after download and it will do the rest).
5: Start the Odin One-Click.
Navigate to the location where the SPH-L900_MK4_Full Restore_UNROOTED.exe was saved upon extract from the 7Zip archive.
Double-click on SPH-L900_MK4_Full Restore_UNROOTED.exe. *On Vista or newer, you may need to right-click on the file and Run as Administrator.
6: Place phone in Download Mode.
- Power phone completely off.
- Press and hold Volume Down, Home and Power buttons, all at the same time.
- Release the buttons only when the ‘Warning!!’ message appears.
- Press [Volume Up] to enter Download mode.
7: Connect USB cable to PC and phone.
Odin should show a yellow COM port in the second column. If you do not see a yellow COM port, you may need to run the Odin One-Click as Administrator and/or unplug/plugin the USB cable after starting Odin One-Click.
8: Start Odin flash process.
Press [Start].
9: Complete - PASS!
Status should change to green PASS! At this point your phone should automatically reboot.
Android Instructions:
Download and install ZArchiver on your phone. Use it to unpack the Odin One-Click 7zip self-extracting exe file (long press on the 7zip exe. Select "Open As Archive". Select the One-Click.exe and then select Extract). Use Mobile Odin to Open File the SPH-L900_MK4_Full Restore_UNROOTED.exe. FYI - Modem will not flash with Mobile Odin.
The boot process will take slightly longer than usual during which time you'll see the Sprint 4G logo screen.
Congratulations! You've flashed the Factory Restore MK4 build!

Thanks for catching that! I've fixed it now.
Unfortunately, System UI has stopped.
Hey guys,
I was recently on the new OTA 4.3, then wiped and rooted after flashing an old PTALJ1 and re updating. Although it was weird that KNOX remained in the bootloader and still said i had Custom Binary Counts (YES 2 Counts) current binary was custom and system status was custom. The KNOX WARRANT VOID had a 1 next to it and AP SWREV:A2
This was after countless times trying to wipe all data and do a complete fresh wipe like I used to always do using the KIES_HOME_L900VPALJ1_L900SPTALJ1_265523_REV04_user_low_ship.tar
For some reason after going to stock 4.3 then backwards to rooted 4.1.2 I had this issue. So I found this on this forums. Gave it a spin and so far seems to have worked great, except when I restart and reboot into download mode, I still show same custom binary counts and knox warranty void. When I reboot I get that system UI has stopped working message. I also am missing icons in the pull down drawer, all that shows is airplane mode and one other. No option to add more.
I am hoping someone can shed some light on what I did wrong or what I can do to fix my issues. All I want is everything back to normal for now, no custom binaries, no voided knox warranty, and system UI working. Thanks guys
Thank you very much

I would try updating profile and PRL. If that doesn't work verify that your modem is showing under About Phone correctly. If not reflash the One-Click and see if the modem sticks.
Also, try entering ##72786# to re-activate on the network.

Been reading the forums and realize it is not possible to go from 4.3 back to 4.1.1 to unlock via service menu.
My question is this, if I root 4.3 can the phone be Sim unlocked that way? I'm asking on behalf of some coworkers.

So I haven't been on a S3 for a little while but I do remember. In fact if you want to downgrade the AT&T S3 (SGH-I717) from 4.3 to lower firmwares such as 4.1.1 for free unlocking download this: http://terafile.co/407413755110/I747UCDLK3_I747ATTDLK3_I747UCDLK3_HOME.zip which will be the stock 4.1.1 ROM. I REPEAT DO NOT FLASH ANY BOOTLOADERS AS IT WILL RESULT IN A HARDBRICK!!! THE ZIP ONLY CONTAINS THE OS SO YOU'RE GOOD. You'll need Odin, I prefer 3.07 because the new 3.09 changes the button names. You can download Odin from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1168421&d=1341114315
Alright so on to the downgrading. (this will wipe everything so back up before hand)
"I'm not held responsible for any damage to your device. You have been WARNED"
1. Turn off the device and go into download mode by holding the power button and volume up, you should be greeted with some description press volume up to continue
2. Plug your device into your computer and open Odin.
3. Click PDA and search for the ROM you dowloaded. (Make sure you extract the ROM out of its zip form to get the .tar)
4. One selected in PDA press start and sit back and enjoy your free unlock this can be used for any stock OS just remember to not flash any bootloaders
Side Note: It takes a while to flash and also reboot. If the phone doesn't reboot do a factory reset through the recovery and it should boot. I believe this will also work for other variants of the S3 as long as you have the right stock image

Do you remove the bootloader from the tar file by deleting it from the file to be flashed via Odin?
Good Question
That is a Good question Audit. I second that as I am also interested in the answer to that.
Don't waste your time with this if you are looking to sim unlock. You can downgrade the software version from 4.3 to 4.1 but you still will not have the ability to unlock on the new boot loader, as stated above downgrading the boot loader will hard brick your device. I've spent hours trying to find a way and it's not possible right now, If you are on the latest boot loader you will not be able to unlock regardless of software version.
Hello XDA, for those of us that are using the 4.3 bootloader and running an aosp rom, that would like to update to t-mobile's new N900TUVUCNB4 modem WITHOUT updating to new bootloader...follow these instructions. This is what worked for me after a bit of trial and error. My setup prior to this update was- 4.3 bootloader, MI7 firmware, philz recovery, Will's Slim Kat V7, and slimkat gapps 4.4.2.
STEP 1- DO A NANDROID BACK-UP.
STEP 2- DOWNLOAD VISION X3 ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559321)
STEP 3- DOWNLOAD CivZ-SnapKat-Rev1.9-sm_n900T-4.4.2 KERNEL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2613305)
STEP 4- DOWNLOAD TRIANGLE AWAY APK (GOOGLE IT)
STEP 5- COPY ALL 3 ITEMS IN STEPS 2,3,4 TO YOUR EXTERNAL SD CARD. BOOT INTO YOUR CUSTOM RECOVERY. DO A FACTORY DATA WIPE, WIPE CACHE & DALVIK CACHE. FLASH VISION ROM, FLASH CIVZ KERNEL, AND REBOOT. BE PATIENT....BOOT TIME TAKES ABOUT 5MINS. AFTER ROM IS BOOTED...INSTALL TRIANGLE AWAY APK USING A FILE EXPLORER AND RUN THE APP. PHONE WILL SHUT DOWN .
STEP 6- NOW FROM YOUR PC, DOWNLOAD ODIN 307 (http://samsung-updates.com/Odin307.zip). UNZIP DOWNLOAD ON YOUR PC AND OPEN ODIN PROGRAM AND CONNECT YOUR PHONE TO PC IN DOWNLOAD MODE.
STEP 7- DOWNLOAD MODEM.BIN THAT I HAVE EXTRACTED FROM OTA. (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fx72lner8mud9kq/nXqmHJsfrz/modem.bin) NOW FLASH USING ODIN MAKING SURE MODEM.BIN IS SELECTED UNDER PHONE FILE BUTTON AND CHECKBOX IS CHECKED. MAKE SURE NOT TO UNPLUG DEVICE AND WAIT TILL ODIN HAS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY.
STEP 8- AFTER PHONE HAS REBOOTED. PULL BATTERY AND BOOT INTO BOOTLOADER MODE AGAIN. CONNECT TO PC AND OPEN ODIN AGAIN. MAKE SURE TO HIT RESET BUTTON IN ODIN SO NOTHING IS SELECTED.
STEP 9- DOWNLOAD YOUR CUSTOM RECOVERY OF YOUR CHOOSING...JUST MAKE SURE ITS A .TAR FILE FLASHABLE IN ODIN. FLASH RECOVERY IN ODIN UNDER PDA FILE BUTTON AND CHECKBOX CHECKED.
STEP 10- AND FINALLY, PERFORM A CLEAN WIPE & INSTALL OF THE CUSTOM ROM YOU WERE USING PRIOR TO THIS TUTORIAL.
ENJOY!!
What's the benefits of the new modem?

Sorry brother for 2 reasons...1- not sure if a zip would work in this case. And 2, more importantly, I don't know how to make a flashable zip yet...lol. ;(

Can you tell me why we can't just skip all of the installing of new ROM's and Triangle Away, and go straight to this step:
STEP 7- DOWNLOAD MODEM.BIN THAT I HAVE EXTRACTED FROM OTA. (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fx72lner8...sfrz/modem.bin) NOW FLASH USING ODIN MAKING SURE MODEM.BIN IS SELECTED UNDER PHONE FILE BUTTON AND CHECKBOX IS CHECKED. MAKE SURE NOT TO UNPLUG DEVICE AND WAIT TILL ODIN HAS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY.
If that is all it takes to install the new modem, then why not just do that step?
Confused....
Is there anyway you could extract the 4.3 boot loader for me? I would like to try to get back on the 4.3 boot loader with this method or give it a try at least. TIA

That is correct. All you need to do is flash the modem.bin in ODIN, nothing else and you will have the NB4 radio. And no, you cannot flash the modem via the recovery kernel (it appears to be locked), you have to be in download mode and I have not tried heimdall, so cannot tell you if that works.
dont bother updating the modem. it doesnt help. i am currently getting my third replacement device due to the lte signal issue. my sisters optimus f6 has a -86dbm lte signal while our notes are always over -100dbm. they said the kitkat update would fix the issue how ever it hasnt. the signal bars will show you as having a full signal but if you take note of the actuall signal strength before and after you will see it infact does not change. you can install the modem itself with out the other steps atleast i did on my secondary device but like i said its pointless. there is a power control feature built into these phones that are robbing us of our beloved lte. ril.modem.lte.powercontrol i tried to set it to false and off but nothing really seams to affect it. i personally believe samsung messed up with the antenna on this device. dont believe do it for yourself and please let me know. maybe i have just gotten two shotty devices in a row. but we shall see.......
Noted, I will do a before and after test when I get home.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
so i took the back cover off the phone to expose the internals. so no antenna on the device at all....guess what -106dbm with the antenna i get -104dbm samsung might want to rethink this antenna design cus we pretty much just dont have an antenna.........
Can we revert back to the old modem? I don't know if it's this modem or if it's a rom issue but I can't record video on TW roms. Yup. Just tried Tweaked and XNote. They both can't record video. Recording failed. I hope I can go back to the old modem.
okay 90% battery level is before and other is after the modem update.

that is amazing though that is with att. i have wondered about att's service with these phones. i know with my sisters optimus i can roam on atts network but cant do any sorta roaming with my note. i really hope that its just my phone will know more tomorrow as they are shipping me my third device. im really considering telling tmo to f off and just sim unlocking this device and using a att mvno.......
Can this modem be used on the vzw note 3? i have the dev edition, and was thinking about trying this modem out but i don't want to if there's no point. I figure it won't work, however i'm not certain. Thanks in advance!
Anyone have the MI7 modem handy to grab. Also has anyone tried odin back/forth on MI7/NB4?

TRY THIS IF YOU ARE SUFFERING DATA LOST OR GPS ONLY 4.4.2 OR YOU UPDATE THE PHONE AND YOUR LTE IS DROPPING
1) Open Phone, go to the dialer.
2) Enter *#197328640# to enter the service mode. You will land at "DEBUG SCREEN"
3) Hit the menu key, select "Key Input" and in the Input Value box, enter Q (capital letter) and hit OK
4) Hit the menu key again, select "Key Input", and in the Input value box, enter 0000 (four zeros) and hit OK
5) Wait about 5-10 seconds, your service menu should change to "MAIN MENU":
PHP:
MAIN MENU
[1] PROTOCOL STATE
[2] UE SETTINGS & INFO
[3] ETC
[4] DEBUG SCREEN(OPEN)
[5] OPERATOR(OPEN)
DONT MESS AROUND, but if you want to reset your modem and GPS (restore the factory NV values for the modem, which COULD help data dropouts, bad GPS fix, etc.), do the following:
1) Enter the MAIN MENU as described above
2) Select option 2 "UE SETTINGS & INFO"
3) Select option 1 "SETTING"
4) Select option 2 "SYSTEM"
5) Select option 3 "NV REBUILD"
6) Select option 3 "ALL"
7) It will tell you to reboot. Do it. Reboot will take slightly longer, but it will completely reset the modem, GPS, and IMS settings
