The Galaxy Nexus is released today in the Netherlands so i bought one.
I really like the phone and was ready to root it tonight but then i got a phonecall.
The speaker sounds awfull...like the speaker has blown up...its hard to hear what the other person is saying with all that vibration coming out of the speaker.
Anybody else having this issue?

You probably should post what you did to fix it because maybe another person does the same and gets the same fault as you did.
Even if it started working after a rebbot.

Basically, I'd bent one of the connector pins for the speaker back on itself so the circuit wasn't complete.
Lesson learnt: Always check what your'e NOT repairing also to make sure you haven't accidentally damaged something else! One quick look over the phone would have saved me having to open it back up again!!
it's ok !
I bought second Hox, it was damaged, i flashed new rom and it boot and works good except microphone, i thought it is software problem but nothing helped so i decided to look inside the phone. I discovered that phone in the past was droped in the water... The connection part from volume button too microphone is a little broken by someone who tried repair the phone and badly colsed the cover. Do You think if i replace this part it will work? Is it possible that everything is working and headphone microphone works and something else can cause this fail? I dont want to buy part that will not fix the problem... Can anyone help me make a decision?

So my note 2 mic is not working . Only speakerphone and bluetooth work. My question is is the mic easy to replace? Is it part of the motherboard or seperate? If its seperate anyone have a broken note 2 willing to sell? Is it weird that speakerphone works and not regular method of talking on a phone? Any help would be great. And by the way no voice apps work either ie google svoice etc. Thanks

Try going back to complete stock rom. If you are on custom rom.

What's funny is that if the speaker phone is working. Then in theory the Mic should b good. Because it uses the same one! I agree with the above poster, if your running a custom Rom I would go back to stock to see if that fixes your problem. Another thing I would look at is if the Mic, is clogged up with lint/dust. It happen to my brother's daughter phone. Called me saying her phone don't work, can't here her talking!! Cuz I'm the tech guy of the family, told her to try and clean out her Mic. After that she called her dad now he can here her fine.

Thanks for your help. I am on stock rom. Already faxtory reset. And tried to clean the mic hole. I'm out of ideas and don't want to take this phone apart. I use the bluetooth but it's driving me crazy.

Isn't your phone still under manufacturer warranty? Why would you pay or do this yourself?

I forgot to mention I bought this phone used and have no paperwork . So I cant do warranty I dont think.
I bought it from cl and it worked fine for a few days . Before you say I got ripped off I only paid 100 cash + a galaxy s1. So even with the 25 $ mic still came out clean . Phoneis mint except non working mic .

I work for a cell phone retailer as a repair technician and warranty repair is free lol. I can see any manufacturer charging for shipping though, unless you complain enough. The warranty follows the device not the phone number
Well after over a month I finally got my note 2 back. .. They sent it back to me broken so I sent it back and finally got it yesterday. They replaced the pba which is the mother board ... It works great and glad to be back

Sorry to revive this thread, but I'm having the same issue. Completely stock, mic works with speakerphone and obviously bluetooth, but not on normal calls.
Thoughts?
Hi guys since yesterday afternoon for some reason my headphones or even my headset keeps disconnecting automatically. If I insert them they will work for a few seconds and then itll stop. If I place it in a certain position it stays connected but if it moves just the slightest it cut off again.
I looked at the connections inside the jack port and it seems fine.
When the problem started I was on stock .211 firmware rooted locked bootloader. I then updated to .96 firmware hoping it would.fix the problem. But it didnt.

It is phisycal problem, conector inside is damaged.
I got the same problem, and that why i will sell this and buy some newer phone.

I dont understand how that could happen because this was a replacement phone about two months ago as my other one was damaged. And there has been no physical damage to the phone.

Don't know mate, i listen to music a lot with headset and On speaker.
My jack input have been damaged somehow, external speakers, headset, any kind of external speakers conected to my Sxs must be holded tight or it gets disconected.
Sorry mate, faulty unit like my. :-/
