[Q] Best battery saving ROM - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Last week I installed Touchwi5 Rom and it was running good, but the battery drained so fast, I bought a new battery and tried using it with that one, but no change, so can anyone tell me a good Battery saving ROM, I mostly use my phone for gaming but on my previous phone, I used to play many games for hours and the battery was fine. I've tried Touchwi5, Cyanogenmod 9/10/10.1 but still, no change.

[Q] Battery Drain - Yet another whining thread - CM7.2

Hello all together
I'm browsing xda for a little more than a year now. You guys helped me a lot!
First I want to apology my english, I hope you understand what I want to say
Not a long time ago the battery of my WFS lasted up to 3 days (incredible if I think of it now).
That was with a self rooted stock rom and some changes (bravia, turboboost script, oc-kernel, etc.).
Out of nowhere I had problems with my calendar.sync.provider. Processes htc.bg and htc.bgp used the most of my battery (found out with Battery Mix).
I could watch the percent falling... Battery was getting very hot.
After i killed calendar.provider and calendar itself those bg-processes disappeared and all went back to normal.
Installed m1nd's rom, tried a lot of different settings, used calengoo instead of normal calendar (uninstalled the other)...
But battery life was never the same since then.
We also had a really rough winter and I was outside a lot. my battery began to drain faster. First I began to install apps like "auto wifi toggle" to stop that battery drain, after all I just bought a new battery this spring - 1500mAh.
But other than i expected - battery life did not increase. So I decided to install CM7.2 (wanted to do it anyway - great work btw!).
And guess what, nothing changed...
You will find some screenshots at the end... (did barely use the phone this 4 hours)
So what can I do? I'm desperate. The battery does not hold the whole day...
Please give me some tipps (if you have others than the general battery saving thread) or at least cheer me up
tl;dr: Phone works for 10h (mail, text, no phones, no games) - Changing battery & ROM does not fix battery drain...
Thank you in advance!
it happens to me too unfortunately, i charge it everyday or every 2 days
when i play a small mini game for a few minutes, battery drains like over 10% in a few minutes.
Have you tried calibrating the battery?

Hey scilax can you please tell me how to. Calibrate the battery.
Me too get a smaller backup when 3g is used for some 3 to 4 hours.
Please tell about that calibrating

Thing is, I charge my phone everyday. And I've been using CM7 or CM9, battery life never lasts more than a day. If it's only lasting 4-10 hours. Check your sync settings. Keep it only on 2G networks if using data. Get a battery saving application, in my opinion, it sounds like your using a lot of mobile data/wifi.

[Q] Any KERNELS/ROMS similarin battery saving to Cyanogenmod?

I had been using CM7 for a while, and had great experience with it's battery life, sometimes lasting up to 3 days on a single charge.
But some things didn't work well, such as the barcode scanner, camera working eraticly, and the lack of PS Pocket.
So I get back to a stock based ROM, Xperia NXT. It's good on battery life, but not nearly as good as CM7.
I'm looking for something different. Just looking for opinions. One thing to note, DoomKernel SUCKS on my phone. Any time I install it, the battery is sucked dry in hours for some weird reason.
Any ideas?

I have the latest CM 7.2 FXP 122, for me everything works perfectly & smooth, i get about a day & a half battery life with the kernel that is in the zip file, i play alot of music through headphones, surf the internet (facebook mostly lol) & a few games, i havent noticed any bugs, everything like camera, sensors etc work nicely

IMHO AOKP (milestone 6) with Lupus#4-cfs clocked @ 1.3ghz with smartassV2 gives me great battery life. I can get 36 hours with moderate usage. full day with what I consider heavy usage.

VERY HIGH Batterydrain on CM7.2

Hi,
like the titel said, i experience huge batterydrain on CM7.2 RC2/133.
I am using the stock CM7 kernel that comes with the rom. I reflashed it several times but not much changed!
At first my device didn't go into deep sleep, but since the last reflash it does.
Over night i loose ~10% ... flightmode is activated.
After 1,5 day's the battery is empty... even if i dont use the phone. Wifi/3G/bluetooth etc. are allways OFF.
I also untervolted the device but nothing changed.
I am charging my battery at the moment, so i can't post any betterbatterystats log's. But i will in some hours!!
Basically my question is, which kernel do you use? What kernel can i use on CM7.2? Are there any better ROM's when it comes to batterylife/performace?
PS: i never flashed baseband or wifi modules etc. when i installed CM7.2... just did as it said in the "how to install CM7.2".
Try this.
1. Empty your battery.
2. Charge your battery for 6 - 8 hours.
3. After that remove battery stats.
I tried this as I'm having battery drain on NXT ROM. Before that my battery can only stand for one day then need to recharge. After doing this, my battery still have 50% after a day of usage.
Just saying, it has been confirmed that removing the battery stats does absolutely nothing.
so should i try another kernel? Which fits for CM7.2 best?

My friend taught me this lol. He even showed me a YouTube video.
Somehow it worked.

You really should upgrade to CM9 unless there is a reason you're holding back.

[Q] CM10 - High battery consumption

Hi!
I have installed CM10 nightly (ROM and kernel) from the CM website onto my wife's phone. Everything is fine except the battery consumption. I've purchased an absolutely fresh battery, and being removed from the socket around 08:00 the phone has to be charged already around 16:00.
Can someone recommend a ROM/kernel combo that will give a longer battery life?
I'm not asking which one is best, I just need one based on 4.1 which is stable and has a long battery life.

You have to try out yourself, because every person uses phone differently and thereby every phone uses battery juice differently.
On the phone off my girlfriend exactly the same problem....
Cyanogenmod the phone socks around 6% without being used. Also with fusion kernel or fax kernel
With CM10 and Fusion 5.4 I had excellent battery life...
Have you tried "wakelock detector" in order to find out if something keeps your phone awake? On my phone the only thing draining was Maps/Google Now, so if you want this feature it will drain battery at any JB Rom. Without it, I had battery for 1-2 days with 4h screen on time!

[Q] Need VZW rom with good batt life.

A few months ago I had paranoid rom that was great on batt life. 3% loss from midnight till 6am.
I was blown away that I could use this phone so much and it hardly ever drain batt.
Kept telling me there was an update so I did and battery life went to hell...
Tried some others, Aokp and now liquid smooth. LOVE the Liquid smooth, but 25% over night is un-acceptable. this thing on the last few roms is constantly needing charged.
I tried restoring that one version of paranoid, but just wasnt the same.
so curious on suggestions on a better ROM or something.
There is no answer to this question. Different people have different preferences and experiences. If there was a ROM that was clearly better than the others, almost everyone would likely be running it.
Your best bet is to find out why your battery is draining. Use something like Better Battery Stats to figure out what apps may be draining your battery. Perhaps it is an app or two that is synchronizing a lot. Perhaps there are wakelocks.
Alternatively, it could also be hardware. Perhaps the battery is dying. Perhaps the USB port is having issues, and it wakes the device/screen up from time to time.
thanks cup... i just wiped and put that old one back on... will check it tonight. then ill put that better batts stats on.

You may want to start with trying a different kernel and see if that helps.
