I'm running axi0m crossbreed with Franco kernel (was on r98 when it started doing this, moved to m2 now and it's continuing.) and I seem to be getting a crazy amount of wakelocks from a few different things..
Modem_usb_suspend_block
Modem_usb_gpio_wake
Alarm_rtc
Musb_autosuspend_wake_lock
Event2-935
It's not super draining on my battery it seems, but i'm being kind of OCD about it I guess. Wondering if anyone had any information or ideas? Been searching around a bit on the forums but to no avail.
hi,
to find out which apps / processes are causing these locks you should install
BetterBatteryStats: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
also try and search that thread for the locks you mentioned, i'm sure you'll find some useful tips
about the alarm_rtc wakelock;
install terminal emulator from market and type these commands:
- su ( followed by ENTER )
- dumpsys alarm ( followed by ENTER )
it will dump some info on your screen
scroll upwards a bit and search for 'Alarm Stats'
here you can find the processes that keep your phone from deep sleep
for instance...the process com.google.android.gsf (gtalk) has been running 584ms and woke up my phone 33 times --> look at screenshot
when you see a lot of wake ups you know you've got a problem
also...try to keep track off the apps you've got running in the background before turning off screen, i always check the 'recent apps' list and swipe away all the apps running in the background before i put my phone in standby
hope this helps you a bit
so what can i do to get rid of some of these wakelocks i have a ton of them lol 20 wakeups from gtalk 23 from phone and some others with 5 and 6 i just dont know what to do to get rid of them.
Thanks for the response about the alarm. Im getting this info from betterbatterystats.
The alarm one isn't giving me so much trouble as the other ones. The modem ones are the ones i'm more concerned about. I don't tether and keep my 4g off when not using it. Thankfully my phone still spends most of its time in deep sleep anyways, so it's not a huge issue. Just a minor annoyance.

don't worry about such amounts...you were probably using gtalk or the app was open in your recent apps list
do you get bad batterydrain? if so something else must be causing it
*check this post for example...if you're getting wake ups like this something is definitely wrong

Thanks and honestly no I'm not I'd say about 14 to 16 hours with 4± screen on I was just wondering if it could be better lol

These are some great tips! I found that on my phone Light Flow had 3700 wakelocks overnight! No wonder my battery is draining like crazy. I was going to uninstall Light Flow but while looking in the settings I discovered that it had a feature to "leave app in foreground"turned on which is probably why this app has so many wakelocks. I turned it off and now I'm going to see if that helps. Thanks all who contributed to this post.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/google-music-limits-device-deauthorization-makes-flashers-pay/
Check out this thread on google music if you use it and love to flash rooms. Says google music will only allow 10 devices, so if you flash a lot of rooms you may have to open a new account

No sweat, just deauthorize your google device friends..
"Sign into your Google Music account via a PC. In the upper right most corner of the Music page, right next to your photo, if you have one, is the cog. Click on the cog and you will be presented with options. Select music settings and viola. You will quickly and easily see every device currently authorized to your Google music account along with their dates."
(source)
http://androidspin.com/2011/12/17/h...uld-deauthorized-google-music-synced-devices/
You can only dauthorize 4 devices a year now.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Just tested it and it will only allow 4 devices to be deauthorized before it gives you the "sorry you have deauthorized to many devices" message. That's going to be problematic if you change DD's every other month.
Google sooooo stupid.

Yeah I sent a nasty e-mail about this.
At least you guys get Google Music, it's not available here in Canada. Well technically it's not available, there are ways around it I guess but you still don't get the whole service/experience.
anybody know how to reset your music database? I wanna clear it and re-sync it

Try wiping it through titanium.
_____
It sucks as a service anyway. You have to jump through hoops just to get what you pay for in a format that you can take elsewhere. I use it like the Amazon app store, download freebies or cheap stuff and ignore it otherwise.

I really hate this since I use this a lot. Will we have to re-authorize if we restore google music though Titanium?
According to the edit, Google has fixed the issue but the deauthorization still shows 4 as the limit.
I just went through and deauthorized 9 accounts like a week ago. Who knows.

They should have updated to an unlimited amount as of the new year and I could be wrong but I believe it registers devices not roms.. meaning if you flash a rom for our t989..that's 1 device regardless if its juggs, cm7 or darkside.. build.prop will determine device
this might be a little off topic, but is there a music app that lets me create a playlist easily without having to add songs 1 by 1? i just want to be able to play my 2000 songs in random order without the same songs repeating. i tried to do this by play shuffle all but once it stops and i start the next day, some song from previous day gets played again.
They reverted back till they make it where it.reads.the.phone id number because.the.build.prop was a stupid idea.

In subsonic you can just add everything to play then shuffle and save the playlist. At most it would be 26 + numbered artist names to add via play now. The random shuffle feature doesn't add very many songs. I think one file manager will allow you to create a playlist just by selecting the directory that contains the music. Its not estrongs. Can't remember the name of it.

Awesome they reverted back, I was able to deauthorize the remaining 4!

Has a solution been found? I have the same issue. I thought it might have been a ROM issue, but after trying a few ROMs I still have the same issue. Is there some setting I need to activate within Calendar?
Have you both checked your calendar app that you've got an appointment within the next 7 days?

Yep, that's one of the reasons why I was thinking I've not checked a box somewhere in settings somewhere, but I have been playing around with this for so long that I have no idea what the problem could be

It works for me, do you have a location in your event? I'm not sure when they pop , but I just made a dummy one for 6 pm and it showed up about 530. I can check my settings if you like.

Sharing ur setting will be appreciated
I didn't realise I needed to set locations, but some do have them. I'll go through them and add addresses to the all and see how it goes then.

I'm not sure it makes a difference, but my appts are set up with notifications in the calendar app. I can't help but think a location is required, because the notification is based on whether you need to leave for traffic issues in Google Now. However, the dummy appt I set was located at home, and it popped up.
The GN settings I have are - Card appears for any meeting, and if travel time needed, standard. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your help!
I might try a dummy appt too.
For my settings, I seem to have different options... I have - For any meeting, Only if far away, and In evening for next day. At the moment I only have the first one ticked which I thought would bring up appts regardless of time and travel...

Not sure, but they came packaged with Liquid ROM. Can't see it being the issue coz it hasn't mattered which ROM/ gapps I've flashed.

I had this issue ... My phone has two calendar apps, fir Google now and voice check of next appointment to work Google calendar has to be the default calendar app
Just curious but how many apps do you have in your recent apps list?
I started getting in the habit of NOT swiping away my apps as it's been said it's a waste of time and doesn't give you any better battery/performance changes.
I'm up to 64 apps with 46 hours uptime.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I have around 85 apps. I don't think uptime matters since recents isn't cleared during a reboot.

Ah you're right. I forgot it's all kept now. Just crazy to me that it keeps what might be unlimited (Or is it 100) apps in the list. Unless it's something I used in the last ten or so apps, it's faster for me to just go to my folders and find the app .
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I swipe some of them away only because some apps have problem with recovering from recents or remember the last session, but I want to start over. Otherwise.. 80% of my apps are in recents.
With root you can try this app. It removes apps after a certain amount of time from the recents list (it's not killing them since they don't run anymore anyways).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.recently
So as most people know, since DP3 was released, Android now automatically clears up the recent apps view. When I wake up it's down to 8-10 apps.

Hi. Please see the video.
How can I fix this? Do you have same problem?
I have done like 20 hard resets but no luck. The photos are copied to phone memory.. Still the same.

Also see below for worst message app performance

Are those picts on an SD card? Either way, I don't see any problem. Were you expecting everything to be instantaneous?

Yes. But tried copying to phone and removing sd card. Still same experience.

If you're using a 3rd party gallery app then that could be your problem cause mine doesn't do that

If its 3rd party gallery.. I dont even bother a thing. It is the default gallery app that came with phone. And even default message app has issues on mine.
Do you think any of this is related to the battery problem?

You might want to try this:
Go to settings --> about device --> software info
Tap on build info loads of times till it says developer menu activated.
Go to settings --> developer options --> scroll down and set the following to off.
Window animation scale = set to off
Transition animation scale = set to off
Animator duration scale = set to off
See if this improves the speed of things for you. (It turns all system animations off)
Wether or not this helps get your device replaced as my note7 has none of these issues...

I have done that too.. But it did not help. The problem is everything else works fine.. I mean other system apps are super fast. Its just weird.
I don't have any issues with messages or picture gallery. I shut off all animations in developer options (I always do as I don't like the animations and they just waste time and resources IMO). I disabled Messaging and Messages + and only use Handcent/Next messaging app. I also use Quickpic for my gallery app, although I did not disable the stock gallery app as it seems to be used by default for several other apps (camera being one). I do think any messages app will start to bog once the amount of texts builds up, and I text a lot - about 3000 texts a month, so in almost 3 weeks I have quite a few texts already. No bogging yet however.
I have same issue. Actually I had the same thing on Note 5 too. It happens sometimes and goes away when the phone is restarted. No 3rd part gallery app or anything else. It even happens on a fresh system. An update might fix this in the future hopefully

have the same problem in my galaxy s7 edge.. the gallery problem works better when you pinch the photo to dismiss, only when I use the back button (on screen or the capacitive button) it stutters. Also in the messaging app I am experiencing your same issue. Hope Samsung fix this on next update...
