I have a s plus so i'm use to flash my phone roms and kernels. i tried to upgrande his phone but its difficult to find archives to do from origin.
Thats what i have.
to do the root first
- i've root file(update in gio) and unroot file.
then i' thought i need a cwm
and i ve this file
-tass-cwm-14-08-2013
i want to put a new recovery mod like
twrp 14.0
for now i just tried to did that. but i dont know how it went wrong and im stuck in samsung logo and it wont enter to recovery mod.
I tried to find the ops file for gio everywhere to flash the old recovery mode with odin and i cant find th ops file. sites closed, fake files. and so on.
can you send me a link where i could download it well?
if you could help me what correct files to do what i have in mind it would be great too.
and what is the best battery life and phone capacity?
Sorry for my english mystakes.

my multi downloader v.4.43 can´t read this file...
its a text file...
Just to clarify here, "tass" is Galaxy Mini, so You flashed the recovery for the wrong device. The Gio's identifier is "gio". As for the issue with not being able to open the OPS file, did you check its file extension after downloading it?
I found the ops file at web. It was difficult because many file hosts are dead. I finaly have done it ive installed the basic firmware of gio and then ive flashed the PT firmware 2.3.6. As last resort. All with odin.
What I want do is to flash a New firmware stable, a new recovery mod touch, and the last rom 4.4.2 stable for gio. Can you tell me the best for gio?
I tried to do this but the phone never turn of only with the turn off button it did with cable connect at pc or battery charge.
Can you tell me how it happen? I think when i flashed the original rom with odin Ive disconect to soon. And then I couldnt turn on phone normaly.
I try it again from beginning and i let the phone connected till odin says pass. And then i disconnect the cable and its ok now.

It is a zip file, but it seems to be corrupt, because it could not be unzipped. Did someone have the same issue?
BTW, which tool to flash the rom with? CWM or ODIN?
Thanks!

Downloaded an earlier version for Malaysia and flashed it onto the phone with ODIN. Everything runs great!
Then I got the phone rooted, and deleted some stock apps that are obviously needed by nobody. But several app specific for Malaysia could not be permanently removed, like B-Secure, Clozette, EZ-link, POEMS. You delete it, restart the phone, one or some of these apps jump out; when you unroot you phone, all of them come back. How come this could happen? Zombie apps never die!!??
remove them using root explorer or titanium backup. =)
Also....don't remove, at first try to "freeze"...you can do this also with Free from Market Gemini App Manager, Expert Mode...stop autoruns and block App.....

Go to firmwares.
Download the one for your phone.
Boot into download. Flash with odin.
The file u downlaoded is to be flashed via cwm or twrp. Not via odin. It will be a zip file. Flash the whole zip together.

Have you gotten back into twrp recovery yet?
If youre stuck in a bootloop which it sounds like...hold volume up home button and power until device turns off and once you see samsung logo let go.
Did you make a back up before you flashed? If so restore it and youll be fine. If not then you need to remember this...always always make a backup. Every thread on here says make a backup before you flash.
And btw I dont hate noobs. We all were at one point and I remember how stressful it can be when you're unsure of what youre doing amd think youve bricked. Pm me if you need help. As long as either you can get into recover via the method I said above or alternative method is plug you phone in your pc, open up cmd prompt in then folder you put all your android root files. (Hold shift and right click in a blank space in the folder, then go to open command propmpt here. Then type in:
adb reboot recovery
That will also get you in recovery.

Do you have a custom recovery installed? I can do both of the following for you: Send you a good custom recovery for the Gio and send you a custom recovery flashable .zip of the Galaxy Gio 2.3.6 Stock ROM. Though I wouldn't be able to do it right away (I can do it this weekend), how about it?

Your ops file is the real mess behind all this. Just rename it. Remove any model number from its name. For example:- (for mini) "S5570_TASS_v1.0.ops" is wrong. & the correct name is "TASS_v1.0.ops"
★Remember that Odin will display the model number of ur device in its title bar as soon as u place the correct ops file under OPS field regardless of whether the phone is physically connected to PC or not★

No No No... Not at all. It's correct(if model no. appears in Odin's title bar) You should check ur phone's drivers then or install them again on PC to get ur phone detected coz that's only the possible reason left then.

Hello
I have a little big problem with my Gio. Yesterday, accidentally i tripped over the USB cord, that was connected to teh PC and the phone, and i think e may have busted the USB port on the phone. Now it doesn't recognize the phone (it says "USB device not recognized"). I've tried installing a number of drivers, and it simply refuses to connect. Also i think it's not charging properly.
The problem is, the waranty is void without the stock rom, but to flash the stock rom i need odin, and odin is only by usb...
My question here is, can't this be done with the recovery menu, i mean, backup the stock rom from another gio, and then use that backup on my phone?
Thanks
EDIT: SOLVED
Used Mobile Odin available in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2193834
Well, i think it's possible to go back to stock with flashable zips, look around on the forums abit you should find some.
Also make sure you go back to stock recovery (somehow) and unroot.

The recovery i know i can flash, because i did it once, the only big problem is really the firmware. i can't seem to find it anywhere.
Ya if u cant find a flashable one then look on the samsung firmware sites like sammobile.com and find a firmware with your baseband.
And with a bit of luck you may find someone wanting to help you and turn it into a flashable zip. (I would do it but i have no idea how to even start on that)
You could do it yourself but 1 mistake and your pphone is hardbricked, and not booting + a broken plug will look quite suspicious at the service centre.
Good luck

Don't use and dont need pit file.
Find the stock shipped tar file (aka) 4.1.2 Rom
Load in pda leave everything checkedbin odin thats checked.
Rooting isnt hard at all just got my s4 3 hrs ago rooted in 5 minutes soon as I walked in the door.
You need the Root_m919uvuamdl.zip
And then flash MDB setUIDoff .zip
Then flash superuser.
Thats it.

Let me ask you one thing. .. is the com port in odin coming up recognize the phone ...if so you are not bricked. . The two vital things u need to see is com port turn on usually blue color and download mode..
The problem def lies somewhere else possibly bad tar file .
Try to find another source for the stock rom tar file another option is boot into recovery and flash a stock rom if you have recovery still
