thats the problem, i cant because my computer doesnt recognize my phone in download mode so i cant do the rom installation from odin.

Do you have a custom recovery installed? I can do both of the following for you: Send you a good custom recovery for the Gio and send you a custom recovery flashable .zip of the Galaxy Gio 2.3.6 Stock ROM. Though I wouldn't be able to do it right away (I can do it this weekend), how about it?

i have clockworkmod recovery installed. if you can and its not a problem i would love to have the flashable stock rom, i really appreciate that you want to help me )

Your ops file is the real mess behind all this. Just rename it. Remove any model number from its name. For example:- (for mini) "S5570_TASS_v1.0.ops" is wrong. & the correct name is "TASS_v1.0.ops"
★Remember that Odin will display the model number of ur device in its title bar as soon as u place the correct ops file under OPS field regardless of whether the phone is physically connected to PC or not★

No No No... Not at all. It's correct(if model no. appears in Odin's title bar) You should check ur phone's drivers then or install them again on PC to get ur phone detected coz that's only the possible reason left then.

Was just wondering how I could get it to work. I think I have the correct drivers installed, as I installed Samsung Kies, but I could be wrong. Anyone have any suggestions?

You do have to make sure that the USB debugging is off.
I couldn't get it to work in CM9 so I just went back to stock gingerbread.

This is an easy one ... From your phone's dialer, type:
##8778#
then select CP instead of AP. This will put your phone is SERIAL MODE ... after you make this change, you should see a new port in DEVICE MANAGER / PORTS / SAMSUNG Serial Port ...
When you're done with the changes, go back to AP.
DON'T BE SHY PRESSING THE THANKS BUTTON !!!

i got back to stock el29 thank you everyone that odin mobile helped me out
As others have stated must go back to stock TW rom to get phone into diagnostic mode.
I don't think flashing back to GB and then back to AOKP will work. You have to do a full wipe in order for it to behave properly and my PRL was overwritten with the default one upon flashing AOKP.
do this it works

[Q] Issues with gapps after Firmware Update

Whats going on guys? I'm running into a mindboggling issue with my fiance's T-mobile Galaxy S2. I'm going to run down exactly what happened, and if anyone has any suggestions or insight... please share it with me.
Ok first things first, I installed the firmware upgrade through Kies to 4.1.2 the same exact way I did on my S2 just a few minutes before... Except this time, as soon as the phone powered up I got the com.google.process.gapps not working error. I did a little research on it first through here and the most common thing i found was to enable download manger... HOWEVER, under her apps list there isnt any form of a download manager on it. So i checked my phone, just to see if it was a firmware problem, but my phone has DOWNLOADS, as Well as DOWNLOAD MANAGER. There was no way for me to download one through the Google Play on her phone because the phone force closes Google Play as soon as you press it.
From there I downloaded all of the drivers, and odin, so that i could just upload the old 2.3.6 stock rom back on the phone... That worked correctly as well, but as soon as the "Press the Andriod" to setup appeared, I encountered the same error message as before. "(com.google.process.gapps not working) as well as setup wizard not working, and now its not allowing me to set the phone up at all. Does anyone have any insight on this? All help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks!!!
******edit********
I've figured out where i went wrong... I didn't move su-3.0.5-efgh-signed.zip or Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip onto the internal memory before I flashed the 2.3.6 stock rom through odin... Now that i cant get past the "TOUCH THE ANDRIOD TO START SETUP" screen... is there any way i can put it onto the internal memory?

U don't need the su file at all, all that file does is give superuser permissions, try using Odin to flash the stock 4.1.2 firmware to the device that should fix it, like I said u don't NEED the su file, that's only for root, u could Odin a twrp recovery and use that to flash a stock ROM with working gapps, my guess is u just had a faulty kies upgrade and it didn't quite update right, kies is funny sometime, and when u use Odin u need to make sure there is NO trace of kies running at all, remove it from the PC if u can, download the twrp2.6.tar file from http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/hercules and use Odin the same way u did the GB firmware, this will give u custom recovery from there download a stock ROM from here, or go get cl3keners tw-speed-stock ROM from goo.com, mount storage through twrp and move the ROM to ur external SD card, go back to main screen in twrp and select install, find the ROM and flash it, now u will be on stock rooted firmware and should have no issues, pm me if u need further help

[Q] [Solved] Please! CWM Recovery doesn't flash anything properly.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2x GT-S7560M with CWM 5.0.0.4 (I believe) installed on it. My phone was crammed with apps and some system applications weren't working (messaging and dialer to be exact), probably because I removed some system apps without referring to the list of safe apps to remove.
I decided it would be best to just start over. I formatted the phone through cwm and tried to flash the original stock rom.
It displayed error in /sdcard/"name of rom".zip (status 0). Installation aborted.
Some extra information about the problem:
- It can't mount /emmc (I don't know what that is)
- It seems to be unable to mount the internal sd card because I tried flashing a zip from there, but it showed some sort of error.
I forgot to mention that I also checked for bad downloads, and have already tried formatting the sd card itself.

Bump.
Please......bump.
I think emmc is the internal sdcard, so it makes sense that u can't flash zips from there, but it doesnt seem right.
Are u able to go back to stock using Odin? and if so, will youur sdcards (both internal and external) work on that?
I'm sorry, but as my name suggests, I am a total noob. Is Odin, in a way, a recovery mode that can be launched from your computer? Will I be able to flash the stock rom though Odin? I never knew what Odin is, but I've heard little about it, sorry.
Sent from my GT-S7560M using xda app-developers app
Yes, odin is a flashtool for samsung devices.
You can enter into download mode on your phone by pressing volume down+home+power (while vol up+home+power should be recovery)
Once in there, u connect it to the pc via usb, and then u can flash it via odin.
Get odin from this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189539
And samsung usb driver from this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555
Once the usb drivers are installed, odin (when opened and phone is plugged in in download mode) will recognize your phone, indicated by a colored bar beneath the top left square (cyan if using 3.09 or 3.07)
then download your stock firmware from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ (search for "GT-S7560M") any unbraded will do.
once downloaded, open the AP or PDA button in odin (depends on what version you are using) and load the tar.md5 of the firmware u just downloaded into it.
to the left leave all unchecked except for auto-reboot and f. reset. time and then hit flash.
It will install stock firmware on your phone then
To be entirely sure u get it all right, use this guide too --> http://forums.androidcentral.com/sp...08-guide-how-flash-tar-files-odin-3-07-a.html.
Goodluck!
Thank you! I have one more question, after flashing the stock rom, will I be able to flash normally using recovery?

I don't actually own this model of ace II, so I can not say this with certainty, but I expect it to work again after flashing stock rom back via odin.
Then again, I do hope all has worked and u have found out by now

my multi downloader v.4.43 can´t read this file...
its a text file...
Just to clarify here, "tass" is Galaxy Mini, so You flashed the recovery for the wrong device. The Gio's identifier is "gio". As for the issue with not being able to open the OPS file, did you check its file extension after downloading it?
I found the ops file at web. It was difficult because many file hosts are dead. I finaly have done it ive installed the basic firmware of gio and then ive flashed the PT firmware 2.3.6. As last resort. All with odin.
What I want do is to flash a New firmware stable, a new recovery mod touch, and the last rom 4.4.2 stable for gio. Can you tell me the best for gio?
I tried to do this but the phone never turn of only with the turn off button it did with cable connect at pc or battery charge.
Can you tell me how it happen? I think when i flashed the original rom with odin Ive disconect to soon. And then I couldnt turn on phone normaly.
I try it again from beginning and i let the phone connected till odin says pass. And then i disconnect the cable and its ok now.

[Q] stuck in cwm

hey, have been reading around but kind of need a quick "this is what you do" answer!
so, flashed cw6 with odin, popped omni rom onto my device , rebooted into cwm6 and installed rom. Install aborted, and now it just boot loops to recovery as its formatted the previous rom.
All i want really is to get a stock rom onto the device (or a fixed status7 issue rom) but i cant for the life of me remember how to get the phone to go into a download mode so i can push the rom over.
Any help?
Download mode = phone off - home/vol down/power.

also noticed this is in galaxy s2 and i have a note2, but principle is still the same!
That's beside the point. I'm asking mods to move your thread to Note II Q&A.
