ONLY FOR ICS LEAK-BASED ROMS
If you have Gingerbread, don't read further!!
Auto-rotate! :-D
Specifically, this fixes the accelerometer issue altogether. Its a deep fix, going down to the driver level. So games and camera work too.
This should work on all ICS leak-derivative ROMs, including my own (and will be baked into my upcoming release).
Long story short, this was made possible due to the ATT Galaxy Note leak (a cousin of the T989)
In theory we can now start pushing out functional ICS ROMs. But there is still the pesky call echo issue, looking into that.
Feel free to include it in your ROMs...although I do ask for some credit since I spent countless hours in the past few days investigating and investigating. My eyes are sore
Warning: Please make a NANDROID backup prior to flashing this.
You never know what can go wrong.
There is no need to clear Dalvik, but I'd do it anyway if I were you.
This file needs to be flashed with ClockworkMod
So you can put it on your SD card, boot into recovery, and install it.
Be careful though. Make a backup first. Always make backups.
IMPORTANT
After installation, remember to:
1) Enable auto-rotation on your launcher / whatever you prefer. Remember we had a little era of no accelerometer so its a little bit foreign ATM
2) Calibrate your Gyroscope via the Settings -> Display menu
confirmed

yes flash away
Confirmed working on raver's ics blackedition!!!
I was so just about to use the rotation lock bandaid.... thank you ever so much!
Works perfect. no problems during the flash. Just make sure whatever launcher you are running has the auto rotate turned on.
Everyone thought that this would be a problem only source could fix... Congratulations on proving them wrong
Can someone else who hasnt applied the mod download android sensor or something else that will interact with the gyroscope.
It seems like its working in reverse. left and right seems to control for and aft.
I could be crazy. So I would like someone else to confirm.
Try to calibrate it.
Settings -> Display -> Gyroscope calibration

I just played darkmaze and everything seems to be working ok. I Just wanted to confirm that you fix didnt mess up the gyroscope!
Okay.
Kind of freaked me out for a minute...went digging through recycle bin LOL
I'll run some better tests when I get a chance. I'm sure there is room for some refinement.
Thank you all for the feedback

Use Thanks button
Folks, I'm speaking for all of us that subscribe to threads. Instead of posting "Thanks man" or something similar, just hit the "Thanks" button! We don't all need to be alerted when Joe Shmoe writes "thank you". We all appreciate the hard work of the devs - if you want to show your appreciation, keep the threads clean, or better yet, send them money/buy them a drink, if you are so inclined.
Thanks for your indulgence!
Confirmed working on EasyDoesIt. Awesome work!
this is fantastic. Was hoping it would fix Instagram, but it doesn't. I guess there are more issues with our ICS ports than just the auto-rotate. But we're getting closer!
Thank you so much! I can FINALLY play temple run and Asphalt
Hi Guys, can any one help me? It was working fine 2 days ago, But it stopped focusing at all.
Does it relates to any physical damage to device as my device slipped out of my hand 2 days ago but i am not sure that it stopped working at that time.
Hmm...you didn't give us enough info.
Are you on stock ICS?
What app do U use. ( stock cam or something else?)
Try to install some other cam app from market, if focus works at least you'll know it's not a hardware issue.
If U're on cyanogen mod, the focus problem exist, it's already confirmed.
But only on video rec.
I suppose U checked settings and you're not using infinity focus... If so then change to auto or something diferent and then try.

So, hello there XDA, I'm Moon and that Topic Title isn't very informative i know.
But yes, Let me get this straight. I got an Used DHD running CM10.1 until last night on a lan after recording two hours 720p Video with flash i when i wanted to show a friend a youtube video noticed my auto rotation not working,
And well. i thought it was off? so i dont know for how long it didn't work, so after a huge hangover and a long day sleep i tried to Reflash cm10.1 versions without Luck, neither JB Miui roms. though sense gb and ics sense roms do work just fine? I didn't get an solution so right now i run Blackouts rom with sense 3,6 based of 4.0.4, but for sure i know having the accelerometer working on cm10 sometime. Would anybody tell me (if they know) how to fix this?
I'd be super thankful.

Hi sir, And sorry. i did search two Pages long and didn't spot your above mentioned thread.
I tried this "fix" and sadly can't get it to work. i also cant simply jump from rom to rom since I'm s-on But unlocked using HTCdev,
So i have to use cmd for all the boot image flashing.
Hi,
I've been testing almost all the lollipop roms for our note 2, but I noticed that all of them have a problem while making or receiving a call: the screen turns black and it's then not possible to end a call, except by removing the battery, which is very annoying to me.
Can you advice me a rom not having this issue? (I tried proximity fix from the play store, which didn't solve the problem, and my sensors all work great with a stock rom)
I also would like to know if a lollipop rom is compatible with the Spen and has it's functionality ported?
Thank you for your answers and advices, thank you all for making this forum so active.
I use Hazy ROM without any black screen on ending calls. End calls in the usual way.
Also I use note buddy app with the cm note buddy add-on to launch apps on pen removal.

Never mind, I found the link and installed the rom. It's a great one, I don't have anymore problems during calls except that the proximity sensor doesn't turn off my screen during calls...
try resurrection remix, work best for me
its normal to have error since this is the custom roms
using hazy roms makes my imei 0049 :crying:
Hello guys, I've made a small video explaining my issues.
Do you guys have any of these issues? If so, I'd like to ask you to report it to the Google team.
Do you have any possibly working work-around or any other solution other than mine? I'm sure it's not possible to fix the notification issue without rooting and flashing (and I wish to stay on the latest, pure android) but I thought that you guys might have a few good tips or recommendations.
Same issues I have sent them feedback

If you are willing to root and install xposed, gravity box gives you the ability to separate ringtone and notification volume. Works great. Actually, gravity box just works great...
