[Q] Problem with spoofing MAC address - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I tried to sppof my MAC address with this app: MAC Spoofer (changer) but it does not work... In the screen.jpg you can see it...
(Btw: If I have a connection to the router, it comes the same error...)
Thank you for your help :good:

Are you rooted with s-off?

It sppofs my MAC but I can´t log in my router with my spoofed MAC. My MAC-Address is existing (It´s the one of my HTC Desire 500), and my Desire 500 is turned off... Where is the mistake?

[Q] Samba Fileshare

Using Samba file share on my G tab, works like a dream.
On the HTC Incredible however a different story. My Winows Xp and 7 sees the phone but will not give me access.
Any suggestions?
Can't really help, only to say that I've used it with Mac OS X many times with no problems.

Same here. Samba works fine on my Eris and Nook. Different story on the Inc.
I can usually connect as soon as I turn on Samba. After the initial file transfer, I normally lose connectivity. If I remember correctly, I was able to regain access once after rebooting my pc. Even then it's only temporary.
I've google searched for answers to no avail. I haven't yet reached out to the developer.
I think I read somewhere it's about HTC devices blocking ip broadcast or something like that...I don't remember. (Sorry I know this thread it old, but just happen to come upon it.)
I just use File Expert from the market. Then you can tell it to enable web sharing and ftp sharing and then transfer things back and forth as needed.
Samba works for me using HTC Droid Incredible rooted S-off. Didn't have to do anything special either. I would suggest turning on all the wake locks in Samba's settings.

+1 works great for me. Been using it for like 6 months now.
I couldn't get it right to work on my dx, I forgot about the app. Thanks for the little reminder.
I do remember hearing about the block on ip broadcast. One workaround i think I remember is to connect to the ip address rather than the name, ie \\xx.xx.xx.xx.

Newer versions of samba have the ip broadcast / netbios name issue fixed. I can access my droid by its netbios name. However it does not show up on my pc under network, but i can type \\DINC or \\ip# into the address bar and access the phones files on the sd and emmc.
Works great for me to. Samba using Dinc and Windows 7 and Windows Vista computer. Setup was a breeze.

why is it illegal? my router clones my PCs mac address. is that illegal?
ip link (lists the current interfaces)
then
ifconfig blahblah0 down
ifconfig blahblah0 hw ether 00:11:A2:B3:C4:5D
ifconfig blahblah0 up
This works on a regular linux machine. I'm not sure if it works on a android. if it doesn't, a reboot reverts the changes.

[Q] Has anyone succeeded in changing MAC address?

Hi,
I'm trying to change the MAC address of G PAD. I have tried various application like MACMAN or MAC address ghost after rooting the tablet. But I am still not successful. Those apps did change MAC address but, after changing, the tablet couldn't connect WIFI AP which previously worked OK.
I guess some more change is required for this tablet other than ifconfg thing, but it is wild guess.
Is there anyone who successfully changed MAC address?
Haven't tried it on the Gpad, but you could try pry-fi maybe.

I installed it but it doesn't have feature of setting MAC address I choose.
Thanks for the tip anyway and I'll monitor future upgrade of pry-fy.
