Ussd blocker will block the annoying USSD balance update popups that come up on your phone, each time you make a call or change data connectivity. This app is like a silent inbox for all your USSD popup messages.
Two main reasons to use this app:
- No usage popups especially when you don't have the time to read them, e.g after ending a call or unlocking your phone.
- USSD messages are lost once you dismiss them. So, if you are on a prepaid connection and want to know when and how you lost your balance, you can get it from your history of usage update messages in this app.
Installation:
- If you are rooted, install Xposed framework from here http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk and reboot your device.
- After installing the app, enable the Ussd Blocker Xposed module and reboot

droid bionic (targa) i have tried hitting report but it apparently oes nothing (or it does it without any notice but popup stays after hitting report)
maybe some files missing from aokp, will try with CM kk(i think it should work or is it only for 4.2-4.3?)

I am on kitkat 4.4.2, it should work on any AOSP 4.1+ ROM.
This app solves the same problem as described in this XDA post.

But there seems to be a problem as when I installed this module on my "SONY Xperia U with a stock based ROM" the module just force closes. The UI does not opens up.Kindly look into the matter and try to resolve it for me.
Also I would like to request a feature, an option to select which USSD messages to block. For example most people don't mind the after call notification.

Tried the updated version too. The force close issue has been removed. But on 4.1 and lower devices none of the USSD messages are being blocked. I am still getting after call and net change message. Please try to resolve.

First and foremost, the script used to create this is from jt1134. My complete boredom wanted an updated MIUI build that will stay updated. This is my only android device worth a damn so I am just bored with it. Without his script I wouldn't have been able to do this. So many thanks to him.

I will look at it. I just installed the wrong theme so I have to hard reset..
Can't seem to get the Control Panel App to apply the settings.
Two more things I noticed, the trash can menu that up when deleting an icon doesn't stretch to the end of the screen, as well as the sound recorder app.

Yeah I saw those 2 and the settings app doesn't work. I will look into just removing it all together or getting the app to work.
Themes are working now, server was just really slow.

Yeah I was trying to see if I could break it and it seems to be working for me. But I found some other tiny issues if you look at the original post
The lockscreen also is not centered in some themes, making it unable to unlock the screen. I had to reflash once.
Guys if you want to fix off centered Widgets you have to set dpi to 300

Yeah thats something I can do nothing about. Check out the miui theme thread in the themes and apps forum. It has to do with the theme not ported for tablets.

Yeah but in my opinion it makes everything look like crap. But just my opinion. I am looking to mod the launcher to have more columns too.

That is definitely an Internet Explorer issue unrelated to the site. There are two possible causes. The first is that you are behind a firewall that is blocking the site. The second and most likely cause is Internet Explorer has forgotten how to access the internet (no joke).
I've been working in the computer field for many years and have seen this numerous times. You can have a computer that has IE and any other browser. IE will fail to open sites and complain about not having an internet connection or the page doesn't exist. Any other browser run on the same computer has no issue surfing the internet and accessing the same sites that IE said didn't exist. I suggest trying another browser. (This would also explain why you can see the screencaps)
With regards to providing direct links to the ROM, there is a reason why I do not do that. In addition to my own development work I also host/maintain the archive of all the factory software for the Photon as well as other hard to find software tools. Seeing that donations have stopped completely in this economy the ads on my site are the only way to help pay for hosting costs, even if it's only a very small portion. I hope you understand.

WiFi is working fine here in the states. If you did a backup before flashing, extract system.rfs.tar from the backup and post a copy of your build.prop so I can take a look at it. I think I know what the issues may be, just want to make sure.

There's still some theming elements that need to be finished as well as some bug fixes (just found that video players don't release memory or exit properly). I hopefully will have it done in the next couple days.

Try the stock KPI firmware first and see if you have the same issue. If you have issues with the stock KPI firmware let us know. Then try my release and see if the issues are there as well. Wifi or BT not working in one specific region of the world is hard to troubleshoot.
To other users:
The ROM has had over 200 downloads with close to no feedback. Without feedback it makes it difficult to fix and/or improve. Feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks

Reverting back to the default theme will reduce performance and almost double the size of touchwiz as well as remove the transition animations. When I get a chance I'll upload the stock files.

A new way for end users to break apps...a developers nightmare come true. While I like the idea of this it is too easy for users to switch off permissions, forget they did it, app appears broken and the developer must waste time supporting a non-issue.
This is aimed at the functionality Google has added to 4.3 not the OP's shortcut app.

If used properly this is an awesome addition, the problem is what I stated above will indeed happen.
Example being a wallpaper app (we will call it wall-e) shouldn't be able to read contacts if it can't set contact images, in this example disabling this ability is warrented. But perhaps you didn't know this particular wallpaper app can set contact images, you disable this permisssion. Weeks later your changing John Doe's image to find wall-e in the list with gallery, you think cool I can use wall-e to change John's image so you select wall-e and bam...force close. You think the app is broken, send bug report, the developer reads the crashlog and tries for hours to find out why on this particular device setting a contact image causes a crash.
This is a general example, it gets worse as most users have no idea what permissions are really necessary for Android applications basic functionality.
Then it gets much worse, this is one user...imagine all the millions of users using hundreds of thousands of apps once 4.3 is mainstream like 4.2.
Please try this "App ops launcher", it is only 7kb, scan this and install on your device to have a try.

Nope... Stock 4.3 ROM, Franco Kernel r183, had Light Manager installed before your app, but I uninstalled it and rebooted just to make sure nothing interfered. Any more ideas? Pulse notification light under Settings is ticked, of course. And yes, I'm turning off the screen hehehe

It requires Android 4.3! It should be compatible after samsung releases an update or you install something yourself.

On another note, the app is still unreliable on stock ROMs, I made some progress towards fixing this but I have some exams at the moment and I don't have much time to work on this. I hope it works fine for the rest of you in the meanwhile.

It's a very good application ! I prefer this app to LightFlow (much complicated)
im a heavy user of lightflow... but it uses toomuch battery and ram in my opinion.

Yeah I'm having the same issues. Test function works and shows the notification light working but when I get a notification, nothing appears.
Running Cataclysm 4.3 ROM with Franco.Kernel R184

There's a piece of news for all of you ART converters who are waiting for a Whatsapp update (WA currently crashes on ART runtime).

Bad news...
So, according to the devs of whatsapp, ART doesn't support their app... Do they understand what a runtime environment means? I'm guessing someone is laughing hard at the Google offices with the bug they've "reported".

Seriously I don't get why people like Whatsapp.
There are many alternative out there such as Viber or Line which provides better interface and actually adhere to Google guidelines.

I read somewhere that an old version works and the new one doesn't because of the included libs.. I don't use whatapp, but couldn't someone just grab the latest APK, open it in 7zip and remove the libs?

me too, I've to use it just because all my friends are using it. I wish everyone could use hangouts (never had a crash here), but unfortunately the iOS version is kinda slow (on iphone4 at least).
it looks like WA team is really lazy, look at the iOS version! iOS7 was released to developers months ago and still, it has the iOS6 interface lol.
I'm afraid the same is gonna happens here for the Dalvik/ART switch.

I just tried, doesn't work
I think is not a lib problem:
Version 2.10.768(no libs in apk) installs fine but not work, "software too old error"
Version 2.11.12(no libs in apk) error during installation
Version 2.11.93 libs in apk and error during installation
So, we can try to solve "software too old error", a star point can be this class: "com\whatsapp\g.smali"
or we can try to solve the installation error on version 2.11.12, now i'm on dalvik, there is anyone on art can post logcat of installation of 2.11.12?

I'll reiterate that this is not the fault of the WhatsApp application. The ART verifier was blocking the installation of this app, but we are going to fix ART to address this issue. I'll update this bug when the fix is in AOSP.

I'm getting install failed on for the 2.10.768 APK in ART
WhatsApp 2.11.135 is out, you may want to give it a try..
Good news, I manage to get version 2.11.42 running under art. The trick is however, you need to first switch back to dalvik, install it, then switch back to art again.
Go give it a try. Works for me.
One catch, the attach photo from gallery not working, but still can share from gallery to whatsapp, just not from whstsapp to pick from gallery. I can live with that.
The latest version I got running is 2.11.50
