Jump! Question - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

So with the 6 month wait almost over I have a question about this program.
I currently have the Note 2 and really want to try the Moto X Dev edition. Well, as we know it isn't available from T-mobile, so can I turn in my note 2 and just use the moto x or do I have to get a new phone for the Jump! program to work? Thanks!

they'll only take it as a trade it in if you are purchasing another phone through them. If you trade in your phone the remainder of what you owe is erased and In effect you would be starting over with a new EIP with the new device that you are purchasing from them

[Q] Best Verizon option for Nexus lover

I have a GSM G-Nex and love it, as well as my $30 T-Mobile plan. Unfortunately for some weird family plan related reasons I may grudgingly go Verizon. The only phone I have had my eye on as of late is the Nexus 4, but that is not an option. What is a good alternative? I like big screens, and up to date software, and I usually flash custom ROMs from this wonderful site anyway. (only running stock right now because 4.2 is really nice, great on my battery).
Gnex, gs3, or wait a week and check out the new HTC coming out.

Droid DNA, GS3, & Note 2 seem cool. Verizon G-Nex could probably be had for very cheap though. I hope I can just adjust their family plan and not have to join. I went prepaid because I had to, but now I really really don't want to go back to contract/locked-phone land!
I like the Note 2, if the bootloader gets unlocked I think I will be jumping on that one.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see the Nexus 4 eventually hit VZW, but who knows.
Ended up putting off switching until my GNex died a violent death. The Moto X has been a worthy successor thus far, 3 days in.

I mean to ask the 2nd phone to have with the note 2.I already have the note 2 and i want to buy a 2nd phone along with my note 2.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Well, to be honest I don't see the necessity of having two Android phones especially when you hold the top Android phone already in your hands. Buy a cheap phone for calls/text if that is your case. Buy an iPhone 5 to get the best of both worlds. Lol. HTC J Butterfly is a competition for the Note 2. Droid Razr Maxx HD for the greatest mAh battery for a phone.
Motorola razr m would be a good choice if something more portable is on ur mind..

iPhone 4s then. Will be cheap by now. But still no jailbreak though. Waiting for one on my iPad 3
Lumia 800 is dirt cheap now on payg. I might have to get one for times it would be dangerous to carry the note 2 and give me somewhere to put my 2nd sim. If only we had proper Google voice in the UK.

Im personally thinking of getting a nexus 4. (if they ever become available ) i know my note 2 is the best in a lot of ways but i can never have just one phone for extended periods of time. I think the smaller size and stock Android is a great second phone, especially if you don't like rooting and romming.

I used my note II along with a HTC One X and thought it was a great companion phone. Only thing that bothered me was the standby time of the HoX being around 4 days with an hr of screen time.
I also use an htc one x and the note 2 together. Great combination because you get the bad ass screen of the one x and the functionality of the note 2. Plus i just wifi tether to my one x to save me having a second sin card

Along with Note 2 an iPhone 5 is the best option. I'm using both of them and I'm so happy.
Just don't get driven by fanboyism, buy what you like.

Galaxy Nexus now or wait one year?

I have the OG Droid RAZR with grandfathered unlimited data on Verizon. My next upgrade is in May 2014. A local retailer has the Verizon Gnex at only $430 (full price, new.) So I am asking Gnex owners whether you would spring for the Gnex now, if you were in my position, or wait one year to see what's available then. I like my OG RAZR, but the Gnex is appealing to me.

Wait. The gnex is a nice phone but it is a year and a half old.

Thanks the good advice. I'm going to wait to see what comes out.

You're better off waiting, the galaxy nexus is showing its age and is quite likely to lose its official support from Google soon.

You could go on craigslist and buy a used one in good condition for half the price of that. And u will be OK till may. 430 bucks for a phone that's that old is ridiculous if u ask me.

this phone is starting to show its age when you begin playing more modern games or if youre performing heavy multitasking
id say you should wait it out a bit

If I weren't stuck in a Verizon contract, or if Verizon offered this phone, I would definitely be interested in the Nexus 4.

Mm alright, To answer your question: don't buy the Galaxy Nexus. It's a great phone but it isn't worth 430 dollars - anymore.
430 is nuts. Buy one from here if you really want one.

Just picked one up for 150 on Craigslist. You can get S3's for under 300.

$430 for a Smart Phone is just unbelievable, I personally don't know what I'm going to do when I want to get a new phone ( I currently have a Galaxy Nexus with Unlimited Data). I guess I will be a couple generations behind and wait a good year and a half. I can justify buying a smartphone for $200 dollars. You can actually buy a new Galaxy Nexus on Ebay for $200.00 I would do that if you need a phone right now.
I appreciate everyone's advice. You have some very helpful people in this forum!

Since you like your current phone and not in a hurry; I'd say wait for the Nexus 5. It's unlikely to be revealed on tomorrow's I/O but should be released by November or something, and should come with Android 5, So it's worth the wait and I believe you could get an unlocked version from Google Play Store for less than what you are willing to pay at the moment.
like the person above said, I suggest you wait until the next nexus comes out in November. Plus, $430 for the galaxy nexus is outrageous and you could get it for $200 in craigslist or ebay.

Should I do this trade? Which one?

Someone wants to trade me a T-Mobile Note 2 new condition with $100 and someone else wants to trade me a White IPhone 5 and $70. Which one should I do?? I need the money that's why I'm doing one but I don't know which one I should do. Help me out with some serious opinions on which one please.

Definitely the Note 2. And that trade doesn't make sence. it should be more like Note 2 and 100 or iPhone 5 and 125.

I would also recommend the note 2 but make sure you put your sim in there first to make sure they havent filed an insurance claim.
I would also call tmobile to inform them that you are getting the phone frombthe registered account holder so that once you leave they dont call and claim it was lost or stolen.
This happens all the time especially with craigslist transactions.
Guy sells/trades phone, calls tmobile pays $175 for insurance, gets new phone, buyer gets stuck with a bad imei.
Just a heads up

What he said ^^ with the new installment plans if the guys doesnt pay off the phone you will be stuck in a worse situation than u are now. Get the imei and call tmo make sure its paid off
As far as note 2 vs iphone 5... you may want to consider size... I tried the note 2 and gave up after a few months is its definately a niche device... the size of the iphone is way more realistic, but if you're like me and must have android then get the note, if money is an issue im sure you wont have a problem getting an s3 plus 125

IPhone will continue to receive support from apple, like software updates. The screen may be small and iOS may seem dull but give it a shot. The iPhone plus 150 cash is a great deal. 4g lte won't work

Would you recommend this device

Hey guys I'm getting a new device in a few months. And my choice is weather the nexus 4 or the galaxy s4. So I'm wondering would you reccomend the s4 and if possible tell me some of the features you like about it. Even though I'll be building/flashing custom ROMs/kernel on what ever device I get I would still like to know some of the features you guys like so I can decide on which device to get

Tough to answer right now, in the next few months a few more new phones should be out. The Note 3, the nexus 5, the Moto X, maybe the LG G2, who knows what else...
Today? If your looking for the most powerful device in TMo's current lineup, price be damned, then the S4. If your on a budget, the Nexus 4 is just fine.
Note 3. I'll be getting it when it comes out and keeping my s4

Price doesn't matter much. Because my dad told me if I get good grade after my first trimester back at school he will buy me any phone I want.
