dirty sandisk 64gb Sd card volume on galaxy note 2 - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all..I am facing a weird problem of my sandisk 64gb class 10 card. Suddenly I cant copy anything on it. Its in exfat format. I have tried to format it using card reader but couldnt. Even I tried to format it by phone. But not working.
I can access it but cant delete anything or format.
Plz someone help as I have no warranty as purchased from other country.
Thanks in advance.

hi! try sending an email to sandisk. i faced the same issue before and when i sent them an email, they had me mail them the sd card and they sent me a new one. the only thing you need to pay for is the shipping in sending them your faulty card. they're going to shoulder the shipping in sending you a new one. haven't really found a way to resolve the issue, though, but i hope this helps.

as amPOGlko said... try returning it. There's a lot of sites saying the same thing... sandisk and samsung phones not working well together. Who knows?
If they don't send you a new one, then maybe you can try Samsung or Toshiba SDcard instead. Good luck!

I am in the exact same situation, contacted sandisk and they said that a small percentage of 64gb sdxc cards suffer from this issue. They also can change the faulty one but I lost my confidence in this brand, because forums are full of problems related to sandisk 64gb used in Note series.

32 gb sdhc card problem

So I decided to upgrade my cureent 8gb sd card for a 32gb one, I bought it from amazon (with all the ebay sd card fraud rumors I decided not to take any chances) and I had install it on my phone copied my 8gbs data unto the card and suddenly after disconnected after copying data for the second time, the phone does not want to read it. It only tells me sd card ready unmount on the notification bar I try to mount on the settings it but it doesn't work, I also tried formatting it but it won't do it either on the phone. Anyone please help I really have no idea why this happen, well I think because maybe because I didn't format the sd card prior installation?

Possibly a defect return it. Or u probably bought it off an individual seller from amazon. Are u talking about sd or microsd because i think micros go more than 50
Sent from my Arc using XDA premium App
i got mine from amazon for 54 USD. works fine. so, i'd day, yeah, return it if at all possible. its defective.
I only have 4 gigabyte SD card , no money to buy 32 gigabyte
Yup yu guys were right I contacted the seller and he gave me a full refund because he admitted he had receive a batch of defective micro sd cards smh, all I say to this is, do not buy things like memories on amazon or ebay, newegg is by far much more reliable. I went on the reviews on amazon for the defective product and saw users review it as bad for the same problem I was facing.
And Trust me I tried everything to get the card to work I tried the switch on the adapter and other alternatives like formatting programs ect, it has been a pain. To all of this I'm just glad I got my refund.

Yea it was too cheap to be true, I order one from newegg for 67 dollars with free 2 day shipping from shoprunner, it was more expensive but base on the product review which none were below 4 stars, the product seems legit and not counterfiet like my previous order from amazon, I also notice that the 32 gb sign on the card I purchased @ newegg was located on a different location than the counterfiet one.

As an experienced Sd user, I would like to point out that often the reader used with the pc to format/write data to the card is at fault. With the SDHC format, you need to have the appropiate SDHC reader, otherwise corruption will occur.

Well I tried with the sdformat 3.0 program for sdhc cards and it didn't work even when the switch was away from the lock side I even put tape so it doesn't slide and it didn't work it would tell me the card is disk write protected and the windows 7 formatter would tell me windows was unable to complete format.
And what reader do you recomend for micro sd card formatting? I have one coming tomorrow and don't want this to happen again or maybe it won't because this one hopefully won't be counterfiet

[Q] Question about SD card problem

I'm looking for some thoughts on a problem I encountered. Due to a problem with the camera, I got a refurbished phone under warranty. When I got it, I took the 8GB micro SD (not the original HTC, but a faster card from Transcend) from my old phone where it had worked flawlessly and installed it in my refurbished phone. Wouldn't mount. Put it back in the original phone; wouldn't mount. Computer wouldn't recognize it through multiple adapters/readers. Not erased or formatted, nothing would recognize it. I know crap happens sometimes. I had an old 2GB card that I installed and it worked with no problems.
I RMA'd the card back to Transcend (which is another story) who would not replace it due to a scuff mark on the edge of the card - physical damage!!!
Anyway, I ordered a new Adata card, 8GB class 10 and when it arrived, I transferred files to it on my computer (so it was working) and put it in the phone. Wouldn't mount. Put it back in the computer and no files could be seen. Ran scandisk, files reappeared. Installed back in the phone, wouldn't mount. Now it's fried, too. Computer won't recognize it anymore. Installed 2GB card back in phone and it mounts and works fine.
I've got a replacement phone coming again from TMobile - it's got to be the phone doing this. But I'm out 2 SD cards. I'll try a RMA on the Adata card to see if I can get a replacement, but I may buy another card in the meantime.
Does anybody have any thoughts on this problem? Why would the phone play nicely with the 2GB card but neither of the 8GB cards? I don't think I can do anything different, but at $15 a shot, I'm starting to hesitate buying a new card to put in the replacement phone when it gets here.
Thanks.
As a clarification, the original Transcend card was a class 6 card. The Adata was a class 10 and I read that some phones won't work with some class 10 cards...

as always, the best class to use with phones are class 4. their cheap and they work good
well, i was hesitant bout the whole "which classes will the g2 work with" situation.
i bought a pny 16gb class 10 and it works. so i dunno if its more of a this specific phone situation over an entire group of phones.

Bad SD card???

Something is fishy with our SD cards (both my wife and I), since they've somehow seemed to "go bad" about 2 weeks apart. We both have the S3 16GB and I bought two 32 GB SanDisk cards for our phones. Everything seemed fine until about 2 weeks ago when her card went out, then last night my card seems to have gone bad too. All the phone says is it's "safe to remove the card", can't access the card in any way. I currently can't find my adapter to test the micro card in my laptop, but I should at some point. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this with their SD cards?
I had a problem with my 64gb Sandisk card that went bad duing a rom flash. I have EASEUS Partition (can be downloaded free) installed on my PC and the partition on the SD card was missing. I reformated the partition using FAT32 and it has been fine now for over two weeks.
Just a note I now remove my SD card when I flash ROMs. I know it should be safe but it takes a few hours to rebuild 58gb.
This phone fried my 16gb card
What class sdhc is it?

My 64gb SanDisk errored too within the first week. Formatted and working since. Mine stopped working when I changed a battery (yes, the phone was off).

where did you buy the card? also what class is it?
I'm having the same problem with my 32gb sandisk class 4. it was working fine on my LTEVO but the moment I put it on in my GS3 the card went dead.
32GB Class 10 PNY formatted to FAT32 has been flawless for me...and I've used the same sd card in two previous devices (E4GT & Evo LTE)

Class 4 SanDisk and I bought them on Amazon. Wasn't a bulk type card without proper packaging either, it arrived in the mail packaged like what you would see in B&M's. In any case, I'm going to need to locate my adapter so I can attempt to format them.

If it is screwed like mine then the adapter will do nothing... my card is completely fried

I find it hard to believe that there is actually a "bad batch" of SD cards from SanDisk... I have a friend that also has an S3 (Verizon) that said his 32 GB card (not sure of the class) went bad as well. It would make more sense that the S3 is somehow making them bad or not recognizing them anymore. However, most of my assumptions may just be wishful thinking.
I had some problems that I think were more CM9/exFAT support related with a 64gb UHS-1 card. I used this to format it and it's been fine since

64gb sdcard replaced 2times but

Hello guys. . I have sandisk 64gb class10 card. As we all are aware of problem, it just lasted 3months then frequently unmount n bad card inserted n all those errors
As sandisk cards carry lifetime warranty, so I contacted customer care (im from India) and they happily replaced the card for free (just courier fee of rs.30). I have replaced the card 2 times but still those errors but less frequently this time. I have transferred the data to this latest card but from noon I have got errors 2 times. So, friends what do u suggest ? Should I get it replaced 3rd time or should I accept the fact that 64gb is total failure on note2. Please suggest..
Also is there any way to count how many times card was unmounted while screen is off?

micro sd stopped working. need advice

Hey guys. So I have a 64gb sandisk ultra micro sd and a note 2. Have had me card in my phone for over a year. Got it may 2013 and stopped working a couple days ago. Would not mount on my phone and kept saying it was empty. I inserted it into my computer and had to format it for it to connect. Thankfully I could recover my photos that were not backed up with free software.
Now the problem. Everyone knows that there are problems with sandisk and samsung phones. Should I carry on using my card or will the problem persist?
I live in the UK and they want me to send the card to take it back to place of purchase which is amazon, but I bought it over a year ago so would they replace it?? or send it to the Czech Republic at my own cost?!?!?
