check the Wifi advanced setting.
Turn off the always scanning. This always do the tricks.
Everytime you flash 4.3 rom, this checkbox will always default to "checked", try to manually unchecked it.
Sent from the corner of this rounded earth behind my PC.

Try do several restart your phone and observe if problem still occur. I experienced this problem too and you also notice after the update RAM usage is higher. Mine normalize after several restart. Hope this solve your problem but don't worry there are plenty ideas to be share to you..

Wifi scanning was already unchecked......hope the restarting trick works....thanks......

How about screenshots without the volume indicator? You can also try GSam Battery Monitor from the Play Store, to get a little more information on what is eating the battery.

Did you install any app after or before update? Main reason for all drain is from app.

What's your screen on time.
Looked kinda like liteflow might be causing problems?
Cell Standby i think is the one that is coded wrong and is lying, ignore that one.
If you press Android System in settings, battery it will show you the top components being used
Also in dev options look for and check Show CPU Usage. It will show whats using the cpu in the top right of your screen. Watch for what stays in the top few spots in the list.
There may have been something that didnt like the update. Try first uninstalling apps and if that helps reinstall them clean, no data restore. If you continue to have problems backup all data and factory reset. Start clean.
If all else fails use odin to flash the full LH2 fw.
LH2 should be a fairly stable build. Most have no issues and many get outstanding battery life. Im willing to bet its either an app or the way you updated or both.

That's really not THAT bad for a screen on time. I saw your screenshots in the OP, and you were down to 80% in only two hours of being on the battery, but you had the screen on for almost an hour of those two hours; 20%/hr for the first few hours is pretty normal. It's not stellar, but I wouldn't say it's an epic drain that being said, I'm sure you could squeeze some more juice out of it, and prob is just an app causing more drain than usual.
Also when doing a screenshot, it helps to hit the power button first, then the volume, so you don't get the volume pop up every time.

3:30 screen on time it's good no matter how you use your phone. I got 2.45 hours on screen with 1day and 6 hours. I've had issues with liteflow and battery as well. Others say they don't, it seems to depend on how you set the phone and liteflow to work.

Yes, use it now (Ulitmate) I have found nothing wrong personally. Mine's set for Data on with screen on, Data off screen off.. I don't have a schedule set or anything (i'm always off and on the phone anyway) does increase the battery life a bit.. Download, try it for a bit.. see what you think overall.
I did use it before, just the light version. it was indeed a battery extender. But now I am using ON(X).

Nope. IMO, battery saving apps like Juice defender burn more battery than they claim to save.

Juice defender WILL help. I get about 24hrs to a charge. It simply disables data/location/wifi when not in use and can be customized to run different ways for different apps
-SlimBean...the bulimic's choice for the Galaxy III
Hope this helps. It's fully customizable and it does wonders. U can train it to learn your wifi and after a while, never touch the toggle again. Use it for games so they don't go online and pick up those annoying ads (if your unrooted). And u can schedule when the net comes on to get emails and so forth when your not touching you phone.

Been using Ultimate from the beginning and if set up correctly is the difference between night and day for battery life. It works very well with no problems whatsoever on my end.
+1 When setup properly it can save a lot of juice. Or turn data off when not needed it will save a little more than using JD. But I rather have JD running so things are seamless. For Streaming audio like Spotify I find setting for enable/screen off works the best.

Be honest and tell people you have an extended battery.
i got a small issue with JD ultimate:
i set it quite correctly i think, but then, it prevents datas from coming to my phone, even when they're enabled.
let me explain better:
i set it so datas are off when screen is off and on when screen is on.
so i turn my phone on, datas take smth like 5 to 10 seconds to enable, everything normal till here, then the small H or G appear meaning i'm connected through 3G, but even then, i'm still offline... i wait, and wait 5 mins, but still, the H or G is visible on top right of my screen but.. no data.
i disable juice defender, restart my phone, didn't solve.
then i uninstall it completely, restard my phone, and everything works fine again...
anyone could help me on this one?

[Q] Sudden drop in Note II's battery life

I have a Note II that is around three months old. The battery would last around 1.5 days with normal usage.
Then, about a week ago, I noticed that it was not even lasting a day. Often 'media' uses more battery than the screen, which I have never seen before.
Last night, I fully charged it to 100%. I woke up 7 hours later and took the screenshot below - 49%! 51% used in 7 hours standby time. This cannot be right? Surely? I have noticed something going on with my SD card, where when I unlock the phone, it "prepares" the SD card. I had not seen this before.
Also, a strange phenomenon occurs where when I delete an app, it leaves a hole/gap in it's folder. (see screenshot 2). I cannot get rid of it. Any ideas?
Having the same problem. Mine used to get almost 2 days and after the latest OTA update "Media" seems to be using a ton of power. It seems to be related to scanning the media files. When I try to force stop the app, it just restarts itself. I thought maybe it was a bad SD card, so I tried a fresh one, but the problem is still there. Any ideas if this was introduced in the update and whether or not we can stop the process. I am not rooted on stock ROM.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using XDA Premium HD app
Download media scan root from play store. It will disable media scan and you can re enable it with just a click If you have new media files. But root is required for this app.
Alternatively if you do not have root. Try format the sd card. It might solve the problem a while but not sure why it comes back again. It s a known issue for jellybean

I have not, no. I am not rooted and personally do not want to be. It sounds like this is a fairly widespread issue. I will talk to Samsung and hopefully get a replacement or refund. No way that I paid $1000 for a phone that only lasts 12 hours.
Thanks for your help.

Are you also on 4.1.2 like bwallis?
Nope, still on 4.1.1.
Also, Google+ is now using a fair amount of battery too, usually around 10%. Strange when I don't actually use G+...
I tried a new freshly formatted SD card and today I am at 70% after about 12 hours. This is what I was getting before the upgrade. Will keep everyone posted if it happens again. Before the new card I also noticed the system was unmounting and remounting the card frequently. I am sure this is what was causing the rescans. It was only 2 months old so perhaps the card was bad.

Terrible battery in my note 2

Hey guys whats up namaste and I would like to share my aa.. Problem I have a Galaxy Note 2 2 GT-N7100 international model and I bought it just 8 months a ago and I had android 4.1.1 stock rom with touchwiz the battery was ok for me for daily use after an update to 4.2.2 my battery became terrible and my phone started heating. After a build number update I got heating problem fixed but I still had battery problem and I have no idea why. I have rooted my phone yesterday and installed cyanogenmod 10.1 because one of my friend told me that it has better battery backup on custom roms. But I still have battery problems even after installing greenify app and doing clean master.
Here is the page that I get in settings - battery
Flash a better kernel and then install an app called superpower from market.

I am also noob
Kernels provide communications between software and hardware ..when software need something from hardware then it send request to kernels
There are many kernels if you look at development section and you can flash them the same way as you flash custom ROM by going into recovery

Why Is there a big drop in battery in zero time on your PIC..... See under the r in battery.
Did you turn it off and then it still drains battery. This should not happen and sounds like a repair job-

I had same problem. Try this.
Turn Auto brightness off and put brightness lowest.
Turn off 3g data (temporarily)
Turn off GPS
And Finally put phone in Airplane Mode
Now.. Reboot Phone.
Do this at night and keep track of the percentage it used and for how long.
Then slowly put brightness to Auto and turnoff Airplane mode.
Try to keep track of percentage and time once more.
Finally once everything functioning well, turn the rest of the setting on!!
I had exact same problem as you did and this fixed it for me
I use 50% of my battery for at least 8 hours+.

there is something weird going on with the battery after updating to .283 . i tried to investigate this with the help of wakelock detector and apperars myxperia and update center are eating up lot of battery. froze them and so far so good.
Froze those as well and still massive battery drain. Checked the battery usage and it seems the OS is the culprit. Any suggestions?

Download BetterBatteryStats (there's a free version on XDA)
You can get a decent amount of information regarding wakelocks, partial wakelocks, alarms, etc..
There's also the possibility that your battery could by dying, if you want to know for sure either use something like BBS or reflash/reset to factory.
