Download the MK2 Modem.bin if you don't already have it.
Here is the direct download link for it: http://www.mediafire.com/download/1g...l89x/modem.bin
Here are the exact step by step instructions for doing that, doing it this way worked fine for me.
Before flashing anything be sure to make a nandroid backup of your rom.
You can Odin flash the MK2 modem while on the 4.2.2 rom or flash it
after flashing Wicked v9.1 MK2 rom the procedure is exactly the same.
Before starting, unplug the usb cable from your phone if it's plugged in
and remove the battery from the phone for 30 seconds then replace.
#1: Power up the phone.
#2: Start ODIN and put the MODEM.BIN file into ODIN'S PHONE slot/tab.
#3: Un-Check the "Auto-Reboot" check box in ODIN.
#4: Put the phone into download mode
#5: Plug the USB cable into the phone and into the computer.
#6: Make sure that ODIN'S [COM:xx] lights up and click START..
#7: After Odin is done flashing unplug the usb cable.
#8: Manually power off the phone by using the power button only.
#9: Wait 20 seconds or so and power on the phone.
After flashing is done the baseband of the phone should display MK2 in
Settings>More>About Device> Baseband version.
Good luck with it!

Thanks again I'll try that way

After Odin says passed, leave it plugged in for another 30 seconds. Then manually power off the phone. Unplug it, put it in download mode again, replug it, and flash again. Then reboot. It will stick.

Yeah, it can take a while if it is your first time flashing a modem. Glad you have it working, enjoy your ROM!

just so I don't have to create a new thread and my question is somewhat related.
If I move up to 4.3 with root (not bootloader) and decide I want to come back to 4.2, will I have to flash the 4.2 (mdl) LTE modem or can the 4.3 (mk2) LTE modem work fine?

You need to be very specific about the problem you are experiencing.
Exactly what model is your phone, Tmobile T999 or AT&T I747 ?
Also do you want to flash the stock rom for your phone or do you
want to flash the stock-rooted rom?
The Verizon rom did not just happen to appear in your phone, you or someone
else must have flashed it for reasons which are beyond my comprehension.
Good luck!

If you want a stock rom click here: UVDLJA this is the un-rooted T999 Galaxy S3 4.1.1 Jellybean firmware.
This is the same rom which came with your T999 Galaxy S3 it needs to be flashed using ODIN.
You need to unzip the file in order to get the TAR file inside before flashing.
After flashing it might take up to 5-10 minutes to fully boot.
Good luck!

No, if you odin flash any rom it will over write the modem.
If your phone is a T999 (not t999v) then do this and the phone will work properly:
This will over write your modem with the proper one for a T999 phone and this will
flash the stock rooted T999 4.1.2 Jellybean rom.
Follow the instructions below.
Here is the step by step guide:
After you have followed these instructions your phone will have the new T999 4.1.2 jellybean pre-rooted firmware.
Download the stock-rooted Odin flash T999_UVDMD5 Samsung Galaxy S3 Jellybean v4.1.2 firmware.
After downloading make a folder on your computer's desktop and unzip the
file using Winzip or 7zip so the .TAR file is in the new folder you just made.
Download and extract Odin into the same folder you made containing the TAR file
Here is the link for Odin: http://d-h.st/Q14
Download ODIN which is required for flashing the stock rooted firmware (a windows app)
Download the Odin Flash firmware for T999 Tmobile then copy it to the same folder as Odin
Run Odin by double clicking the Odin.exe within the same folder as the TAR file you extracted
Turn off your phone and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE (Volume Down + Home + Power Hold until phone powers up, then release and press Volume Up to enter Download Mode)
Once in Download Mode, connect the USB/Charger cable to the phone and plug into the USB port on your computer.
You should now see a COM** port listed toward the top-left of Odin (under ID:COM)
Click on the PDA button in the middle-right area of Odin.
Browse to and select the Firmware you downloaded (TAR file)
Make sure Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options checked and that PDA is the only other thing checked.
TRIPLE CHECK your settings and that you have selected the correct firmware for your model phone and are using the correct options.
If you are using a laptop, make absolutely sure you are plugged in, or if on battery, that it is charged enough and will not go into sleep mode during flash.
Click Start to begin the flash. This will take a while, so be patient!
Once complete, in the top-left box in Odin, it will say PASS and the phone should have automatically rebooted.
You may unplug the phone and close Odin if you wish.
Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the system to boot the first time and then build its cache!
(It may seem to hang during boot, this is normal and you must be patient!!!)
But the Chinese models usually come with write protection

[Q] No voice

To make a long story short I was in CM11 and when trying to restore to stock I tripped the Knox Counter. I no longer have voice or audio. I tried to restore to other custom roms with same issue. I tried downloading stock tmobiles images and am unable to restore with odin. Question after triggering the Knox does that not allow me to even restore a stock rom or is my issue some place else? Any help?
It's my understanding you can not Odin back to MDL but you should be able to Odin the MK2 firmware.

If you are sure that you tripped the knox counter this is how to fix the audio issue.
Download the official M919 STOCK 4.3 MK2 firmware/rom from http://SamMobile.com .
(filename: M919UVUEMK2_M919TMBEMK2_TMB.zip inside zip is the tar file)
Then Odin flash the tar in Odin's PDA slot.
After you odin flashed the 4.3 MK2 successfully see if the audio/sound/voice is good.
If it's not then download the latest KToonsez 12-12-2013 kernel and flash it using
cwm/twrp recovery. (after the phone is rooted)
Here is the direct download link for KToonsez kernel:
https://copy.com/kEWuwwaGj8j2/TW%20JB%204.3%20Versions/KT-SGS4-JB4.3- TW-TMO-12.12.2013.zip?download=1
Before you can cwm/twrp flash the kernel or any cwm/twrp flashable zip file you need to
be rooted.
Here is the direct download link for the odin flash CF-AUTOROOT:
http://download.chainfire.eu/328/CF...jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.zip?retrieve_file=1
It's always best in any case to flash the KToonsez kernel after flashing new roms.

I am having the same issue as the OP. But my understanding is, with Knox (which I unfortunately seem to have acquired, my fault) I cannot use Odin to flash a tar file.
You can still flash. You may trip the counter and you can't flash back to 4.2, but Odin still works.

At this point knox is already tripped, and that's okay. But to resolve my loss of sound and voice I would have to use Odin to flash a T-Mo 4.3 tar, such as the one above? This will flash everything, including modem, right?
Could i also Odin flash the full TMo 4.3 modem with the same results?

Here are the step by step instruction on how to get the MK2 modem.bin
baseband flashed successfully.
Here is the way to fix the audio issue you are having.
This will ONLY fix your audio issue if your baseband is MDL
so check your baseband by going to Settings>More>About device
and scroll down after clicking About device til you see baseband.
It will either have MK2 or MDL in it. If it's MDL then your
audio issue can be fixed by following the instructions below.
You can Odin flash MK2 while on an Wicked v9.1 4.2.2 rom or ODIN
flash it after flashing the Wicked v9.1 4.3 or other M919 based 4.3 roms.
Either way it makes no difference.
What does make a difference is to follow this step by step exactly to a "T".
#1: Manually power down the phone using the power button only
#2: Start ODIN and put the MODEM.BIN file into ODIN'S PHONE slot/tab.
#3: Put the phone into download mode by using the volume down and power button only.
#4: Plug the USB cable into the phone and into the computer.
#5: Make sure that ODIN'S [COM:xx] lights up.
#6: Un-Check the Auto-Reboot in ODIN and click START.
#7: After its done flashing unplug the usb cable.
#8: Manually power off the phone using the power button.
#9: Wait 20 or so seconds before you power on the phone.
After doing this the MK2 baseband should show up in About Device.
Here is the direct download link for the Tmobile 4.3 M919 MK2 modem.bin:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/1g...l89x/modem.bin
After your baseband displays MK2 you don't need to do anything,
the phone will then be ready to use with all it's bells and whistles.
I would highly suggest that you make a nandroid backup in TWRP recovery before you
change any settings, installing or flashing any apps, mods, themes or anything else.
Good luck!

Figured out the problem. So the MK2 Tar file I had was the culprit. I redownloaded the file from a different source, re-extracted the Tar and used Odin to reflash the tar file. Funny, the first file did not have a MD5 mismatch and did flash a modem. Well, whatever the issue was, I am glad it was resolved. Thanks for all your help guys.

[Q] m919nuvuemk5 HELP!

Ok, I am not new to flashing but its not somthing I do on a regular basis...I got in a hurry and screwed up my phone.
I have been running cyanogenmod 10.2 and my wife has the same phone that I left stock. They are T-Mobile Galaxy S4 SGH-M919. Yesterday I poked around a bit and found the most up to date rom I could, it was m919nuvuemk5. What I failed to notice was that this rom is for Metro PCS which may be owned by t-mobile , but is definitly not t-mobile.... I flashed and it boots all the way to the Metro PCS splash screen and thats where it stops. SO...I started looking around a bit more and found the thread - [GUIDE][HOW-TO] Return device back to stock 'Official'!
at :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2336392
So the short version is that right now the rom I have flashed is m919nuvuamdb but my base band is still m919nuvuemk5 and my knox fuse is popped 0x1 The phone works fine but I have no wifi I did factory resets and wiped everything trying to get the wifi working but sofar no joy. I can root with CF-Auto-Root via ODIN with no problem. :good: I can apply custom recoveries like CWM with no problem. :good:
So all is not lost.
My questions are:
1. It is my understanding that at this time there is no way to remove the Knox 0x1 that says my phone is trash for corporate use. :cyclops: Is this true?
2. My boot times are very long, (2m 10s) it seems to hang on the "Samsung Galaxy S4" screen where it says " kernel is not seandroid enforcing set warrenty bit: kernel" Is there a way to make the warning go away? How about a shorter boot time? I think if t-mobile comes out with a m919nuvuemk5 rom I should be ok and the warnings will go away atleast. Is this right?
3. How do I make my wifi work?
I could really use some help with this, I have been reading allover these boards for a day. Please save your chastising for your children, know I screwed up. Just lead me in the right direction.
Try flashing the mk2 modem.
If that don't work you might have to Odin flashed the whole 4.3 firmware.

Why not try this easy to follow step by step instructions. This is how I done it myself.
#1: Manually power down the phone by using the power button only.
#2: Start ODIN and put the MODEM.BIN file into ODIN'S PHONE slot.
#3: Put the phone into download mode by using the volume down and power button only.

#7: After its done flashing unplug the usb cable.
#8: Manually power off the phone using the power button.
#9: Wait 20 or so seconds before you power on the phone.
After doing this the MK2 baseband should show up in About Device.
Once you have done this successfully you will no longer have
audio or wifi issues.

Also if you have never Odin flashed the new full stock
4.3 MK2 Galaxy S4 TW Jellybean firmware/rom then
you don't have knox and you don't need to worry about
it unless you odin flashed the full firmware/rom.
You cannot get KNOX by simply odin flashing the MK2 MODEM.BIN file.

Hi, I did manage to get it straightened out.
1. Rooted the Phone with CF-Auto-Root via ODIN Thanks to Chainfire :good: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294005

3. Flashed the 4.3 MK2 modems (plural) from http://www.mediafire.com/download/1gsjokadys4l89x/modem.bin from the link Misterjunky :good: provided.
4. Flashed this ROM- Build Date: 16.11.2013 -> Region: TMB (USA (T-Mobile)) PDA: M919UVUEMK2 Changelist: 2015522 Android: 4.3
From this page : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2267895 Thanks to AdamLange :good:
It is possible that I did not need to flash the modems as when I flashed the rom it loaded a modem.bin file. But I figured better safe than sorry. This is a rom from samsung as far as I can tell, It took much longer to flash than all the others I flashed. It got rid of the "Kernel is not seandroid enforcing " message I had at the boot loader too. Everything works good so far! I may try to root again later.
Thanks too all for all your help!

Yes if you use Odin to flash the full firmware it will also flash the modem. If you flash ROM via custom recovery it will not change modem.

[Q] Questions updating modem

Hey guys. Have flashed many of a rom before on many phones i have owned. When it comes to the radio i know there are chances of this going VERY wrong. My question is which modem should i be using?
Phone = T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4 (SGH-M919)
Rom = Wicked V9.1 (which i believe wants a MK2)
Baseband version = M919UVUAMDL
Android Version 4.3
If there are any other details i left out please ask and i will reply asap. Why i am wanting to update to the newer baseband is once flashing to 4.3 i have gotten TERRIBLE signal within my home (before it was perfect). After every call i make, once ended it will drop the cell signal and shortly after pick it back up. Mainly the reason i want to update is to get signal back in my home. For the most part i have zero signal in the most common areas i am in. Thanks again!

It should fix it...it's working 4.4.2 for me with MK2 modem.
I try and flash the modem.bin file but my baseband never changes. Can someone give me dumb user steps?

NOTICE: If you are running/using any AOSP/AOKP/CM/GE/KitKat or any PORTED roms
or if your phone is NOT an M919 Tmobile then the following does NOT apply to you.!!!
Have you tried this:
You can Odin flash the MK2 modem.bin while on any Jellybean Touchwiz 4.2.2 based rom
or ODIN flash it after flashing the Infamous v9, Wicked v9.1, or any M919 MK2 JB based
Touchwiz 4.3 roms. Either way it makes no difference.
What does make a difference is to follow this step by step exactly.
#1: Manually power down the phone by using the power button only.
#2: Start ODIN and put the MODEM.BIN file into ODIN'S PHONE slot.
#3: Put the phone into download mode using the volume down and power button.
#4: Plug the USB cable into the phone and into the computer.
#5: Make sure that ODIN'S [COM:xx] lights up.
#6: Un-Check the Auto-Reboot in ODIN and click START.
#7: After its done flashing unplug the usb cable.
#8: Manually power off the phone by using the power button only.
#9: Wait 20 or so seconds before you power on the phone.
After doing this the MK2 baseband should show up in About Device.
Once it displays MK2 you can flash any MK2 JB TW 4.3 custom cwm/twrp
zip file roms unless you have already flashed it before flashing the modem.bin
in which case you are done and ready to use the phone.
Here is the direct download link for the Tmobile 4.3 M919 MK2 modem.bin:

Good luck!
I got it to work. I must of had a MDL modem before not the MK2. I am running a kk ROM and it worked just fine by taking the modem.bin from the rar file.
Thanks everyone.

I tried flashing that on Wicked v9.1, but I'm still getting the MDL modem in the "about" area. I'll try following your guide again. :cyclops:
Edit: It worked! Thanks <3

[Q] S4 signal issues after upgrade

I have a stock S4 and had no problems in 4.2.2 but when I upgraded to 4.3, my texts don't send and I seem to lose signal. Like the bars show up and everything but they just fail to send and I don't receive any phone calls either. I was wondering if anyone had a solution to this and I already factory reset my phone and upgraded again, but it really didn't seem to work and I got a new sim card as well.
I'd Odin to stock.

How did you do the upgrade, OTA, Kies or did you simply use cwm/twrp to flash a zip file custom rom?
If all you did was flash a cwm/twrp 4.3 zip file custom rom then follow these step by step instructions
below to fix your signal/data & reception issues by flashing the 4.3 MK2 stock modem.bin file in Odin.
Please NOTE: the following procedure is NOT valid for AOSP/AOKP/KitKat/CM roms.
The following instructions are exclusively for those people who are using the
Tmobile M919 stock based Jellybean 4.2.2 or 4.3 Touchwiz custom roms.
Follow the easy step by step instructions to a "T".

#6: Un-Check the Auto-Reboot in ODIN and click START.
#7: After its done flashing unplug the usb cable.
#8: Manually power off the phone by using the power button only.
#9: Wait 30 seconds or so before powering up the phone using power button only.
After doing this the MK2 baseband should show up in About Device.
Once it displays MK2 you can flash any MK2 JB TW 4.3 custom cwm/twrp zip file roms unless you have
already flashed it before flashing the modem.bin in which case you're done & ready to use the phone.
