[Q] Wipe surface rt but don't have bit locker code - Windows RT General

Hello
Took a gamble bought a admin locked surface rt
I tried to wipe it as new., but am being asked for bit locker code is there anyway around this.?
Sorry if this is in the wrong section

The Surface forum would have been fine too, but this works.
You can try booting to the built-in recovery mode. However, it's possible that the recovery partition was removed to free up space. No worries, though! All you need is a bootable flashdrive with a recovery image. The files needed are available on this site (check the Surface sub-forum). After you've created the recovery flashdrive, turn the tablet fully off, insert the drive, hold the Volume Down button (well, rocker), and turn the tablet on again. It should boot directly to recovery. The recovery process should reformat the internal storage, which will remove the BitLocker'd volume.

Thank you very much will do!

ok I downloaded the recovery disk rt 8.0 file
I ran it and extracted to a folder
formatted my sd card
copied the files
turned off my surface
held volume down and tapped power button
but would not boot into the proper mode
did I do something wrong?
just booted to regular log in screen.

Can't get past HTC Start up screen.

Hi,
I had DJ Droid installed on my desire and I was trying to unroot it and put a stock 2.1 rom on so I could put Froyo OTA once it was released but I didn't get very far!
I formatted my spare card sd card and wanted to make a new gold card as out of the two I used I wasn't sure which was the gold card.
Whenever I turn on my phone it hangs on the HTC start up screen.
I can hold power and volume down and get into HBOOT, go to recovery, volume up and get to Android system recovery <2e>
Apply update.zip and it says No Such File even though I put it on but I may of wiped the partition during all this which has removed this file.
When I try to mount the micro sd using an adapter and look at the files on it it says 'You need to format the disk in drive G:before you can use it.
This happens for both cards. I try to format them but they both fail
Anybody ideas apart from leave things how they are in future!
Cheers
hmm, try to use the windows drive manager to fully remove the partition on the sd card. then create a new partition, reformat and! be sure to select the PHYSICAL DRIVE (without a letter) when editing the sd-card and making the goldcard.
it looks like you edited the volume header and the partition table is corrupted too.
if this is not helping maybe the sdcard is broken indeed, but I seriously doubt two sdcards failing at the same time
greets,
messy
Managed to format the card and put the update and djdroid files on the card and start again.
I must not be doing the wipe incorrectly at times, also the boot took a lot longer to load compared to when it was working fine so it might of been me thinking it had froze on the htc screen when in fact it was working, sorry!
All sorted now and I have put OpenDesire to see what that is like.
Thanks for the help.

[Q] HTC Desire SD Brick? Can't BOOTLOAD, help!

Hi everyone,
I've had a bit of a search on here, and although I can find threads about SD bricking, I can't quite find one that matches my situation.
I tried to root my phone and flash my first ROM today, I thought it'd gone ok, partitioned using GParted and flashed the GingerBurst ROM, and seemed to start up again ok. I was going to add something to my SD cards though, and found my USB connection menu didn't included the usual use as disk option and the SD card is now inaccessible from both my computer and the phone.
Under Settings->SD & Phone Storage, both Total and Available Space fields are 'Unavailable' and Mount SD Card and Erase SD Card are greyed out.
I've tried getting the bootloader up to see if I can do anything by holding down the volume down button and the power button (phone doesn't even turn on and screen remains blank), so I think my phone no longer sees that as a recognised option. I've tried back+power and up vol+power (for fastboot), and I get nothing. All my phone will do is power on if I hit the power button, so now I really have no idea of how to get the SD card back up and functioning.
I haven't tried repartitioning it because if my computer can't see it, and neither can my phone, GParted surely won't... I also don't have a card reader.
Is there anything I can do? Is there another way to get the bootloader up? Did the key combination change with gingerbread? Maybe I went wrong somewhere during my rooting... I don't know. Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks,
Daisy
You need to either get a new spare card, Format in FAT32 then add a 1gb EXT3 partition, or get a card reader and reformat you old card again with FAT32 first then EXT3 second- if it doesnt work, bin it
Dont worry about losing applications you can download these again from market.
Ensure your card is properly formatted if using A2SD
Wipe your phone and caches
Install your ROM from the SD card
re install applications
Enjoy
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
You have to press and hold first volume down (for hboot) or back (for fastboot) and then the power button. It seems as if you doing it the other way around.
Otherwise, you can do it so: When running rom, use restart option from shutdown menu. Then press and hold back button.
After you successfully booted your phone into fastboot mode, set up adb / fastboot (for a guide see my sig), connect your phone to computer, open command line on computer and type
Code:
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
.
Now reboot into rom. Your desire should now recognize the sd card.
Hi, thanks for the info! I've tried all the instructions here: cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Howto:_Install_the_Android_SDK#Windows
I got to 14 - but no drivers were automatically installed, and at 16 what looked like a command prompt style window popped up for a split second and disappeared - no information that I could read on it in that moment anyway, I did try again but same thing, so I continued with the steps to check, and tried it again after step 28 with the same thing happening again.
When I try to boot in fastboot mode my phone looks as though it's just starting normally - should anything be different? I don't know what fastboot is meant to be like! I also tried the piece of code you included in your message there and brought up a window that said it was waiting for the device, but made no progress...
I am correct in thinking I should be entering these prompts by going Start-> and typing 'run' in the search field, and then entering the prompt there? If not then that might explain something!
Seems to be an usb brick. On xda you find a guide how to solve it.

[Q] Possibly bricked? Wildfire S Metro Marvelc

Ok so baisically my retard side came out last night and i accidently installed electricfire theme from rom manager, when my phone booted it was full of errors so i thought i would put my phone in recovery and reset/clear data etc. Didnt work ofcourse, so i booted into cw recovery to restore my nandroid backup, then notice i had version 5.0.2.8 and not .6 so whenever i try to restore my backup it will stop at certain points in the middle of the restore and reboot then enter boot loop, I can still get to hboot and recovery though. So then i was going to try and put the stock rom zip on my sd card to flash through recovery but my computer wont recognize my phone as a storage disk to put the zipped file on the sd card.. But my computer does recognize that my phone is plugged in when in hboot, but a prompt pops up asking to install driver software etc.... Posting a thread was the last thing i wanted to do but i couldn't seem to find the same problem on the fourms. Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

Take the sd card out of the phone. In a card reader, from your computer, copy the cwm 5.0.2.6 file ( www.redmondpie.com/how-to-install-f...overy-on-supported-android-devices-root-only/) the root of your sd card (it should be a PG76IMG.ZIP file). Put the card back in your phone. Take the battery out for about 5 seconds. Put the battery back. Hold the volume down button then press and release the power button. The phone will go on, let it do its thing, it's installing cwm. When it's done, take the battery out again, then take the sd card out. Put it in the pc's card reader and delete the PG76IMG.zip file. Make sure you do this, otherwise it won't work. Put the card back in the phone, also the battery. Now hold the volume down button and press and release the power button. It will look for the PG76IMG.zip file, but it won't find it. When it finishes doing its thing, press the volume down button to where it says recovery, then press the power button and you should now boot into recovery. From here, restore your backup, and you should be good to go. Let this be a lesson and make sure you research and understand what you are doing BEFORE doing it......
Thank you for the reply, ill have to get a card reader then.. haha thank you much appreciated.
I was finally able to get a card reader today.. Worked perfectly. thank you again, much appreciated.

Can you still access CWM recovery? If so, follow these steps:
First, make sure you got the ROM and the corresponding Gapps on the External SD card. If not, transfer them on your External SD Card somehow (via a card reader, for example). You're gonna need them later. If you already have a custom ROM that you like and it's on your external memory, then you can just skip this step and go forward.
After that, enter CWM and:
select "wipe data / factory reset"
go to "mounts & storage" and format /system. This is extremely important!
under the same menu, format /sdcard (be careful NOT to format /external_sd by mistake)
install the ROM (from the external sd)
install the corresponding Gapps for your ROM (from the external sd)
reboot your phone
Please, note that every step of this tutorial is mandatory!

I have tryed all.
The phone is in download mode but nothing on thescreen. Because all hidden system partitions such as boot partition is wiped by Swapper2.
It looks like a computer with corrupted bios.
QPST may be helpfull to solve this issue. It can reprogram these partitions with required xml files. But I dont know where to get these files. QPST comes with some xmls but I dont know which one to use.It also ask for boot image and phone image.

Device hangs on the Samsung galaxy s4 boot screen

So I flashed CM 11 via the new installer. Everything was a success but one problem. After I flashed it when I reboot it hangs on that screen for a quite of time? Is this normal? Then it successfully booted. Now most of the times when I select power off from the power menu then turn it back on manually, it stuck at that Samsung galaxy s4 screen forever. Unless I remove my external sandisk 8 GB SDcard it will boot up normally. What is going on? I followed everything on the installer and didn't even touch the phone or computer.

You need to format your external sdcard using FAT32 and you will no longer have this issue regardless
of which rom you might be flashing in the future.
Here is the direct download link for the fat32 formatter for windows.
http://download.cnet.com/MiniAide-F...815.html?spi=e1b6eca6ba2a9bfc9c74ffba47b88ad1
You will need to remove your external sdcard from the phone and plug it into it's adaptor or card reader
then copy all files/folders in it to an empty folder on your windows computer so you can have a backup
of all your files and folders.
Then format with fat32 and afterwards copy all files/folders you have backed up back onto the external
sdcard and put the microsd back into your phone.
Good luck!
Won't format thru recovery work for extra?
