1.) CM9 Stocked Apollo music player - i am using Music app
2.) CM9 Stocked Gallery - I am using quick pic app
3.) CM9 Stocked News and Weather
Shall i go ahead with un-install or does these have any dependency ?

yes, just delete these apks from /system/app with a root granted file explorer:
- apollo.apk - Apollo player
- gallerygoogle.apk - Gallery (do NOT delete gallery2.apk, thats the camera)
- geniewidget.apk - News and Weather widget (installs with gapps)
Yes you can install the app named Titanium Backup and backup/delete the stock apps and can restore them again in future if needed.

Apollo, Gallery and News&Weather can be simply disabled in the Apps settings. No need to uninstall/delete anything.

Hi, This is my first Thread on xda, so please be easy on me...
I found and tried this new Camera/Gallery for the Nexus 4 on the Epic4G
I can confirm that it's fully working with the latest CM10 Nightly Nov 1st.
The gallery feels and looks much faster and better than the older one
and the camera looks cooler and it's feels faster at taking pictures too.
Update: The new Photosynth shooting mode Doesn't work on our phone because it lacks gyroscope sensor [Thanks @nvertigo for pointing this out]
Flashable CWM
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...gallery-app-with-new-ui-editing-photo-sphere/
if flashing didn't work, you might need then to do it manually as in this post
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...220830-jelly-bean-4-2-camera.html#post2279243
*You need at minimum ~12.2 MB of empty space before flashing of the actual system rom!
I Uninstalled the stock launcher and replaced it with another launcher from the market to solve this problem.
*To force the new Camera to work with hardware button, you might need to disable/freeze the older gallery after selecting the new Camera/Gallery as a default app.
So again here are the steps for the easy way to install the new camera:-
1- Install Third party Launcher of Your Choice
2- Uninstall the stock launcher (Trebuchet)
3- Flash the New Camera with CWM or TWRP (camera42_patched_v2 CWM Flashable.zip)
4- Open Gallery and click on the Camera icon, and then you will have a choice to select your default gallery/camera (select com.google. Gallery)
5- (Optional) To force the new Camera to become the default one, go to settings/apps/all and select Gallery with the version 1.1.40000 and disable it or delete it, don't disable the new gallery that has the version of 1.1.40001.
6- That's It, Well Done!.
Does photosphere work in Nghtly 11-01? I am running 10-29 and it doesnt work.

ohh now how in THE craaap do we uuse photosphere? lol!
playstore and swypish google keyboard here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1964726
I flashed this in CWM on my Epic 4G running AOKP (ICS 4.0.4) Milestone 6, stock kernel and it didn't seem to work. The stock camera app would load instead. Then I remembered to re-flash the ZIP and this time I did the 3x Wipe Cache and 3x Wipe Dalvik.
I rebooted and hooray, both the gallery and new camera are working without any FC's so far. Plus, I deleted the APK for the stock camera app and the new one loads up just fine with the hardware camera button.
You guys really should check out the "time lapse" video recording feature. It's pretty slick!
This didn't work for me until i updated to 11/01 nightly CM10. I managed to get the app running but it FCs when i try photosphere. Any advice?

youre probably missing the photosphere lib in system/lib
from not enough space in the /system partition
Thanks, that solved the problem.
It's not FCing anymore but I'm getting the error that a lot of people seem to be getting in the android police link. photosphere is extremely slow almost completely immobile after the first shot is taken, properly moving to the blue dot is impossible, and going left and right is impossible. is photosphere working perfectly for you guys?

No, I have the same problem here too
According to reddit, this happens because our phones don't have a gyroscope. I guess this is a brick wall.

I had the same issue, but I got it to work by downloading both .zips, extracting both, then I deleted the live wallpapers and gallery2.apk in /system/app and copied over the files from the manual .zip to /system/lib then I copied the new gallery/camera from the flashable zip to /system/app, set permissions for all the files, rebooted and there it was.

I went a head to test the flashable camera again and wiped Data/Cache/Dalvik/System and flashed the latest nightly cm10 Nov 09 rom
The problem is Cm10 System partition is full, look at the first picture attached and you will notice Titanium backup reporting that system ROM has only 81.9 KB of Free space!. So if you tried to flash the new camera with CWM it will NOT be actually installed even though the cwm manager says the flashing was successful.
To solve this problem, you need to free 12.4 MB from your system partition. so if you install another launcher from the market like Go launcher or Lightning Launcher etc... and uninstall your stock launcher (Trebuchet) from your system rom you will have the required 12.4 mb for the new Camera flashing (like in the attached picture 2).
Gallery)
5- (Optional) To force the new Camera to become the default one, go to settings/apps/all and select Gallery with the version 1.1.40000 and disable it or delete it, don't disable the new camera that has the version of 1.1.40001.

HI guys ,
I rooted my note 2 to get some tweaks going but instead i ended up losing my default messaging app. What happened was that i tried to install cyanogen-mod messaging app which didn't work so i decided to uninstall it , when i did that it somehow took my default messaging app with it which i do not understand at all. My question is if there is a way i could get it back ? Google didn't help much.

Try my copy. I overwrite all my ROM's stock messaging app with this one, always works for me.

As you probably know, put in system/app with correct permissoins, install by clicking it through your root-enabled file manager.

The part where you said as you probably know is not quite true coz I installed the cyanogen mod messaging app through cyanogen mod install manager which is available at play store. The whole thing was a misunderstanding coz the messaging app doesnt really work on stock roms which I found out after the mess up. If you could write me the step by step to follow that'd be wonderful. Thnx for the reply pal
Regards
Appreciate the help but when i was trying to paste the other messaging apk file into the system/app folder it found the original messaging app there which i never thought to check , i know silly me.
Thnx tweeny and the rest

Hi, I'm currently using B708 repacked ROM with EMUI 3.0, the default camera app shows only half of the screen, rest is opaque with the shutter button. So I tried to get the stock huawei jellybean camera app by extracting it form the update.app. I made a Titanium backup and removed the current gallery app and installed the gallery2.apk from huawei jellybean 4.2.2 Now I got the stock jellybean camera but it doesn't have settings or options to change the resolution or white balance, etc. I don't see the settings menu in the camera app. Please help me get the app working normal. Thanks in advance!

Try restoring the backup you made and see if it works, if it doesn't than maybe we can upload a new .apk file from working rom.

Hi there, I tried restoring the backup and also tried downloading the apk from a working rom. The apk got installed and the camera is working. The problem is, the camera has only smart shoot, no HDR, Panorama, Beauty mode, and other settings are missing. I mean the options button is missing in the camera app. All I can do with this installed app is just click the shutter and take pictures, nothing else, no change of settings! That's what I want.
Maybe you need to reflash the system agan?
