[Q] Install apps to SD using CM 11 - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
On my 7105 rooted with CM11 nightlyI get to the point where the phone tells me that there is not enough room to install more apps (yes I'm an app hog....)
I tried various apps to be able to install apps or at least the data related to the app on the ext sd which is 32gigs but it never works...
is there a way to do this ?
Thanks

Apps fail to install

Ever since I upgraded my Desire to stock Froyo from Telus, some apps I've tried to install are failing. It just says that the installation was unsuccessful. I currently have 24mb of internal space, and 6.4gb of SD card space.
Any ideas why this is happening? It's really starting to bug me.
Ditto
Apologies for posting in the Desire thread, however my unrooted HTC Incredible with 2.2 is having the same issues. Apps will download and attempt to install, only to fail.

what apps are failing to install?
Any app really. I tried to upgrade trillian, and it was failing to work. I don't know why, but once I actually uninstalled what was already on my phone, it started working again. Same thing with Google Translate app.

are you using apps2sd? myabe your ext partition is full
My apps install to my phone by default, then I use App 2 SD to move it. I currently have 6gb of free external space.
Hmm ok. I notced that they fail to update already isntall apps if the App is on my SD card.
Any solutions to that?
I had this with LeeDrOiD, you will need root and S=Off, remove the smdl2tmp1.ascec in: /mnt/secure/asec/smdl2tmp1.asec.
As always, do a nandroid backup.

[Q] Titanium Backup: move to SD

I tried using Titanium Backup (TB) to move some of my apps to the internal SD, and even though it said it did it, it didn't. I tried it several times, and even rebooted afterwards, to no avail. Has anyone had success with TB? Running JL2 on a rooted and lagfixed I9000M.
instead of that try using manage applications.. each app has an option there to move to sd
You might need a special kernel. That kernel does not exist for sgs. Its more of a hack for HTC pre Froyo devices which doesn't have app2sd. Its old hack that isn't needed or supported on sgs

That doesn't work either: "Failed to move application. Not enough memory"
What up with that?
Again, running JL2 on a rooted and lagfixed I9000M.
I have the same issue.. I am using this for APPS that are NOT DESIGNED by the author to move to SD. By that I mean FROYO 2.2 doe not give the option but you can force them with TB and they run off the SD fine. all of a sudden it stopped working this past week. I thought it was the kernel I installed BUT I flashed back to the stock kernel that was working and that option does exactly what is described in the first post. Any ideas how to fix?

Funny thing is that I am getting the "Failed to move application. Not enough memory" error for applications for which you're supposed to be able to move without forcing them with TB.

[Q] Flashed 2nd ROM - Where's My All My Stuff

I rooted my Slide back in Nov and have been running Cyanogen Mod since then,
and installed lots of apps.
I just flashed a new ROM (3rd Sense) - this is first time I've changed ROMs midstream. Before flashing, I backed up with ROM BackUp Manager and Titanium Backup Pro and I copied my entire SD card to my laptop just in case.
ROM is running great and my Google apps related stuff switched over perfectly. I logged into Market and some apps that I've bought were downloaded, but not all. I'm missing a lot of apps, including Titanium Backup Pro.
How do I get this stuff back? Have read lots of threads and forums (included the entire 40 page thread for 3rd Sense) before posting, but just don't know what to do.
Thanks in advance!
Rephrase: How To Fit Old BackUp
Okay, so I did more reading and realized I needed to go in and manually install Titanium Backup and then I did a a Restore Uninstalled Apps & Data BUT there's not nearly enough room for everything now.
I used Apps2SD but by moving everything I was permitted to, I still don't have nearly enough room for everything now - Titanium Backup didn't even restore everything bc there was no space. Don't know if the ROM is just so much bigger... Not clear if the space being eaten up is on SD or internal - feels like it's internal.
Old ROM: Cyanogen Mod 7.0
New ROM 3rd Sense
Any thoughts or suggestions much appreciated.
Like 3rd Sense - big issue for me is Bluetooth works with 3rd Sense and not with Cyanogen which was otherwise just great.
Thanks.
if you have a fast sd card on your phone, you can enable data2ext and get you more room for apps. 3rd sense comes with data2ext installed, but only do this if you have a class 6 sd card or above.
Thanks - I read about that - I don't have a class 6, but might get one. I have 2 questions:
1) is Apps2SD same as Data2Ext? B/c I was using that but it still didn't help.
2) Seems like there just isn't enough room to do a full Batch restore from TiBU - but wondering if the way to go is to restore a few apps at a time, then move to SD.
Finally - since you know this phone and the above ROM - please weigh in if you have a fav ROM for Slide that will let me use Bluetooth properly.
Thanks again.

[Q] Backup apps and contacts

First of all I should say I am a noob when it comes to this phone and Anroid in general...
So here is my silly question(s):
Currently the T-mobile G2 is rooted but is still running the T-mobile stock ROM
I do have a Full ROM BACKUP
Now I want to try a few ROMs for the phone (mainly to get the latest fixes etc) but i do not want to loose:
- Contacts
- Gmail/Facebook
- Games
- Apps
1. Is there any software that will back all these up and store them on SD so i can move it to PC?
2. Will this work if i have "App2Sd" installed and have some apps running off the SD card?
2 words
Titanium Backup
3 more words
pay for it
if you buy the premium version it will save you TONS of time with its one click restore....

If you have your account set to sync you won't lose contacts or Gmail, Facebook you can just redownload (all your apps will actually redownload when you boot into a new ROM) but for games (I'm assuming you mean saved games) then you would need a backup system.
Like the poster above said, Titanium Backup handles things well just be sure to only restore apps and data as the system files often differ from ROM to ROM

Did you try the method given in the below link(that doesn't even require rooting or installing any apps!)?
http://karthikkn.wordpress.com/2013...card-on-your-android-phone-without-rooting-it
If you are rooted you try these 2 apps.
1. Link2SD from http://www.link2sd.info
It will let you move app apk to external sd card.
2. This http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35097315
It will let you move those 1gb data folders to external sd card.
Borh of these i expect uses some form of mount or ln command (google them if you want) under the hood. No special hack needed and you could DIY it if you fancy tying on the command prompt.
