Have tried that, it doesn't work. I downloaded the provided apk (as they removed the zip file) and got the apk tried installing it it says application not installed, also tried moving in root explorer to system/apps and changed permissions to rw--r--r and rebooted and doesn't work, can you help? thank you and please and thank you i appreciate it
also can you help me find a download to this rom and how do i get gapps for miui? the link is down not working thank yous

BEFORE DOING ANYTHING MAKE A BACKUP

This will help you remap the personalize shortcut on the DHD roms to either the browser, contacts, facebook, gallery, gtalk, gvoice, maps, market, or messaging. I have tested this on Evil D's DHD rom. DOESN'T WORK WITH GORILLAS ROM.
Disclamer anything you do is by your own choosing and you take responsibility for anything that may happen to your phone.
Before I post anything all credit goes to the1wingedangel I got all the files and information from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887208
All you have to do is rename Rosie_XXX.apk to Rosie.apk and with root explorer (or something similar) overwrite the Rosie.apk in the /system/app folder. I will upload the files on here for convenience, all the files are named after what the application that will replace the personalization icon; for screenshots go to the above link.
P.S mms is messaging.

These wont work on Gorrillas Roms. Was going to post the1wingedangels link in my thread to try and keep all this stuff together. These Rosies will only work for 1 rom on these forums and it is Evils 4GHD port.
You can get these mods in my post HERE along with the ones for Gr8Gorilla's Rom. And they are in zip format so its alot easier and works better than trying to use Root Explorer.
I tried Rosie_facebook, copied from SDcard root to system/ app. Reboot phone and it got stuck at the HTC quietly brilliant for 45 min. Had to boot into recovery and reflashed evil d HD 2.2
I haven't rebooted yet.let me check that out

Facebook worked for me all I did was rename it to Rosie.apk and paste in system/app make sure you have Facebook installed first of course.

According to my sig my phone is a glacier which it is, I am using evils DHD rom and it is working with said rom. It is not working with gorillas though I will edit the first post . I think the problem the previous poster had was he didn't rename the file.

I tried doing this on eVil's 4-HD rom, followed the instructions and rebooted and got stuck in the HTC splash screen. I wanted to try out this rom and this remapping would be sweet. Any help would be appreciated
Did you use my method where you renamed it and put it in system/app or did you go to the updated link?

Sorry, I didn't clarify - I'm using a Samsung base (Litening ROM) so Sammy apps should work fine

Try any odex version of sense rom. Full versions will do. Look in the development section. Many roms are there, download one and unzip your required files. Its a pain to upload around 70 mb with slow network like mine. I'd suggest wildchild sense. Direct Download

I know that there's a lot of rom,but all roms include boot.img,but our x8 doesn't have it !
Please upload all system files,please. I have very slow internet too and I must upload my ROM MV3 with 200mb (takes about 3hours).
Just 70mb??? I mean all system not just app folder!

extract the rom.zip from finance.resat links given, you will get all system apps

boot.img yes, system.img no. There are system app, lib, etc, font, media bla bla bla.... i dont remember

What is in boot.img? Will rom work without that?
Rom will not boot without that. But I thought you need only the system files. Download the rom from the direct download link. In that zip you will see a folder name system. And in that folder you'll see another folder named app. I know nothing about porting. So I don't know if you put these system apks in your mobile, it will work or not. I personally tried to put sense 3.5 system apks in sense 2.1. They never worked. I'll upload the sense 2.1 latest files. Wait a little as my upload rate is quite low.

Trust me HTC sense 2.1 is total bullsheet. U r operating system is way better. I am always using either non-sense versions or sense 3.5.
I know nothing about porting. I am not a dev. There are posts about them in many places. I havent read those yet. U can research on google code/xda/youtube/wiki etc.

Believe me 2.1 Sense is better then our Eclair 2.1!
My father has wildfire s and how good it's touch on it,ohhh. We have fake dual touch on x8,because sony corporation didn't make dual touch on x8!

as rezo said simply download HTC Stock RUU, run it on PC while it starts, goto explorer type %temp% on navigator, you will see a long folder name with this { } , inside in a sub folder you will find Rom.zip. Copy it and unzip it. You can get all the system files of a HTC Stock ROM, including system.img, boot.img and recovery.img.
If you are achieved the task with Sony Ericsson, pls post it back.

But this doesn't help me I hate .img files) . Our x8 has cache.img data.img system.img if we made backup. But if we create flashable zip to flash in recovery,there's no .img files. There is just system folder and meta-inf!

The first link is for the files needed for the extended settings to work.
The second link is for the extended settings app.
Flash the file from the first link and then install the apk from the second link.
If you can, install it as a system app (copy the apk into system/app and give it the necessary permissions).
Make a backup before flashing this because I don't remember exactly if it works or not.

Thanks_ but it'not work for me.
I flashed zip file via recovery then my status bar gone (not responding), and then I manually move Miuisetting.apk to /system/app and change permission to rw-r--r-- restart, but its same statusbar not responding, and miuisetting is not work.
sorry for my bad english.
That was the only file I could find on my disk regarding miui extended settings. I'm pretty sure I used that file on SCI Miui ROM from auser (2.4.13) and it worked ok.
Maybe someone else has a working version of miui extended settings and can share it with you.

[TWEAKS] Adrenaline Turbo Mode Script
This is for gingerbread 2.3. The link for it on XDA is gone but that's what it is. You can unzip it and have a look too.
It sounds CWM flashable so you can even go as far as looking in the updater script in meta.inf / android / Google and updater script. Open it with Notepad++ or equivalent.
Hit the thnx button if it helped.
The first part you could have googled but we all forget sometimes right.
