[Q] Developer Options Missing? - LG Optimus G (International)

Hi all, I've recently started flashing numerous custom ROMs on my Optimus G (E973) and have been mostly successful so far. Still, there some quirks that I needed help with.
One of them is this: on some custom roms that I tried flashing (e.g. houstonn's PA beta, some others I can't exactly recall), the developer options seemed to be missing in the settings. I have a couple of questions about this.
1. Is USB debugging automatically enabled for these roms by default?
2. How would I access developer options if they are missing?
I really hope you guys can help me with this; it's not a terrible urgent problem but I just want to learn more about these things and find a way to enable the options if possible. Thanks!

You can go to settings/about phone, then quickly tap the build number some times (I think 7) to enable development settings

Oh I see, thanks! That was a lot simpler than I would have imagined it to be.

USB File Transfer
Do developer options or USB debugging somehow affect file transfer between the phone and the computer? All of a sudden I'm getting an "either the phone has stopped responding or has been disconnected" error message and I can't copy files over to my phone, although I can manipulate files that were already in the phone's memory.

[Q] USB Settings seem to be gone

Today I got my JB update for HTC One X, but I also wanted to root it.
So I had to change my USB settings to charge only, however when i connected my device today my pc would only recognize it as a media player. When I want to slide down and change USB settings, it takes me to Wireless Hotspot and Tethering options. I've tried creating a shortcut to usb settings using Any Cut, but right when I do so it says Any Cut has shut down, I've also tried making a shortcut using Apex launcher, but there seem to be no more USB settings. I've also done a hard reset, but they just seem to be gone.
I've never had this problem before, so i'm wondering if the JB update had anything to do with it.
Help would be much appreciated!

Okay so how would I root my phone then, if I can only connect it as a media device?
Reboot into fastboot, flash CWM, flash new ROM (same as before)
You can still access sd card after connecting the phone to pc.
thank you guys, sorry for the slightly stupid questions, i'm now unlocking the bootloader.
Though i've been waiting over 30 minutes now for the email from HTCDev containing my Unlock_code.bin , is this normal or should i be worried? And if it really takes to long can I disconnect my phone while waiting for the email and use it regularly?
did you check spam folder? if you didnt get it ask for it again on htcdev.com . i got mine like in 10 seconds.

Windows can't find my Galaxy Nexus

Hi, I have recently gotten a new system and now I can't side-load anything to my phone. I could before. I'm running Windows 8. MoDaCo jr11 ROM if that matters. When I connect it I hear the system telling me I've connected something, but it isn't showing up in my folder explorer or anything.
Ok someone PMed me the proper fix, it's so simple but you'd never think of it! You just have to go to settings/developers(on your phone) and turn off USB Debugging. I know, we've always kept it on but in W864bt apparently you cannot.
First thing i always turn on after flashing a rom that it's not built by me is usb debugging. IMO, it should be on by default on all ROMs.

[Q] No USB Debugging Option - GS3i747 [4.4.2] Liqiuid Kitkatv3.0 NIGHTLY

I finished flashing Liquid Kitkat 3.0 NIGHTLY onto my GS3i747, and everything's working fine for the most part. But I wanted to connect my phone to my computer as MTP. PTP works, but with MTP, it doesn't show up on my computer. I went to go check if USB Debugging was checked on, but in fact there was no USB Debugging option at all.
I would post screenshots, but unfortunately not enough posts to do so.
Is this some incompatibility with the phone and the ROM? Or is it some other problem I can solve?
Go to settings, about phone, tap several times on build to enable developer options. It may also be located under security settings.

I should have been a little bit more informative, developer options are already enabled. Under debugging is Android debugging, and USB Debugging notify, but there's no actual USB debugging option.
Does this happen with other custom ROMs too?

Sorry for late reply. But no, this is the first ROM I've flashed onto the phone, so I don't know. If it seems like a compatibility issue, re-flashing a new ROM shouldn't be a problem.
It might just always be on by default

Well the problem here is that I still can't connect my GS3 to my computer as a media device. I can use it to import and export pictures, but I can't do other thing such as import files, or more importanly, put more files in so I can flash a different rom for example. The only thing I can get to work is pictures.

[Q] I cannot find USB Debugging.

I just rooted my Find 7 using from this thread
Although instead of following the small section at the bottom to root I just did it within the TWRP recovery section bit, it seems to have worked I have root access, (I'm a complete noob at rooting/flashing let me know if that was stupid!)
My question arises from when I loaded up Titanium backup it asked me to turn on usb debugging but try as I might I canno find it anywhere within the settings is this normal for the find 7?
Thanks!
It's a little tricky, you have to go into settings, about the phone and there you'll have to tap multiple on build number till the count down finishes now go a step back and choose more there you'll find the developer settings! You'll finally find the usb debugging inside the developer options.
Cheers

Wow thanks!
Hopefully anyone else searching will now see this!
Please note that this is the way to go about getting developer settings for all the Samsung phones too... As I don't own any other brands I'm not going to say its how you do all android devices.....
It's the same.

G3 DRIVER? ugh

I have done every iteration of this I can think of. I've searched but not found the exact answer. :-|
LG G3 with G3-D851-20B-LP-STOCK-ROOTED-DEBLOATED... works fine. No problems. Don't love the ROM and want to try more Vanilla Android experience.
I loaded Pacman. I like it. Smooth and fast. Problem is, it's not rooted as the stock ROM, which comes rooted.
I've tried Purple Dragon. I've tried one click.
If I plug the device to my workstation, I can view the contents. I can drag contents to the device.
If I set the phone to "Android Debugging" I get a yellow bang next to the device and the "ROOT tools" won't find my LGG3.
I've added this but it doesn't resolve the issue.
LGUnitedMobileDriver_S52MAN314AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.14.1
So, I can't get my phone rooted.
Workstation is Win7 x64. I built it, it's clean, solid and fast. No problems.
What other information could I have provided in this thread?
I'm pretty sure Pacman's rom is rooted. You might have to enable it in developer options. Cause I know some custom roms root needs to be enabled manually in developer mode.
My bad!
