Hi. I searched the forum's and couldn't find anything so here's my problem. I don't seem to be getting stereo output from my tablet.I have tried two headphones and downloaded a few stereo test from youtube and all they are all in mono . I've also been to the tablets settings and everything seems fine there. And before you ask, yes the plug is pushed in all the way. Thanks for any help.
what about stereo through the built-in speakers?
Same thing, mono sound through speakers as well.
Update: Stereo working now. I had to reset the tablet. Thanks for all your help.

Good to hear.
As I was poking around on my tablet, I noticed an accessibility setting that sets the audio to mono, and I thought of your thread.
Is your tablet the 10.1 2014 edition because i didn't see any setting like that on mine.

Yes, it's a new P605. It took me a long time to find it again, as it's in the accessibility settings, not the sound settings.
Settings -> Device -> Accessibility. (Then scroll down to see mono mode).
Yeah... Really easy to find
Lol, thanks dude. You get a thumbs up for that one. I can't believe I missed that in the settings. Obviously I wasn't looking hard enough but thanks again so if it ever happens again, (which shouldn't have happened at all) I'll know where to look.
I also have the same problem. I have the P605 version of tab. I've already ticked and unticked the mono/streo in accessibility but my output for built in speaker is still mono. Only the left speaker is functioning and the right isnt. For the headset, both produces sounds. I cant remember I installed something that have caused this.
Anyone who would like to answer my previous post?

I recently purchased a pair of Iogear wireless Bluetooth headphones to use with my Fuze. I went through the process of pairing them, and managed to get them to connect. But when I tried to use them with listening to music or making a call, they would not work.
Anyone else have a problem or a clue as to why they won't work?
The phone supports both A2DP and AVRCP.
Hope this is in the correct section.
I'm unsure on why it won't work. I have some Plantronics Pulsar 590A and they are top notch. I use it with my 8525 (Hermes) and the sound quality is great. Also, Plantronics does a great job on their warranty.
I have noticed that sometimes when I connect my bluetooth headphones, that if I had the media player already launched that it would not play through the bluetooth headphones but though the built in speaker still. Once I shut down the media player and launched again after bluetooth was enabled and headphones connected, it would work.
When you paired the headphones, did you make sure that in the bluetooth settings for your bluetooth headphones (under settings, connections, bluettooth find and tap on your headphones and check there) that wireless stereo and handsfree was checked.
Sometimes also, my device for some reason just chooses not to connect anymore to my headphones and I have to do a soft reset to get it to connect. Does not happen very often - once per month. I use my bluetooth headphones and the Motorola T505 in my car for streaming music wirelessly to my car stereo every day.

You know this happens with me with Core Player. I have to set up the A2DP before I start a movie or song in the program or else it won't work.
Instead of doing a soft reset I just turn bluetooth off and then back on. That usually solves the problem of the mystery disconnect.

Yeah, that was one of the first things I had done before even trying to use them. I checked the settings. But still to no avail. Even tried soft resetting.
It worked instantly with my Tilt though. But I bought them to use with the Fuze lol.

Yes I do this to for this particular problem. The soft reset required problem is something different - Not sure yet what causes it - I think that it is an app that I run every now and then that causes some kind of conflict even after it has been shut down. Still have to figure it out

Have you tried your new bluetooth headphones with different media players such as S2P or Mortplayer, TCPMP, Core Player, WM Player, HTC audio Manager should all support but perhaps what you are using does not. I don't have a Fuze so don't know how the built in audio manager media player works but have seen several posts with people having problems. Try another media player 3rd party such as S2P, Mortplayer, TCPMP (all free) or Core Player (not free)

Okay, I'll do that, but it doesn't even work with using them to make a call.
There's a built-in mic on them, so it should work with that as well. It says it's connected, but the lil headphone icon never shows up when I turn them on.
Are these the ones you have

It says your device must support Headset or Hands-Free Profile. try unchecking wireless stereo and only check one of these profiles and see if it works

Yeah, those are the ones I have.
And it does support both of those.
Maybe I'll do what addicus said and send them back.
I was really hoping these would work too! Darn.

After trying them again, when I tried to make a call, I heard it make a sound as if it was turning off, and still did not work properly.
I'll be returning these most likely.

Damn you shortay! Since I wrote in this thread my Plantronics have been tripping when I make a phone call and not syncing up. I figured it out. It's that new Yota dialer I put in the other day. Sometimes I can't use the bluetooth on a phone call unless the A2DP is hooked up. Weird.

Lol, sorry! I wonder if I hard reset my phone will it fix it.
I messed around with a new cab earlier today, and had to restore
my phone, and i think it's be tripping afterwards anyway. Last try before I sent them back...that's after the iogear support people reply to me. Appreciated all the help.
Okay, so the email I got from the support basically told me how to set up the bluetooth headphones. WOW... some help they are. Other than giving me a number to call if I needed "further assistance". I thought that's what I was asking for in the first place.
Anywho, after randomly deciding to hard reset my phone, I tried the headphones again, and wah lah...they work!
I guess some setting in my phone wasn't set right. Go figure. Anyway.. Thanks to those who helped.
I'll be keepings these.

Glad they are working now for you.
okay, so I may need you guy's advice. It seems as though they only work once and then i have to delete them from the phone, then discover them again. Could it be a defect in the particular headphones I have, or the model not working with my Fuze? Maybe I should RMA these anyway?
Maybe you should head on into the shop you purchased your Fuze and describe the problem to them. Perhaps they will allow you to connect various different bluetooth headphones (that they have at the shop) to your device to see if it is a problem with your device or with your headphones.

You have to look for this setting at your watch not at the phone.
Just got the Huawei 55020533 (not sure how else to identify it). I have Bluetooth turned on and set to Play Phone Audio on Watch. I've checked every volume setting to make sure it's at its loudest. I should say I'm hard of hearing, but I can hear the alarms and other sounds, so I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if I'm just SOL. Any help?
[SOLVED] I had an app on my phone called Auto Speaker that was interfering. Works great now.

In my experience, yes and no. I have to manually connect it to my car each time (select the H/U in BT settings). Once connected it's fine. I didn't have that issue on my G Watch R or any other Android Wear (Moto 360, G Watch). My old Gear S2 had that issue but that watch was garbage. I'm going to look into a Bluetooth management app to see if I can prioritize my stereo higher than the Huawei Watch. Even with that issue, it's a great watch.
I've only had this watch for a week or so but so far I'm pretty happy with it. It looks great, there's a nice selection of aftermarket bands that look good for a reasonable price. Calls aren't as loud as I'd like but they're fine when there's no background noise. Playing music on this watch sounds nearly as good as my phone. It seems louder/cleaner than phone calls. I haven't tried any roms yet but they're coming soon. I like to give stock a chance for a week or so before modifying.
My only complaint is I wish it was a little thinner like my GWR was.
I keep on setting the audio bluetooth codec under dev optioons on "aptx" but after exiting the option goes back on "default".

Mine doesn't appear to stick either, but when I use my BT speaker I see an option in the connect dialog to use the Qualcomm aptX driver even though the codec is set to default (SBC). I don't see this aptX option when using my car or earbuds. I know this doesn't really help much, but I thought it was relative. I do know that the AVRCP setting does stick. Have you looked in the Google Issue Tracker? I'll go and star the issue if I can find it.
Edit: It is THERE listed as closed due to lack of data, feedback. Seems they ignored the obvious.... codec selection not sticking?
How do you tell if aptx is working while you're playing something to say a wireless speaker?

In BT settings I see a toggle for Qualcomm aptX and it's on... but in Dev Ops the BT codec still says Default: SBC. I think the audio codec setting there is busted, but the phone seems to use the best available codec. The device is a Creative (Soundblaster) Roar BT speaker. Now if I could only get the phone to auto connect to my car kit. Stays paired but will only manually connect which is a real pain.

Hmmm. My JBL Flip 4 is paired and it can use aptx but no option there. Weird.
My fm transmitter car kit will connect automatically, as long as it's set for media and phone calls.. Is yours just set for media only?

Yes, I've tried every combination there. It was working perfect with the N6P, and has never worked with the P2XL. Car kit is the absolute cheapest Chinese one you can find on Ebay... audio only, BT version 2.0 I think with no phone mic lol. Time to pony up and get a newer/better one. Had not considered FM transmitter because my car has the line in AUX. in my console so I can hide it.... It's about the size of a matchbox. This is a first world problem I know, but really annoying to me, and I know it's the phone because the Nexus was working for a year no problems. Thanks for your response.

We are both very frustrated here. Me cause I know I have an aptx capable device and am not getting to use it. You because you can't do a simple auto connect via bluetooth. Oy! Come on January update!
see my post here for a similar issue that I was able to workaround fairly easy
TLDR: You need root, edit your build.prop (using text editor, some app from the play store, etc) and change the following key: persist.vendor.bt.a2dp_offload_cap
by removing -aac from the string.
I'm sorry if it looks like I'm spamming I just encountered this issue on a lot of forums with no result and I do hope that this will help some
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.leftrightstereo.nejc.leftrightstereo
I tried that app to confirm I have no stereo sound. It only produces mono sound but both speakers work.
I also tried 2 pairs of headphones. Both play sounds in single channel sound through both sides. So I can say the phone is faulty. I noticed the problem today. I am sure this didn't happen yesterday.
How do I go about it? I just want to try something before needing to hard reset and wipe the phone data
I haven't installed new apps in the Last few days apart from the one above.
It's a 20X AL00 original Chinese rom 9.1 patch 120 so it's on the latest update.
I need ideas to try something. I have reset the phone already.

Thank you bro. That was the reason. The strange thing is I haven't enabled it myself so I don't know how this happened.
I have an issue with a new pair of bluetooth headphones i have just purchased. Specifically media playback sound quality. It is utterly woeful, with distortion, hiss, and cackles/pops continually over any media player or videos. Sound quality on calls is fine. I know that the headphones work, as i have used them on other devices and they function fine. My S9 is currently up to date.
I initially though that it was something to do with volume limiter as the weird thing is occasionally when they immediately connect and i play some music they work fine, then the quality drops as soon as the limiter notice pops up. I have checked though and the limiter is actually turned off. Turning it back on doesn't solve the issue either. I've gone so far as to wipe the whole cache partition and nuke all the caches, but that hasn't helped either.
Is there a known issue that I am unaware of ? Hopefully with a resolution, or other obvious steps i could try that people could recommend, as I am out of ideas now.

i flip back and forth between a few different BT headsets and never have this issue and have also used the same headsets on several devices in my bag-o-tricks. The phone does use a DAC for music where its pretty raw for the phone convo, which could explain why calls are ok, but music isnt. Is this your only pair of BT headphones? Do you know anyone who will help you test them on another phone?

I have experimented a bit more, and think that this is a codec issue. If I enable the developer menu, and switch to another codec (not the SDC if defaults to) them restart the headset they work fine. Problem is that it always defaults back to SDC whenever the headphones are disconnected for a period of time. I can't see how to force the use of another codec, both AAC and LDAC for example work absolutely fine with the headset. Though this is quite a long process just to get the headphones to work each and every time i want to use them.

gotcha. i also understand youre probably at work like many of us poor schmucks such as myself, which would make it kinda hard to test things out right this moment. But do any of your coworkers have a BT speaker you can connect to to try to replicate the issue there as well? Im mainly trying to eliminate variables at this point. You might try flashing the most current Odin files with the "HOME_CSC" as to not erase your user data. Itll over-write the code for the OS and so forth and nuke any software issues that might be causing this
I've now tested another set of bluetooth headphones and they work absolutely fine, they default into the aptX codec. Is that determined by what the device primarily works with ?

yes, the codec is changed by the DAC within the phone to be the best suited to whatever device its connecting to. What kind of headphones are you using that get the garbage sound? I have a pair of Tozo T10's, which are the off-brand individual ear buds from amazon for $50 and they sound very good. I also have a pair of maxsonic bluetooth buds which cost $17 that are connected to each other by a wire and they sound equally as good.
