Hi, I am looking for a Sense 2.1 custom ROM, but I couldn't find and ROM. Does anyone have a Sense 2.1 ROM? If so, can you please post a download link?

I flashed this ROM, but the only versions avalaible are 6.0, 5.0 and 4.0. I want to have a *completely* stock ROM, only with root added. I think about flashing a RUU and then root the system.

did you mean that's rom is not completely like stock rom with just rooted and added some tweaks, mod and more languages..?
or you mean you just want stock rom but just already rooted..?
what about this RUU with already rooted from phiber 2000 in here..but what i know this is not sense 2.1, maybe sense 3.0

I'd like to have a stock ROM, but with root. I need root for some apps, for example ViPERFX. I'm gonna flash this RUU and see which sense it is.

EDIT: This is Sense 3.0. I'm gonna flash 2.3.3 RUU and root it.

I like Sense 2.1 more. First I liked those 3D animations, but then it became overrated for me. Also, Sense 2.1 barely lags, unlike Sense 3.0.

it's too old
the stock rom ,it's too old

There is no best ROM, it's subjective. Find one you like the look of and give it a go, don't like it, try another.
I understand m8 but I'm kinda new to all this flashing custom Rom stuff and just want a stable and fast Rom that does everything the stock 2.2 does and more with the g1 only cm was available through Rom manager so just used that where the desire has a lot of options lol

If you want sense you should either go for a SenseHD rom, or a MoDaCo one.
If you want stock Android, I would recommend CyanogenMod!
You know you don't need to download and flash roms solely through ROM Manager?
My advice is just to look at the ROM forum and download the one with the most hits, it's popular for a reason. There are really only two different types of ROM, Sense and the stock Android bundled usually with ADW.Launcher. It's not like WM where there are a plethora of different mods and registry changes, at least not in my limited experience.
I agree just neva been this spoilt for choice

have you updated to Froyo yet? As far as I know, they are just 2.2 Froyo radios. So if you have updated to 2.2 chances are you don't need to update. (Double check with the radio thing, I am an Android newbie as well so I am not 100% sure.)
As for the kernel, as far as I know you don't need to update this either.
For Sense roms I strongly suggest LeeDroid, and Desire HD roms I'd go for RCMixHD (Camera still not working yet, but it should be fixed soon), non Sense roms, go for OpenDesire, Cyanogen or MIUI
Agreed, if you want to try something refreshingly different, try MIUI.
Still ain't a clue which one to try lol
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
well try Leedroid first, then MIUI for non-sense, and see if you are attracted to sense or not

Also try CyanogenMod or OpenDesire to see if you like Stock Android.
There is no harm in trying different roms and switching if you want!
I've used cm 6 before Ive not flashed roms without using Rom manager and leeroid isn't available through that there's only a small section like cm, defrost nd others

IT's not too hard
1. Download Leedroid rom from their minisite's dropbox folder.
2. copy file onto your sd card
3. reboot into recovery
Important part!!
DO A NANDROID BACKUP!!!
i. select backup/restore
ii. select backup and let it rip
iii. return to menu
4. select flash .zip
5. find the leedroid rom & select it
Cheers for help just one more question once I've flashed a custom Rom if I ever wanted to return to stock how would I go about doing it

This is exactly what you are looking for. And I highly recommend it as I have used it for over a month with no issues at all.
Read up on this link and go for it. It is just like stock but very fast.
You can also flash a new kernel which I also recommend from pershoot.

Just curious as to why you specifically didn't want Cyanogenmod?
When I first got my first android phone I really didn't think I'd ever need anything more than a rooted stock rom, but after trying CM6 (which was the latest at the time), I never wanted to be on a stock ROM. CM really gives you the feeling of the stock rom (I even just install the stock launcher instead of ADW) but with tons of useful improvements in speed, battery life, and usability.
Not trying to persuade, but just wonderin I always keep a rooted stock 2.2 backup just in case, but I've been using CM7 as my daily for couple weeks now and its great.
The swype keyboard thats why I dindt put it, I dindnt make a backup

[Q] Should I update my DHD to the official GB update from HTC?

Hi all,
Yesterday HTC launched the official gingerbread 2.3.3 update for the Desire HD over the air.
I have my phone rooted with a custom (gingerbread 2.3.3) ROM from RCMixHD team. So I already have GB..
But if I update, will I lose root? Also, will I be able to flash custom roms after the update? cause with the android 2.2.1 update, that became a problem.. (downgrading was necessary).
Also.. is the update worth it, is it better/faster/more stable than custom GB roms?
thanks for answering,
Simple answer: If you want a stock, unrooted phone then yes, install the OTA update and if it is possible to get the OTA on a rooted phone (I have doubts) then yes, you will lose root.
No, it won't be better to have the stock ROM. You can already get a rooted version of it.
Summary: Leave well alone.

ok thanks, thought the OTA would be more stable and fully functional or something, but I've got no problems with my custom ROM so okay, will stay with it
No worries.
If you have problems why not upgrade to LeeDroid v3.0.x then you get the equivalent of the latest OTA update plus even more goodies.
stock rom 2.2.1
So the I have a stock rom and i can update but after 1 or 2 weeks can i root my phone and use a cooked rom with sense 3.0. Or my phone will be totally locked(for rooting and new xda roms) and I`ll be stuck with sense 2.0 .
EDIT : OK . I did the (OTA) and i found that i will be able to downgrade and install the xda rom , so i am not locked and still can have some fun with my phone 10x xda

[Q] should i wait for gingerbread to be released?

so, i want to flash a custom rom but as stock gingerbread is on the horizon is it worth waiting and seeing what custom roms pop up using the said desire 2.3 rom as a base?
also will the stock 2.3 be running sense? i heard its not, so will a rom dev be able to put sense 3.0 on to a desire 2.3 stock rom?

It will and it will probably be Sense 1.9. It is not that easy to remove half of your devices appeal by removing Sense. Also the leak showed it is all possible to fit in Desire's tiny memory.

Possible, but I personally would not like that. Give me the best possible performance out of something that is intended for our Desires. I don't digg ports.
Thanks for the question and response. I was having the same question in mind

[Q] custom jellybean roms for optus001

hi noob here
i have htc one x branded from optus (cid is optus001)
and it is already updated to jellybean 4.1.1 and sense+
but i want to know if i can install jellybean 4.2.1 or even other jellybean 4.1.1 custom roms? (with sense or without sense doesnt matter)
if yes any recommendations?
i have tried searching this forum and net but couldnt find definite answer
thanks in advance
Dude you can install any Sense JB ROMs since you updated hboot. But for AOSP/AOKP/CM10 ROMs you need special boot.img and gps won't work. You only needed to upgrade to SENSE 4+ if you were planning on using a sense jb rom. I recommend you try each rom and see what you like best.
