Pc doesn't view folders on my phone. - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

When I make new folders on my phone through my file manager (Solid Explorer), and connect the phone to pc, the pc can't read these folders.
It just views the folders as files with 0kb whatever the size of the folder is,
Other old folders are viewed normally.
This thing started to happen after I have flashed a new rom (Hyperdrive for t-mobile)
Is it a phone related thing or pc?
Thanks

[Q]Hide\move system folders on SDcard

Hi all. I see much system folders on SDcard. Such as a folders with "." in name and folders from some APPs. So there is question, can we some how hide\move them?
How i see this situation. Can we make folder on SDcard and mount it like a SD in Android? So we will get 1 folder with all system folders, and all our folders.
I bad in android\linux but that what i think. Any suggestions?
The point of the "." is to hide them, your file manager should be able to to chose between showing hidden files or not. For astro it never worked for me, but in root explorer the function works. So first go in to the settings of your file manager and see if there is a option to show/hide hidden files, if the options does not exist or does not work try a different file manager.

Eh i mean in Windows. But in android file managers too.
So Hidding is very hard cause if u come to friend u must make that option on his system. So i hope we can MOVE this folders some where.
you cant move the folders because the apps would all be looking in the wrong place. There *should* be folder on sdcard where everything like this goes, would make your sdcard much more organized, but thats just too easy
Cant you go into folder properties in windows and select hidden??

i mean something another...
What about at boot mount SD-Card in /mnt/sdcard_data, and create folder sys (where we copy all data) and mount it like /mnt/sdcard
And all path will be right.
This mounts must be on boot.

[Q] Can't See Certain Folders in MTP

Hi everyone. When I'm connected to my pc in MTP mode and try to browse, certain files and folders are invisible. The folders in particular I'm trying to access are my app folders under Android\Data\ specifically my kindle app folder to place a few pdfs to read in there. These folders were visible before I rooted my phone and installed my current ROM, also I know they are there because I can browse them in my file manager app. I am currently running the latest build of CM9.
If anyone could explain to me how to fix this issue that would be great. Also I know there are ways to still move my pdfs into this folder but I would prefer the simple copy paste route. Thanks.

[Q] Internal DCIM shows 840mb under properties, but EVERY folder is EMPTY! HOW??

I have the weirdest issue w/ my T999 S3 ever! I checked what is eating up my internal storage, and found that I have 840mb in pics and videos, so I checked the internal DCIM folder, and EVERY single folder is empty - yet the DCIM folder shows 840mb in size and 1,417 files under properties! How is that possible??
I checked everywhere online and can't find an answer.
At first I thought it was a mirror file of some kind representing my external SD card. So I checked that, but in that are my actual pictures and 7gb worth of videos/pics.

UPDATE:
Oh...I think I just figured it out. With Root Explorer it shows a hidden (thumbnails) folder. But is there a way to transfer that thumbnail folder to the external SD card so it doesn't eat up my internal storage?
You coul try symlinking the folder. Create a folder of the same name, can be different if you prefer, then using root explorer long press and select "Link to this Folder". Then go to the original and choose it. Done!
Don't know if it'll work or not, and if it does you'll have to redo the process if you ever wipe data or dalvik for root explorer.
Alteratively, if you have init.d support, you can create a script to do this at boot time. Its a better way but many people don't know how, and/or don't have init.d support.

menu>setting>storage
there you can see what all are occupying your storage. I seriously doubt that miscallenous files may be the culprit.
Perhaps they only appear empty! I don't know if you are rooted or not, but if you are browsing via the stock file browser, you just may not have permissions to read the files and folders. They do it for your own protection! If you are rooted then make sure you are using a root-enabled file browser.

Internal SD File Structure has embedded"0" folders (2)

So I flashed a new rom with all the wipes and I ended up with a couple issues and the typical 4.2 file structure under the "0".
I tried another ROM again today (with the wipes) and now I have two "0" folders, one embedded under another and a lot of my backups are in different locations.
So it's SDCard/0/0.
Is there a good way to fix this?

I know the CAUSE is from using an out-of-date recovery. TWRP hasn't had that issue for a while, but i think CWM only fixed it just recently. It didn't start until i believe 4.2.1 ROMS were flashed. I'm still not sure if it's a good thing or not to delete those "0" folders or not. I'm sure someone will chime in on that.
the 0 folders have your sd card files in them (pictures, music, etc). if you move all your stuff back to the root of your internal sd card you can delete the 0 folders.

I tried moving the folders on my windows PC (old pos) and it didn't work. Android file transfer doesn't work with my GS3 and my Mac.
Frustrating.
Anyways to reflash something in CWM or is moving the files the only way?
Edit: Astro works alright...so where should Ibe putting most of these files? Under SDCard or under SDCard/0?
Now i moved some folders up, the gallery shows everything as a picture (icons) and titanium can't find any apps.
Nw sure what to do.
After I went back to stock, re-rooted, and reflashed 4.2, I tried moving everything from /sdcard/0 to /sdcard. It seemed to work, but then all of a sudden, on the next boot, it was all gone. My internal storage was wiped.
Luckily most of the important stuff is on my external SD card, but that was still really frustrating.
Just a word of warning if you try to move these files. Make a backup.

No file moving should be done, it will most likely cause data loss when the issue is finally gone... If CWM has fixed it switch to the newest one or use TWRP and Fully Wipe the phone including format /system...
Here is a link to a script you can flash to move files from 0 folders back to sdcard, you can thank the OP of the script there:

Manual solution via Windows
I had the same problem. Solved via the following steps: Using Windows, navigate to deepest level "0" folder. Select all, copy. Navigate to the next higher level "0" folder (or the root "Phone" folder if you're only one step down). Paste. Windows will perform a merge, versus replace.
Next, delete the "0" folder from the directory you're currently in, the one you just copied all the files from. I should note, I actually moved the folder to my desktop just in case I needed to bring it back later. So far I haven't, but better safe than sorry.
Once that's done, select all in the same folder, copy. Navigate to the next higher "0" level folder or the root (or the root "Phone" folder if you're only one step down). Paste. Repeat same process, move up a level, repeat, move up a level. You'll need to do this for every "0" folder you have (I had two, I've seen reports of more & less).
Eventually, you'll have all the same files and directory structure merged up to the root Phone folder. My device, a Samsung S3 running 4.3, recognized and responded to the changes with no problems.

[Q] Google Play Music downloaded file locations

On At&t sgs3 running 4.01 still i have some crappy music in my unknown artist and unknown song title. If i could find the location of these files on the phone i would like to delete them or correct them on my pc. I have searched google and followed other forms instructions and found nothing under these locations in the way of numbered mps files
/mnt/sdcard/android/data/com.google.music/files/music <-- no music folder on phone
Android\data\com.google.android.music.files.music <-- No folder named Android at root
/data/data/com.google.android.music/cache/music/ <-- no folder named music many sub folders
Has subfolder cache\files\music no files underneath that
sdcard-->Android-->data-->com.google.android.music-->cache-->music <-- no folder named music sub foler \.music\files
nothing under sub folder either
/sdcard/Android/data/ com.google.android.music /cache/music <-- same as above no folder named music
sd/data/data/com.google.android.music/files/music <-- no sd folder at root checked sdcard and no data folder
so yea i googled and searched and im looking for the location of the downloaded songs from google play music to my sgs3 from att with 4.01

ok ,
im not sure if this is the solution to the sgs3 downloaded music prob but this is what i did. while looking in the previously mentioned folders i did eventually find some files that were marked with numbers and . mp3 file extensions. i do not remember which folder sorry ! but i erased them and then checked the play music and the files were still vi sable. i used the tools/settings and refreshed and they were still there. so i perceived that i had missed them. only after i rebooted the phone and looked again did these songs show as finally no media in libary. this leads me to believe that once you find the *.mp3 files and delete or whatever you choose to do , rename and edit id3 data , that you need to warm boot the phone.
For now my problem has been solved and this q can be closed , i hope this helps anyone in the future
