I was trying to download a game off the play store and it wouldn't download and said I had insufficient some so I went to check my storage and it said I had used 95% of my storage space and 25.5 of my 32 was misc stuff. So I went and deleted cache and apps I didn't use as much but that only dropped me a couple %. I tried to use root browser to see what else I could delete but I'm not sure what to delete or what to do to restore space!?

Hi,
My arc's internal memory left is 11mb which is 3%.
I have rooted & deleted many big apps. I don't have many text messages but 4 email accounts.
Only downloaded phone apps are SwiftKey, zdbox, titanium backup pro & beautiful widgets.
Due to this I often get lag, home screens removing every widgets and apps rearranging themselves after reboot. If I don't reboot its often unusable. I can no longer download apps on the market or update sone apps.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Just interested as I haven't heard of anyone else with the same problem before.
I originally intended to keep this phone for long but will now just wait for a successor with more memory.
Really frustrating as I had a xperia x1 before with many text messages and emails without issues.

Try Link2SD or App2SD for the internal memory issue.
And for speed up your device, I recommend the V6 Supercharger.

you only isntalled 4 apps and only 11mb remaining ?
i installed lots 8 apps, and lots of games. most games can be moved to sd, but some cannot and uses phone internal memory, and i still have around 100mb free space..

I have 126 user apps installed... with link2sd Still 132MB internal memory free. And yes, try Supercharger.
I have 4 apps on the phone because they wouldn't work very well if I transfered them to sd card.
But other apps that can't be transferred I have already done so when I rooted my phone. I even deleted bloatware.
Seriously I am completely stumped why I'm so low in memory & it keeps getting lower, 1 month ago it was 10%.
Maybe it's my email? I have 2 Gmail & 2 hotmail accounts. The 2 Gmail doesn't get used though as I put manual download for emails.
Thanks for the replies!

I think you should do a factory reset and install each app step by step, so you can see which app is using that much memory.
I'll do that thanks... Do you know if there's anyway to save the playlists on music player though as I don't really wanna reorganise all my music...

try clearing cache first.. that can get huge sometimes.

Try to backup your playlists on your sdcard.
simple reflash first.
Thanks I just factory reset & now I have 50% memory. Which still don't make sense now as I have installed more apps on phone & kept all original text messages.
I reckon I might have had some kind of malware or virus beforehand.

bloatware (apps which instaled on phone before you buy it)
Nah wasn't bloatware as I permanently deleted them when phone was rooted. Though I did install some non market apps before, which I reckon installed hidden malware or app that was taking the memory.

Thanks. Moff1
Why does my phone give me these weird "insufficient storage" pop ups when I have free memory. I barely have any apps on my phone and I just went to update tb and it said that I have no room. Also when I move apps to sd card most of them work but some of them give me this message as well even tho I know they're lying because I know I have free memory on both the phone and sd card but I get this message and they don't let me install or move apps. Anyone have this problem before? And I've seeen it on different roms so I don't think a reflash will fix it.

First, what program is giving the error, and what segment of the memory is it trying to write to. If you are trying to write to the SD card and there is no room there, then you might have a problem with that. On the other hand, it may be another section.
Additionally, you may have downloaded a program that wants to allocate a very large chunk of space for itself. More than you have. Some games download their data when you first load them. They often check for sufficient space first. They can use well over half a gigabyte, so if your SD Card doesn't have that space free, it will error out.
I know wht you're talking about but I don't recall titanium backup needing an extra couple hundred Mbs to work lol.
Its happening with every freaking app I'm trying to download off the market or install off my sd card. And even the apps I'm trying to simply update off the market.
And I have like 4gbs free on my sd card and 500 mb free on the phones storage.

There's been several ways of going about remedying this, there's the odin to stock method, the factory reset, and the clear market data method. I've personally only tried the latter 2, and they work temporarily in my experience.

DONT REFLASH... lol titanium backup odex file is corrupt, remove it from system/app and uninstall TB, then download again
What hsppens is there are fragments of the old programs still In data that screw up the reinstall. Search with root explorer and nuke those bits. For instance if youtube app fails, search for youtube and a list of all files with that in the name will pop up. Nuke those files (don't forget to make r/w). Other option is odin and clean imstall.

yeah I got that error too
Is there a app that can automatically clean old left behind files like 1click cleanup.
Hi all, I too had that problem before when I was on stock EC05 BML and had little space on internal memory. I could not upgrade Titanuim so I got so mad that I started getting into custom roms with MTD to have more space. Also helps if you get a class 10 32gb card.
I saw that the July 15, Titanium try to download from market it failed because not enough space and I was tripping but I used the lucky and it cleaned the messed up left behind odex, then install was coolio.
I also get sometimes could not parse error on .apk and never could figure it out. I guess they are not compatible with my phone since they were not downloaded from market...

A app called SDmaid has helped me in the pass.
Thank you guys. I'm going to try now and see what happens.
Edit: okay so I searched "titanium backup" in root explorer and got nothing.

No problem, just helping out. have fun
Titanium Backup is one of the most useful programs to come along for people who root and flash. It is well worht a few bucks ($6) to guarantee working updates, support the developer, freeze apps, batch work, and to save all your data. It pains me to see a program discussed here whose sole purpose is to cheat the developer out of a few bucks.

I just had to scroll back and re- read the whole thread. The second time around I saw the app you refered to by name. After Google searching it I realized what you are talking about. I agree with your statement and am a proud owner of Titanium Backup.
He says it will get rid of all 'corrupt data'?? I don't understand...?

I think that this is sometimes caused by unnecessarily re-flashing the gapps when doing a dirty upgrade upgrade on cm or aokp. It also happened to me after advance-restoring data on aokp. Duplicity seems to be the main connection here. Clean installs are good for the epic's soul.

"Insufficient storage available" when I have 800mb free for apps and 9gb free on sd.
See title. What's wrong with this idiot phone? Happens with every app I try to install.
I'm on stock 96 rooted Xperia S.
Tried searching on Google and found a couple solutions that didn't help at all.
Weird
i had that issue right after one of my apps had a licence check failiour
Clear google play store data, that usually works for me

Did you installed any patch with Lucky Patcher? If yes, go to fix problems and look for things related to apps not installing...

Seems like the problem fixed itself. And no I don't use lucky patcher. I don't know what happened but it annoyed me a lot.
I know this is not a new issue but I thought with the new android 4.3 update and the ability to move apps to our sd card it would have been a thing of the pass.
I'm on Jovi's 4.3 update and I am not able to download all the apps I want to, ( apps that I had on my s3 no problem) and I am also not able to update a few apps in my play store.
Am I missing something here, is there something I'm not doing correctly?

I had a similar issue I had found that my back up I made in cwm was 4.5 gigs which didn't leave me enough room for apps I moved the file from internal sd to ext sd havent had that problem come back

For some reason when I rebooted my phone today it gave me a notification that my storage space is running low?! But when I went into the storage settings to figure out what to delete the only big files I have are 3.5 gigs of apps. But yet my phone says I have used 28.5 of my 32 of space? I'm not sure what to do or what to delete. Please help!
