So the Samsung keyboard keeps popping up taking up half the screen when I'm using an external BT keyboard. Any way to disable this? The Nexus 7 does this automatically when a BT keyboard was connected.
Yes, there is a way. B
Go to the default input method menu and if you have your bluetooth keyboard connected, there will be an option for disabling the Samsung keyboard pop up.

I have tried several keyboards with the same issue as follows.
I can't consistently pull the keyboard out of my bag, turn it on, and start typing. Is there a solution? I am currently using a ZaggFlex keyboard and have it switched to Android on the back. I do have it paired. I have tried the "bluetooth keyboard easyconnect" app. But I just can't seem to get any combo to work consistently.
Anybody having consistent success with bluetooth keyboards and your Galaxy Note?
I use the Logitech BT keyboard for android, it connects every time without fail.
Thanks for the reply. I may look at that one if JB doesn't help.
I have been using my LG stereo bluetooth with the Note 2 with no problem except when using the google voice to text button located on the on screen keyboard. When you push the microphone button on the keyboard, it pops up the google voice input but does not do anything. I have tried the stock keyboard, swipe, and swiftkey. The bluetooth headset works when using s-voice and google now. Any suggestions?
Anyone else having this issue?
Just checking to see if this is only affecting me.

Did you find a solution? I have te same problem with my Parrot car Bluetooth unit when connected.
Just out of curiosity, we're you able to get a voice input button when switching to Swype keyboard? When I changed only that keyboard setting, the Swype keyboard came up, but with no mic button.

Thanks for the link, I have been looking into this since I bought the Note 2 and felt like I was the only one having this issue. Thank you for letting me know I am not crazy. I hope they fix the issue soon.
I am using the above keyboard with my Samsung Galaxy S3 (also connected to a monitor). The keyboard pairs and connect without a problem and seems to work fine. However, as soon as I add a Logitech Tablet Mouse, the keyboard starts to go into sleep mode very quickly (after a few seconds) as soon as I use the mouse to navigate. The keyboard wakes up after about a second when hitting a key, but it is still very annoying. I searched for similar reported problems, but I did not find any yet. Any suggestions?
Yesterday I purchased a bluetooth mouse and a bluetooth keyboard to use on my new galaxy s4. When I connected both, I can move the mouse and use the keyboard but the keys get "stuck" and will keep sending the same letter. The mouse will intermittently stick and not update its location for a bit and then snap way out.
If I recall correctly it says that that the keyboard keeps reconnecting when it start repeating the key it is stuck on.
If I turn off one or the other device, neither the mouse or keyboard has any issues both function smoothly. Is this normal? Is there something I can do to fix this?
The phone's model number is SGH-M919. Its on android 4.2.2.
Kernel version 3.4.0-453951
Build number JDQ39.M919UVUAMDL
The keyboard is a Logitech Tablet Keyboard, I can't find any other way to describe it.
The mouse is an HP Bluetooth Mouse X4000b.
Thank you for any assistance!
I have been using a logitech bluetooth keyboard 441xa yr0021 for quite a while now with my sgs3. It works great. However, since the upgrade to 4.1.2 stock rooted, when I connect to the keyboard my sgs3 says: "To use bluetooth keyboard change input to samsung qwerty." I click OK or click the x, either one, and the sgs3 is now set to the samsung keyboard when I disconnect from the bluetooth keyboard. I tried freezing samsung keyboard and after disconnect from the bluetooth keyboard, no keyboard response on my sgs3 at all until I restored the samsung keyboard. Not a critical problem, but interesting, at least to me. Samsun keyboard doesn't have the layout that Smart Keyboard (my usual default) does, and that's why I dislike the switch back.
I note that if I switch back to Smart Keyboard while still connected to the bluetooth keyboard, the bk still works. Disconnect and it's still Smart Keyboard.
