OK first all of 4.2.2 doesn't make your phone slow or lag or something it's an update so it is for improvements and i have also been on 4.2.2 and it is definitely better and smoother than 4.1.2 and i really don't know about the stability update but yea the update did came in "K3" version of 4.2.2..ALL you have to do is better get updated as then you can move apk's to sd card with inbuilt function of 4.2.2 and many performance improvements and you can get that on http://www.sammobile.com/ just get registered for free and download...and FLASH IT VIA ODIN
as per what i can see "K7" is the latest but in my country INDIA K3 is latest works well on my device and you can even put some performance mod if you like
don't forget thanks button...

So as I was browsing around the interwebs, I decided to check Sammobile to see if there were any new firmwares.
Turns out T-Mo released a new rom this month (no idea when because I dont check daily) and I would assume its Jellybean.
Here is the Hotfile link they sent me to and I'm downloading it right now.
Its not jellybean, its 4.0.4

Crap, okay....
Mods, you can delete this thread
The improvements are: "Qualcomm fix, Security enhancements, Vlingo S Voice improvements."
I have a stock T989 with the LI1 firmware... it's ICS 4.0.4. The new LI4 version is... ?
I haven't updated because I don't trust that it will be stable yet. I'm getting 36 hours of battery life (with plenty of use!) out of LI1 right now. I don't want it to get all fubar'd again.

Hey guys,
It's my first question on this website so please forgive me if I am too noob-ish with my questions.
So recently I got an OTA update for my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 asking me to update from jelly bean 4.1.2 to 4.3 and I did so with no second thought. However, within two weeks of using the new jelly bean version, I am sick of its performance issues, battery life, wifi problems and a host of other annoying things it brought to the table. So I went about looking for advice on several forms on how to improve performance and make my phone usable again.
In the end, I ended up rooting my phone successfully using a thread I found.
I also installed a custom recovery (CWM) so I could flash well-rated custom ROMs. Now, I have a few questions before proceeding since I came across a couple concerns other people expressed on other similar threads......I heard the new 4.3 update came with some kind of new bootloader and Samsung KNOX, and I've read that it could cause problems if I try to downgrade my phone back to the stock ROM (4.1.1) or 4.1.2.
So I have ruled out the option of downgrading my phone given the risk of permanently bricking it.
So my question and concern is.....can I go ahead and flash a custom ROM at this point without bricking my phone? I am thinking about Cyanogenmod 10.2, which is apparently based on jelly bean 4.3. Can I install cyanogenmod 11 (based on 4.4 kitkat) instead of 10.2? What are my risks of flashing a custom ROM through CWM at this point?
Please help, I'm stuck!!! Any help is much appreciated

Cyanogenmod is a good rom that improves your performance alot since bloatware is removed. My S4 on a stock rom uses on average 1.14gb of ram. When I switched to Cyanogenmod 11(4.4.2) It knocked it down to 550mb avarage. I have noticed a significant improvement over the stock rom. If you do it be VERY careful and follow all instructions exact. Make sure everything you download is for your model and you should be fine. Other than that, like you said downgrading is out of the picture so you can try other roms that are 4.3 and up if you don't like CM10/11.

yeah i also would also recommend Cyanogemod, for battery issues i would get the app Performance control and look up which Governor and i/o schedulers, i personally recommend the ondemand or ondemandx governor, you can check DIS out if you want to see it explained, just a brief explanation of why you should use them ondemandx clocks itself to 500mhz when the screen is off and is pretty much a nice battery saver, as for i/o's i myself have not done very much research into these but there are some threads on it too, i just use deadline.

no its not slower at all its smoother ( specially when scrolling on Facebook and on Google plus ) , it has some nice features : like transparent statues bar , look screen widgets , Gs4 music player , updated gallery , newer GPU driver ( smoother gaming ) .....etc
If you go to 4.1.1 then there is huge risk u brick ur device with sds(sudden death syndrome) so dont downgrade to 4.1.1...
Thanks all
If you really want to go back 4.1.1, before choosing any 4.1.1 rom do check if your device is affected with sds brick bug by installing an app from play store. And after that use some custom kernel like persuis.
Ps me too on 4.1.1 miui rom, why? I'm a miui addict!

Stock OTA updates will kill your phone

I tried every damn firmware I had including AMF7 official 4.1.2 , leaked firmware 4.2.2 and also russian 4.2.2.
On all ROMs my phone is hanging.
On a lighter note......after all these AWESOME kitkat roms........perhaps the best of stock roms wud look like sluggish as hell..........some of my colleagues are also in distress with the latest updates and i have no words to them except that the time has indeed come to join in this part of the world....long live our developers.....:good::good:

Hi Dear Users of Samsung Grand Gt-i9082
yes its very true there are a lot of cases reported in Pakistan after OTA/Fota update users are unable to use the Samsung Galaxy Grand model Gt-i9082 , because its too much hanging, you can say so that phone is frozen , users are even unable to click on apps button, and in download mode there is a read colored information added, its solution which i explored and practically check, after that your phone will be work perfectly as it was working before, just you need to downgrade your phone into
version 4.1.2. I hope i will resolve all the issue.
Thanks & Regards
Sherry
Hi there,
I don't know where to ask for help as my Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 SM-T211 just got updated to KitKat 4.4.2, Right then and there, WiFi wouldn't work anymore, couldn't get any GPS fix using High Accuracy, Apps would open/close on it's own, battery drains so fast, slow apps, app features wouldn't work, camera couldn't be found, etc.
It was suggested on other posts to restore factory settings/wipe data from Recovery which I did but nothing changed. Now all I want to do is flash it back to JellyBean 4.1.2 which is very stable and very efficient.
I just want know where I can find/download the old ROM for my tablet? Hope someone can post a link here which is not from SamMobile Many thanks!
I don't know where you could get the firmware but SamMobile. If you want I could Mirror this file to my server in some hours since I have to go to school now.. Which Country do you need?
