Hi all,
I have tried 3 different 4.2.2 official ROMs and they all lag after installing many apps. The more responsive one is an Indian version but it ended up lagging too over time even though I got some minor OTA updates with it.
I'm currently on CyanogenMod 11 and it never lags no matter how intensive I use it but I really need to use dual sim.
So I will like to know if there's any new 4.2.2 that doesn't lag so that I can go back to stock and have access to my dual sim again.
Thanks in advance.

No.
AOSP Roms are Super Smooth.
But Dont have Dual Sim functionality.
For Dual Sim to work you have to use only samsung stock roms.

just get a custom ROM based on samsung ROM. Much faster than official ROM.
Official ROM is crazy laggy especially if you have many apps running in background.
Plain stock....
Just try the latest stock rom(indian version..or anything u please) and do the performance control tweak in general section..and flash "pure performance X Golden Edition" zip
That ought to do it..my phone is as smooth as AOSP. ^_^

seems like a good rom, will give it a try! few questions
1)is all the bloatware from at&t removed? the at&t contacts, navigation and all?
2)do all smart features like smart stay and wifi sharing work?
3)stock camera included? camera was one of the issues in cm10.1.2

1. Yes. He recently debloated his rom to 342 mb so it's extremely light.
2. Not sure since I never use those features. If not, the dev, Dan, will assist you in reactivating those features right away.
3. Yes, stock camera.

Great ROM for those that want a neat & clean package. Developer is always willing to help.
If there is a request for a specific item, he adds it as an optional install.

Actually i did it,but this is kind of old - i think the newest roms will be better and more stable. I can be wrong, but i dont like to have old software on my phone
For now i am using Xplaystation GB v2 and.. Looks good, smooth UI,good performance,no bugs for now. But one thing makes me mad - the lock screen. Is there any addon to change lockscreen for looks like JB/ICS?

Same here, no mater what I will always go back to stock GB with tweaks, its the fastest by far all Roms, most battery efficient and honestly it feels more like YOURS as u know what u did to it, and not someone else's tweak/mods to it,

I did fresh install of Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 using CWM. The ROM is great, most stable of the ones I used (official ICS, Liquid Nitro and some other ICS based) it has very few random reboots, and I think that SD card is a reason to that. I really like the CM 10.1.3 but problem is that games simply work slowly. I have installed Fruit Ninja 1.8.8 which worked fine on other ROMs I tried but here it works slowl, and Subway Surfers for example won't even open. Is there any fix to this?
Also by the way... Should I flash p936 baseband since I live in Europe?
Any of the CM or AOSP based ROMs will give you poor gaming performance. Only ROMs based on official ICS will have the performance needed IMHO. With that being said, currently I am running NitroTNT, which gives me the best balance of battery, performance and stability. You might also try SphinX which is based off of official Jellybean. Even though it isn't as good as ICS for games, it still is a lot better than CM.

Why might this be? Is it because the official-based roms use the kernel for this phone while CM uses a CM-based kernel? Can we maybe get CM10.1.3 working with an official jellybean-based kernel? @lyfkevin maybe you can provide some input.

Hmm I didn't know about NitroTnT, because I didn't first see it in repository... Looked again now and found it! From the description it does seem good, I'm downloading it at the moment. Will tell you the results I got tommorow!
Well I couldn't wait tommorow The ROM is nice it works fast, games work and there was not a random reboot yet! That is most important to me... By the way... Why does on every ROM LG voice recorder crash while trying to send voice message on facebook messenger?

Hmm that happened when I used Liquid Nitro too, it might be an issue with messenger. I think I'll replace it with a custom voice recorder. Oh and 1 suggestion (maybe I should have posted it on the Nitro TnT thread) I think you could have removed the stock calculator... There are 2 calculators there Anyway thanks for the ROM! It works fine for me!

The so called bugs you state are only in custom roms that have ported N3 and S5 features. If you want to flash a custom note II 4.4.2 with few tweaks then they are almost flawless. Also I've tried few custom roms with ported n3 and s5 features are 99% bug free.I agree sometimes porting features does break something else but that's what rooting and custom roms are all about. It's trial and error. In the end it comes down what each user prefers.I personally keep switching between 4.4.2 ROM which is heavily modded with S5 and Note 3 features but when i get bored of the heavy customizations I switch to 4.4.2 stock note 2 custom ROM. At times I even switch to AOSP ROM just to get away from touchwiz.XDA is all about preference and the user will get whatever he wishes on here.
I can't stand touchwiz messaging ui, i was wondering if i could just have the standard AOSP one in phantom rom? Any ideas? Also i can't stand the touchwiz widget for microsoft exchange, the standard Android or CM one is far more superior. I don't like merging all my email and messaging into one.
I have xperia arc s, and it's extremely slow. For example, I want to opet Whatsapp, and it opens 10 seconds after clicking on the icon. Same slowness is everywhere else. It's also extremely laggy, whether I do something simple or complex. Like it's using 10% of it's power. I did a factory reset, still slow. Then I've rooted it and flashed custom rom, still nothing, slowness is also here.
Is there any way to fix this? What could be the problem?
Thank you
what rom you have? ICS?
try a KK rom

use legacy xperia rom as suggested above at best kitkat
That's my secondary phone so it's just rooted, I cannot flash that ROM. But even with stock ROM, this phone should be a lot faster, my old Xperia X8 was 3 time faster!
Is it possible that the hardware is somehow damaged?

Have you ever thought that older android versions require less RAM and resources to work as compared to their newer counterparts? Even if KitKat has been optimized to work on low RAM devices, it still has many functions that require more RAM and resources. It's that simple.
