What call recorder works well with our GT-N7100.
Either that saves a good side but not the other.
So what program do you use?
What settings?

There are multiple apps that works well with our phone.
In my opinion, the problem lies within the use of BT headsets.
I have tested most of the available call recording apps, but so
far none of'em records BOTH ends of the conversation. Only
the other participant. It's a friggin' nag, but unfortunately it
seems to be unsolvable. I have asked around here on XDA
more than once, but no one has come up with a solution.
Anyway, test the "ACR" app out, for instance. It's good.
Please report back if you manage to get it working...

Does not work with Omega v20 and not work with Phoenix 16.7
I use an Xposed Module for the Exposed installer app called "EnableCallRecorder [1]
It works on the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.1.2 AND Galaxy Note 2 4.3!
Works great.
You must be rooted if this is a problem.
Well, I repeat that I strongly suspect the same result as always;
only the far side gets recorded when using BT headsets?
I searched through the whole thread, to get a positive from
anyone, that both sides were recorded via BT, but nothing.
Can ANYONE CONFIRM that it either works, or not?
In xposed module use call recording module it works and automatic call recorder app also work smoothly in blue tooth also
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
to get a decent recording at line level, choose either:
1. ROM patch to enable both way call recording
2. Use Xposed framework & enable both way call recording.

I am (of course) rooted.
Xposed installer + EnableCallRecorder Module installed
Still only the other side of the conversation gets recorded.
One thing though (@you, xbean); there is no option in xposed framework
to enable "both way recording". Only option is to enable recording module.
If you guys tell me both way recording via BT is possible, I guess it's true.
However, I cannot understand how to make it work, on my own Note II...
:crying:
That's strange.

Yes, it works flawlessly. Until I use it with a BT headset. *Arrgh*....I give up.....
Anyway, thanx for the input, guys!
The enable recording in Xposed framework will enable both way or line level recording. I used both way, bcoz we can get one way recording out of stock ROM. Suggest you to run through checking to ensure you have installed the Xposed framework correctly & update to the latest version.

And I still can't find the "record both way" option, in the framework installer..?

I'll try this program : Galaxy Call Recorder
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oduzhar.galaxycallrecorder&hl=fr
after trying many, it is very difficult to find one that works properly, so with a clear record on both sides.
I invite you to look back on the programs you use and especially the settings.
Regarding my best result was with ACR 7.4 and setting on Voice Call.
we hear the other person very well but our voice is weak.

Well I have been searching to no avail. Although, I'm sure I could have missed something.
Does anyone know how to make the Call Recorder App by Skvalex work on CM10? Maybe we can get a custom kernel with 2-way-call-recording enabled? I guess there is a kernel for Samsung ROMs but I believe that wouldn't work on AOSP/CM10
I did try the Android API method, but all the different methods either dont record, record in major static, or record my side only. Really need to get this working somehow, and stay with CM =)
Any advice would be appreciated.
The Call Recorder app was recently updated to support JB so I dont see why it wouldnt work. It requires his Alsa Mixer app installed and you have to select Alsa Mixer in the Call Recorder app settings. Im not on CM10 so I cant confirm.

I tried installing the Alsa Mixer as well, it does not record anything when in that selection. =\ Ill keep playing with it. I did not adjust any settings after Alsa Mixer installed, am I supposed to change anything?
You know what? I may be wrong about the AlsaMixer app. I think that was only necessary for use on the Galaxy Nexus which was my previous phone. Maybe we do need to have a kernel with the patch. Sorry.

Its ok. I tried everything and couldn't get one recording on CM 10. Its too bad because its very useful for me. Only thing left is to hope one of the kernel devs adds or enables 2wcr to the kernel.
Or I can learn how to compile a kernel in the next couple days and do it myself

please do. that'll be a major factor for me upgrading to a JB rom. btw, before you do any of that, if i were you, i would try the app called "Total Recall" that's what i'm using on my stock rooted. see if it works on jb?

Well I just tried the app "Total Recall" and another one called "Call Recorder Galaxy S2 / S3" made by the same developer. Neither worked. I went through the wizard to try and find a recording method that works. Only the last two tests 4 (don't know the method) and 5 (speakerphone / microphone recording) actually create a file of a recording but that is just static and garble. I uploaded a sample. I get the same thing from my call recorder app when I try different settings.
Hmmm I guess it has something to do with JB? Haven't tried it on stock as I went from brand new phone to CM 10 immediately. Oh well, good suggestion though, I thought it would have worked.
NOTE: If anyone does decide to download the file and listen to the audio, I must warn you its kind of loud and abrupt, so brace yourself.

Well recording works fine on ics. I just went stock rooted and recording is working fine using Standard API. I guess it had something to do with JB. Until they either incorporate 2wcr in CM 10 or a custom kernel for CM has it enabled, I'll stay stock rooted
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Some more testing results, I installed CM 9 and couldn't get a record using skvalex's call recorder. It showed the right notification icon and everything but stayed as "recording" after the call was ended. When I went into the app it timed out and asked if I wanted to close or wait. This happened multiple times.
So maybe it's something with CM?
Back on stock rooted for now. :banghead:

The recording works, but with caveats. Select microphone as the recorder, and AAC as the codec. Volume is extremely low, need to play on a computer or over speakerphone to hear it.

It's "problem" with CM as it does not have the Android API to record calls. Asfar as I can tell there are no kernel patches needed, just some modifications to dialer (framework).
CM9 2wcr
It works with CM9, I'm using MagikWizz and it works fine. I too am waiting for a JB kernel or ROM that works with 2 way call recording. If you find anything for SGSII let me know.
CM10 and Callrecorder
Sorry - posted to wrong thread
I am also looking for this and hope a kernel comes out soon. Wanamlite ROM for Galaxy SIII has call recording.
it's working on my t-moblie GS3, official stock jb 4.1.1 rom with the latest beta found here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441643.
i had to install alsa mixer, and use the last option in phone configuration,
records both sides pretty good, with just a slight "crackling" noise.
the last 2 pages were helpful in resolving some other minor issue with the incall volume.
hope this helps
Skvalex Call Recorder with Alsamixer
I have a Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus Maguro with CM 10.0.2-02130821-NIGHTLY installed and it has superuser built in2 the settings. Call Recorder is detected, but Call Recorder crashes. I had a look on the play store and it says if u have Android 4.3 u need the latest version of Superuser. I added it and still no go.
How do I get it a add 2 the updated Superuser as if I disable the built in version, it disables root access.

Ussd blocker will block the annoying USSD balance update popups that come up on your phone, each time you make a call or change data connectivity. This app is like a silent inbox for all your USSD popup messages.
Two main reasons to use this app:
- No usage popups especially when you don't have the time to read them, e.g after ending a call or unlocking your phone.
- USSD messages are lost once you dismiss them. So, if you are on a prepaid connection and want to know when and how you lost your balance, you can get it from your history of usage update messages in this app.
Installation:
- If you are rooted, install Xposed framework from here http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk and reboot your device.
- After installing the app, enable the Ussd Blocker Xposed module and reboot

Not Working!! (UI Force Closes)
This is really a nice concept for a module and I would like to thank you for your efforts. But there seems to be a problem as when I installed this module on my "SONY Xperia U with a stock based ROM" the module just force closes. The UI does not opens up.Kindly look into the matter and try to resolve it for me.
Also I would like to request a feature, an option to select which USSD messages to block. For example most people don't mind the after call notification.
Thank you.

Viper4Android FX v2.3.3.0 not working with Spotify
i'd just a bought a Note4 N910U (HK version). Rooted perfectly with CF, so that i could use V4A with Spotify just as i did with my i9505, but not joy. V4A, works with Google Play though - I checked the driver status in V4A, and it says processing = Yes. Not so with Spotify.
I've have tried disabling SoundAlive and AdaptSound. I've also moved V4A using TI backup to system app.
Any hints?

yeah, i had changed the sound settings too.
The other thing i did just now was edit my build prop. My original build.prop didn't have the lpa lines in there, so i added it in - it was a bit gutsy as i didn't fancy restoring my rom on day 2 of having the note 4. Restarted, and again, no joy.

i only use Spotify for my music needs, so it's bit frustrating v4a ain't working on my N910U, whereas it was perfect on i9505 Though like i said, it works fine in Google Music.
i've been thinking about the differences between i9505 and N910U, and maybe its could be 4.4.4 or the new touchwhiz, but then if you guys have got Spotify working on your N910x then i'm probably going to have put some extra time aside and maybe start from scratch... :crying:
That said, Note4 has only just got released in some countries the other day so maybe others might have a similar prob and an easy fix...

Viper is the only reason I root my devices.
So HTC got a bad record of not allowing two-way call recording.
On the M7 and M8, even on the One X - You can only hear yourself, and not the other party.
On the M7 I rooted the device and used Skvalex's Call Recorder software.
Now the phone is able to record all calls - even Bluetooth ones.
The question is... Can you record two-way calls on the 10?
Not Bluetooth ones, those won't ever work, as far as I know, without root... but normal two way calls.
Samsung, LG, Sony - they can all record two way without root, on stock.
But for some reason, HTC have (had?) this restriction.

I certainly hope so, it's very important for me to do that. I have a very malicious ex and need it to protect myself from false allegations.
I've got a few call recording apps ready to try when my phone comes on release day, hope this Friday.

Please, do report back once you receive your device and you can test this out.

Thank you!

Awesome!
Could you try "Call Recorder" by skvalex too?
It's not cheap, but you can just uninstall it in 5 minutes and you get back your money instantly.
(Of course, I understand if you don't want to, just curious.)

I got feedback from a HTC 10 user that the app works without root with the following settings:
Recording method - Standard API
Audio source - Voice call uplink + downlink
Recording format - WAV or MP3
I don't think that you really need a root to do so. It depends in just one application: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appstar.callrecorder&hl=fr

Call Recorder is worh every cent, I mean the 10 is not a very cheap phone either.
But, you can always try to to find some other free recorder in the Store. I always had to buy the paid version, the free ones always had too many limitations.

Yeah, thread is a couple of months old. But there is a new question!
Does it work with Oreo?
My phone nagging me with updates, but I really don't want to break call recording functionality...

Anybody knows how to disable the camera shutter sound besides muting the phone? I don't have the disable shutter sound button in the camera settings, seems only Snapdragon version has this feature. Thanks in advance
Yeah it's in Camera settings. Turn it off in there.
The problem is there's no option in the camera setting to disable the shutter sound.

if you are using the exynos version of s20 and it's rooted, you can try my little magisk module. it offers some csc features like camera shutter menu.
I'm using it on my s20 ultra, but should also work on s20 and s20+.
let me know if its working for you.
but remember I'm not responsible for any damage on your device!!!
It's in camera settings for me, at the very bottom of the main settings menu there's a switch.

It works for camera, but cant open anymore magisk modules page (canary) (app close)
I will try safe mode to disable it and confirm it because of it.
I hoped to have app protection, the menu appeared, but i guess app is missing, could you add it?

Edit : cant access module page from magisk even in safe mode ... any idea ?
Edit 2 : found it in /data/adb/modules and deleted it. It works now for module page... could you fix it ?

Exynos or Snapdragon?
try turning off the system volume, if you don't need it
I don't have the option to turn off the shutter sound in the camera app but muting system volume works, which means all other system related sounds will be muted

Thanks for the advice. Will muting the system volume mute notifications sound as well?

No, just system sounds (I think this includes charging, low battery, and the like)
Go to sounds and vibration > volume, then slide system all the way to the left

@m8980 I added the APK in your zip file, modifying module.prop to activate the APK, and it works, I have the application working in Advanced function menu !
But still, the module breaks magisk module page... :x

Actually it seems to be only with Magisk Manager Canary version.
I installed stable version, and module page works.
Edit : Many thanks because now we have AppLock working with your module and AppLock apk added
what does applock mean?

You can lock access to apps with pin/fingerprint
It needs the APK to be installed in /system/priv-app/AppLock as I did in the modified zip uploaded above

Edit : I don't know why some ROMs have this AppLock function and some other don't. I don't know if there is an S20 ROM with this function yet, but I found the AppLock APK (Android 10+) on apkmirror and this AppLock function is part of CSC features since some years ago already.

Actually, it works not so well.
I have it too, and yes it works, but after a reboot or something like that, the camera sound is there. I had to go in camera settings again to switch on/off the sound.
