So I just rooted my one. Currently on stock ruu but rooted with super user all that stuff and twrp installed. I've always backed up, wiped, and restored roms using a phone that had a SD card. My question is when I wipe and restore, will it erase everything on my device? How does it work exactly. Thanks in advanced
It won't wipe your internal sd, So all your files are safe. The wipe is pretty much the system data and settings.

I'd recommend ViperOne. Just came out tonight for Verizon. Check the General forum to find the link.

The storage space on the One acts as if you actually had an sd card and is treated as such so basically everything on that part of your phone's storage is left untouched when you're flashing roms and modifying system files. If you're afraid to lose certain things just back them up somewhere just in case.

We need more info. What roms/mods are you using? Have you tried transferring the data from the sd card to a pc, reformatting the sd card, then transferring it all back and putting it in the phone?

You may need to back up your memory card than reformat it than restore it again from your backup. I found than reformatting will fix most memory card issues.

Be patient. Sometimes it gets stuck for a while, but it eventually goes. I've had situations where I've had to wait 10 minutes. Now, that's only happened like twice but it does happen. Just give it time.
Also, did you just flash a ROM? Like, flash, reboot, and this happens? Because whenever you flash a ROM, the media scan takes forever.
If nothing really works, just try reflashing the ROM.
I formatted my sd and got rid of 5 of my 8 gb ._. Now I'm waiting for everything to get back on.

There is a bad read on there somewhere. Why do you only have an 8MB card? It came with a 16MB? You definitely need to back it up on a computer with a card reader, then go into CWM and reformat the card.

Basically was doing a restore after a full wipe. I noticed the restore went allot faster then normal. I figured it was because the new twrp update speeded it up some how. I didn't get a failed message. Umm, no. It was a bad backup. I went to hit restore again and instead did a reboot. The phone was stuck on the Samsung white screen. With wish and truth helping, we got the phone into download mode and using Odin flashed the cwm recovery tar file. Then got the the phone into recovery and flashed a ROM I had on my card.
Moral of the story. If it doesn't seem right dont follow through with it and always keep a working ROM zip on your card. It was totally my fault.
Just noticed, that restore was only 506mb. I ran out of space.

Does this happen every time? Or just that one time?
If you could, boot into TWRP, make a nandroid, do a factory reset. If it works, then it was [probably] a little glitch. If it doesn't work, go into the advance menu and copy the recovery log to the sdcard. After that upload it here. That'll help a lot. Also, you know, if it did work and wipes your data then you'll probably want to restore your nandroid.

Wow, um, let's see; you could try to redo the data partition. I don't know that that'll fix anything though. Plus it would wipe everything in /data including your internal sdcard ( /data/media). I've never seen or heard of anything like this. You could also talk to Dees_troy (sorry if I'm spelling that wrong), he did make TWRP.

Its not CWM, its 4.2+ roms, they partition your sdcard and store everything in /0 rather than in /

But from what I know, and from what I've done.... you should be just fine. I've done it even on nexogen, and OpTimuS with no problems.
People are modding their phone so much to get kk to run it , that it's creating alot if problems IMHO.

LGNPST is the only other way.
FreeGee's files should be in root of your SD under freegee. If you backed them up to your computer or cloud, just copy it back to root.
The problem was that stupid 0 folder. I moved the files from the 0 folder to the other freegee folder at the root of my storage and voila..."your efs has been restored up"
