Flashing back to stock - Sprint LG Optimus G

If I flash a backup back to stock, will I have to do anything special? Or will I just be rooted and unlocked on a stock ROM? Will I still be able to use Epics camera mod? Etc.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app

If you made a backup of a custom stock ROM, like Optimus, Nexogen, etc., you'll be fine. Nothing to worry about.

You'll be fine with that too. As long as it's JB. ZVB/ZVC. Just make sure you wipe the 4 in Advanced.

Before. So if you go back and forth between. CM, AOKP, Stock, etc make sure you wipe everything but internal SD. And use TWRP 2.5.0.0 in my opinion.

Actually, i would recommend also formatting internal storage. Just because partitions are different from android 4.2+. Just to avoid future headaches. Just my .02.

Yup. OpTimuS, has crwolv camera mod built in so I wouldn't use _Epic's with it. Not sure about nexogen. But bone stock it'll be fine.

@engine95 one last question bro...I keep hearing different things but I'll ask you O Wise LGOG Guru.. If I backed up my EFS before I flashed a custom ROM and that was the ONLY backed up EFS, I would be fine flashing that back up now since I'm on the original ROM it was backed up from.. Right?

I'm not the guru. I just get lucky. As for EFS... autoprime has that area.
But from what I know, and from what I've done.... you should be just fine. I've done it even on nexogen, and OpTimuS with no problems.
People are modding their phone so much to get kk to run it , that it's creating alot if problems IMHO.

Yup.
If everything on your phone is as it was when you created your EFS backups, you'll have no problems.
Be just be aware that even that backup may not save our butts. As we all know these phones can be picky.

LGNPST is the only other way.
FreeGee's files should be in root of your SD under freegee. If you backed them up to your computer or cloud, just copy it back to root.

The problem was that stupid 0 folder. I moved the files from the 0 folder to the other freegee folder at the root of my storage and voila..."your efs has been restored up"

First, have you updated your profile/prl? If that doesn't work, did you backup your efs? Also, may try reflashing if the profile/prl update doesn't work.

Did all of that, minus reflashing, and still nothing. Reflash lifeless and go from there or lgpst and start over?

If you successfully updated profile/prl, you may have had efs issues. I don't know enough about them to give advice, so probably be best to wait until morning when all the experienced people jump on. Don't want to send you in the wrong direction.

A reflash would be a simple troubleshoot. As far as doing LGNPST, that could result in needing to do a full wipe, in which you'd lose everything. Did you happen to backup EFS when you unlocked with FreeGee?

Cleaning up SD card after multiple flashes?

I've flashed dozens of roms in the last month & for some reason cwm (I think this is the culprit) creates all these 0/ folders & it's really annoying. Now all ym downloads, music & apks are ALL over the place. Is there a fix for this? Or is there something I'm doing wrong? Please help.

Its not CWM, its 4.2+ roms, they partition your sdcard and store everything in /0 rather than in /

Yes go to your phones settings then you go to backup and reset although the back up only backs up apps, videos, pictures and contacts if you don't use a sim card if you use a sim card but didn't transfer onto it but transferred to the phone you will have to click on contacts menu then choose import contacts to sim I have done this with my phone to do the same thing as you did

I have been having a lot of problems getting stuck at boot when flashing and restoring due to data corruption issues many seem to be having. After Reading this thread I decided to do a full internal data wipe in twrp then power down before using lgnpst to flash back to unrooted/unlocked stk jb 4.1.2..And it worked perfect with no need to factery reset after flash....rebooted at 67% ran to 85% and told me phone disconnected reconnect to finish but the phone was already booted and running fine....cant say it will work for your phone but thought it might help.

There's a couple of ways.
To get as fresh as possible, LGNPST ZVB. It has recovery built in. And kind of rooted.
The other option, if you have recovery, flash the ZVB stock or deodexed ROMS.

ZVB, and ZVC radios seem to be the same. So really it doesn't matter which one you're on. Both work with JB, AOSP, CM.
ZV9 WILL NOT WORK with the above.
I have lousy reception and i just reflash the radio just cuz it makes me feel better. It won't hurt anything to flash them.

It shouldn't. But i also don't think it's something you should do unless you have to.
Being that it's very special info to make our phones work, and autoprime has done an awesome job on protecting that info, it's the one thing that can make life he!! if messed up.
So just the usual disclaimer....do it at your own risk.

Backing up TWRP

So I just rooted my one. Currently on stock ruu but rooted with super user all that stuff and twrp installed. I've always backed up, wiped, and restored roms using a phone that had a SD card. My question is when I wipe and restore, will it erase everything on my device? How does it work exactly. Thanks in advanced
It won't wipe your internal sd, So all your files are safe. The wipe is pretty much the system data and settings.

The storage space on the One acts as if you actually had an sd card and is treated as such so basically everything on that part of your phone's storage is left untouched when you're flashing roms and modifying system files. If you're afraid to lose certain things just back them up somewhere just in case.
