Hi, i have searched the forum but i didn't find exactly what i wanted.
I have on my mind a small app with 1-2 activities which will be able to change the provided widget, not something extreme, only a few already designed clock widgets.
It's memory usage to have 3-4 installed widget and takes more space in widget list, and it's more cool an app like this
I checked sources from Google apps but it was too complicated for re-use (ads, payment options, server data etc..)
Can you help me plz, with an example or something familiar?
Thanks

Why don't you use a task killer like Advance Task Killer, it's free on the market, that should help you, also if you don't need that app just remove it.
Just follow the steps on this link.

ATK won't help him at all, System Panel can already kill apps. The problem is that the app shouldn't be staying alive the entire time. There's something else wrong.
Have you done any research as to what that process is?
I've read it could have something to do with GPS but everytime system panel shows it running my sync icon shows up... Idk..

If com.htc.bgp has something to do with location services (according to Google), and (iirc) HTC has Weather listed in Accounts and Sync, and Weather uses location services....
Disable Weather in Accounts and Sync?
Worth a shot.
i also have the problem with com.htc.bgp.
I don't have anything to do with weather in accounts and sync.
all I have in there is my 2 mails.
I don't even have htc weather in my rom. no sense either.
any other ideas to what I can do to stop that error message? its really annoying.
"Clear Data" of the Calendar also works for the CPU usage of com.htc.bgp

what stock tw widgets are known battery drainers?
i use the weater app, digital clock, google search bar, yahoo finance, and month calendar.
i gotta feeling that some of them are battery hogs.
also i think a list would be helpful to others.

seriously?
could you recommend alternatives that dont affect battery as much?
BS! I have original clock, email. IM, agenda and weather widgets, and also whatsapp, battery widget and xda, and at night I lose about 1 pct / hour when the phone is off.
Don't think all original widgets suck (lol) because I am sure they don't.
That is with gprs on, no email sync.

Well guys, if i shut down data the phone uses 1% per 2 hours.
İ guess the battery consumption is the result of a bug in the data line?
You can also put it on EDGE..

thanks for your response david.
among all the stock widgets i use, im kinda suspect of the yahoo financial widget. it switches between my 5 chosen stocks every so often but sync is set to never/manual.
as an occasional forex trader and for general finance, i find the widget quite usefull plus it looks kickass
im wondering if other people have some experience with the widget.
Has anyone noticed that the contacts icon from the app drawer is completely missing and is now solely incorporated with the dialer? Definitely my biggest complaint so far..

Someone didn't watch the Galaxy Nexus announcement...
The application has been re-worked and is now called 'People'
By default it is the second app in the app drawer.
edit: Also, if my memory serves me correctly, the 'Contacts' application actually was just a shortcut to the relevant screen in the Phone app. So nothing has changed.
Anyone know how to change the weather widget came with the ION to search for GPS location (moved with device) instead of a fixed location ? I have tried out a few weather widgets in the Play Market, still like the default - simple and elegant. Thanks.
You have to have Google location services enabled. Took me a year to figure that out on my Play.

Where do find google services option? Isn't that the same as GPS Satellite? I had that checked still don't see any option in the weather widget beside entering city name.

I don´t think you can with the Ion widget. I had to install the Weather Channel program, when you configure its widget you can set it for current location. But the widget sucks, so now I use it from the App menu only.
Hi All,
I was just curious what weather app / weather widget do you guys and gals recommend?
I currently use TWN (The Weather Network) app and widget but just recently found out that it keeps the phone awake for a long period of time. Today alone I have had my phone on for 4 hours and it has kept it awake for 45mins of that time. That's not acceptable to me. Please let me know what options you guys use as I will be looking for alternative apps. Thanks.
I snagged the weather bug elite free on amazon whenever they did the free app a day.
any apps for free that automatically update your location
I use fancy widget pro. there's a free version but the pro version is worth paying for. it has awesome skins available and isn't too hard on battery:thumbup:
